The waiting game is finally over. We will see Deputy Commissioner Wallace Boden on Chicago Fire this season.
On Wednesday, TVLine has learned that Eamonn Walker, who's played Chief Wallace Boden for 12 seasons in the Chicago franchise, will return this season in the April 16th episode.
The last time we've seen Boden was in the Season 12 finale, when he took a higher position within the Chicago Fire department ranks, but will allow him to appear on the show.
There has been no doubt that since the "departure" that fans has been eagerly awaiting to when he will pop in, but we'll have to wait until the episode 18, in which will have Boden is tasked by Commisonor Grissiom (played by Gary Cole) to run a post-incident analysis following a house fire that callasped with a firefighter inside.
Showrunner Andrea Newman said, "We're so excited to have our beloved Chief Boden back, and the episode titled 'Post-Motrem' is a thrill ride unlike any we've done before. Told with flashbacks and unique POVs, Chief Boden leads our team on a search to discover the how, who, and why of a fierce firefight that ended in disaster."
Newman told TVLive that she described the hour as "a fantastic episode that will showcase our beloved Boden."
