Matlock "Pilot" Series Premiere

If you haven't seen the new Kathy Bates' series Matlock, what are you doing? Here are my thoughts on the series premiere.

It was over a year when CBS announced that Matlock was picked up for series with Kathy Bates as Matlock, granted we all thought that from the trailers that Bates would play the title character and help a law firm, but that's not the case at all.

I have watched the pilot twice and while the ending ends up being a shocker at first, the second time viewing ends is just as shocking as before. Now I won't spoil the ending because that'll ruin the shocking surprise.

I will say that this series presents hilarious moments and a fun dynamic that Bates presents with her supporting cast. If you ever wonder if it's still a law series, yeah it still have elements of law just like the original series.

Kathy Bates gives an amazing performance in the pilot episode of the series. She distracts us with her performance while given us clues that we should follow but forget until the very end.

The series is developed by Jennie Synder Urman, who wrote the pilot, has done a fantastic job setting up what the series is going to be this season.

I highly recommend putting this series on your watchlist this tv season. It's already got big buzz this week for new series and the series won't have a new episode until October 17th.

Overall, I give the series premiere a 9/10.

Have you seen CBS Matlock? What did you think of it? Leave a comment.

You can watch Matlock available on Paramount+ with new episode premiering on October 17th on CBS.
