Beach Action Rescue:Rescue: Hi-Surf "Pilot"/Mauka to Maka" Two-Night Series Premiere

Are you surfing up to Fox's new drama, Rescue Hi-Surf?

The new FOX beach rescue series, that had a two-night series premiere this week, is a jolt driven action packed series that dives into the ins and outs of those that put their lives on the line to rescue people from the dangers of the Northshore of Hawaii.

IT'S NOT BAYWATCH! I REPEAT IT'S NOT BAYWATCH!!!

It's pretty much ER on the beach if you think of it, but that's not a bad thing.

The characters are solid and well connected from Captain Jennings (played by Robbie Magasiva), who runs the Northshore rescue group and is dealing with a lost of a family member; lieutenant Wright (played by Arielle Kebbel), a tough as nails who wants to be captain; Will Ready (played by Adam Demos) is one of many members, who's about to leave for the fire department and might still have a love interest with Wright.

The rescues are at a high level that can compare other shows with its nice visuals and fast pace camera work. And after two episodes some of the stories are good enough to have an interest to keep watching; whether it's Jennings dealing with politics when adding a new recruit after a politician ask in return for a favor to watching the team dealing with aftermath of what the new recruit's mistake of not given the right location.

This show is pretty much FOX's answer to add another emergency rescue series just as 9-1-1: Lonestar comes to an end.

After watching the first two episodes, I recommend putting Rescue Hi-Surf on your watchlist this fall. Its got solid character development and writing.

Overall, I give the series premiere an 8/10.

Have you seen Rescue: Hi-Surf? What do you think of the series? Will you been watching it? Leave a comment.

You can catch Rescue: Hi-Surf Mondays at 9/8c on FOX.
