When Evan and the gang go to a teacher convention, he starts to have second thoughts about his career. Here's a recap.
As a joyous Evan and his gang go to the yearly teacher convention, it doesn't go the way that they had hoped it would go. As they go to join a presentation from other teachers and principals, it all just becomes a drag and depressing, which makes Evan question himself as a teacher and even puts his relationship with Malcolm in question.
Later he spots a friend from college at the same convention, who seems to be loving his career. Evan would get a job offer from his friend but after seeing what they do and act, he declined instead.
Meanwhile, Gwen and Evan learn that Markie is going to get fired by Grant and tries to stop but also convince Grant that his speech isn't funny. Well, put your worry aside as Grant's speech killed in the best of way, and Markie isn't leaving as it's one of his and Grant's yearly things that they do.
"Convention" was another hilarious and well-written episode with a solid character development of Evan dealing with whether or not to leave teaching as a career. The suspense of whether or not Markie was going to get fried by Grant was nice, even though we learned in the first episode that they couldn't fire him with a clause. The cast gave solid performances.
Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.
