Archie Panjabi is thrilled to return in the exciting second season of the Canadian mystery drama Departure! If you enjoyed the first season, you’re in for a delightful surprise this time—it’s bound to captivate you just as much!
In the second season, Panjabi's character, Kendra Malley, is called in to investigate the deadly crash of a high-profile electric train. The question remains whether it was a mechanical issue or a system malfunction, as the six episodes this season will explore every possible detail until the conclusion.
Along with Panjabi, who delivered another fantastic performance, Christopher Plummer reprised his role as Howard Lawson. If you remember, Plummer's character was arrested and charged with being involved in that season one mystery plane crash.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Plummer filmed all his scenes from his Connecticut home. This was his last on-screen performance before his death in February 2021. Plummer delivers an outstanding performance, and his final scene in the finale feels like a goodbye.
I enjoyed the second season of Departure. The gripping story kept me engaged and guessing who the suspect or suspects could be. While this season wraps up the first and second seasons, it also sets the stage for a potential third season, which will soon be filmed with Eric McCormack's cast.
Overall, I give this season a 9/10.
