The Fall TV Season is Here! Top 10 Most Anticipated New Shows

With the weather changing, school back in session, and football returning, it can mean only one thing: fall television is back!

Yes, I can't wait for the return of fall TV, with new and returning shows that will make us laugh, love, cry, and be thrilled. Considering that, I will list the top ten of my most anticipated new shows.

We'll start with the new series:

1. A Man on the Inside

 Netflix Date: November TBA

Pretty much my most anticipated show this fall or the start of the 2024-2025 season is Netlix's "A Man on the Inside" starring Ted Danson. The series is about a widower, who's eager to shake up his routine, answers an ad from a private detective to solve a myerstious theft. He goes deep undercover, posing as a new resident at a senior living community, building heartwarming new friendships and a stronger bond with this daughter along the way.

It's a Michael Schur (The Good Place) and Ted Danson series what could go wrong? Also the series  starring lineup of actors and actresses that can't be ignored from Stephanie Beatriz to Sally Struthers.

2. St. Denis Medical

Premieres Tuesday, November 12 on NBC

Co-created by Justin Spitzer (Superstore and American Auto), the series is a mockumentary style medical drama sitcom that follows the overworked doctors and nurses working at an underfunded Oregon hospital. It stars Wendi McLendon-Covey, David Alan Grier, Allison Tolman, and Kaliko Kauahi.

I'm such a fan of Spitzer's shows like Superstore and the highly underrated American Auto (which should still be on the air but got caneled after two seasons). This is another series that I was already onboard to watch, just like A Man on the Inside. It's got a star-stunning lineup cast and if you know the style of Superstore or The Office you're going to love it.

3. English Teacher

Premiere: Monday, Sept. 2 on FX

The comedy-drama follows a high school teacher, Evan Marquez (played by Brian Jordan Alvarez (who also created the series)), finds himself at the intersection of professional, political and person aspects of working at a high school.

Back in May during the Television Critics Assocations, there were a lot of word of mouth about how good the preview to the series was and as of September 1st, its got a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes.

4. Matlock

Premiere: A Sneak Peak on September 22 with its regular timeslot on October 17th on CBS

This legal drama has been on the CBS list to premiere for over a year now (it was pushed back to the 2024-2025 season due to the writers and actor's strike). It stars Kathy Bates as Madeline Matlock and it has Jason Ritter (Parenthood), solving legal drama in the city of New York.

It's Kathy Bates, what could go wrong here? Maybe putting this series along side another legal mystery drama in Elisbeth.

5. High Potental

Premiere: September 17 on ABC

Based on the French comedy, this drama is about Morgan (played by Kaitlin Olson (It's Always Sunny In Philiadephia), a housecleaner who help the local police to solve crime that even the local detectives can figure out.

It sounds interesting and fun, plus it's Kaitlin Olson solving crime. Who wouldn't want to watch this series?

6. Brilliant Minds

 Premiere: September 23 on NBC

This medical drama is about Dr. Oliver Wolf, who is an eccentric but incredibly gifted neurogloist that suffered from a rate condition that gives him a qniqe perspective on care that fuels his mission to change the way the world sees his patients. It stars Zachaty Quinto, Teddy Sears, and is executive produced by Andy Serkis, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schecter.

From what the promos have been showing, I'm thinking like it's a combination between House or The Good Doctor and New Amsterdam (with the storytelling lening towards New Amsterdam). I'm a medical drama fan (from shows like ER, St. Elsewhere and House), so I'm looking forward to seeing this series since I do miss New Amsterdam.

7. Happy's Place

Premiere: October 18 on NBC

Reba McEntire is back doing sitcom. When Bobbie (McEntire), who has inherits her father's bar after his passing, gets a visit by Isabella (played by Belissa Escobedo), who happens to be her half-sister.

It's Reba and Melissa Peterman back doing a sitcom comedy, who does want to watch this? I'm all in,

8. Recue: Hi-Surf

Premiere: Sneak Peak on September 22 with regular timeslot on September 23 on FOX.

The series brings an edge-of-your-seat style to the North Shore of Hawaii, that follows the dedicated, heroic and adrenaline-seeking lifeguards as they save people's lives in the difficult and ofter life-threatening conditions of Hawaii's Seven Mile Miracle. Created by Matt Kester and executive produced by John Wells.

I'm excited to see John Wells put another rescue drama series on television and hopefully it doesn't turn into a Baywatch 2024.

9. Nobody Wants This

Premieres September 26 on Netflix

This romantic comedy, created by Erin Foster, centers on the unlikely relationship between an outspoken, agnositc woman (played by Kristen Bell) and an unconventional rabbi (played by Adam Brody).

From what the trailer has show, the concept looks interesting and the cast looks solid. It's a netflix series anything is a hit or miss.

10. Doc

Premieres Midseason on FOX

The series tells the story of Dr. Amy Larsen, who loses her memory during a car accident, but in order to rebuild her life from the pieces that remains she must return to being an intern.

The concept looks interesting and the casting of Molly Parker has me in to tune in. Hopefully, I can remember that this series won't premiere until spring or so.

So that's my top 10 most anticipated new shows of the fall. What new show or shows are you looking forward to this fall? Leave a comment below.
