Well, after the One Chicago trio was renewed earlier this week, two more NBC dramas have also been renewed. Take a guess at what they could be?
On Thursday, TVLine and Deadline reported that NBC has renewed both Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU for the 2025-2026 TV season.
Both television programs ranked fourth (SVU) and fifth (L&O) among NBC's dramas this season, only behind the One Chicago series. "Law & Order" is averaging 5.1 million total viewers, including delayed playback, while "SVU" is averaging 5.7 million total viewers, also including delayed playback.
This week, a TVLine report indicated that, as a result of budgetary reduction measures, two casting departures will occur upon the renewal of SVU: Octavio Pisano (Det. Joe Velasco) and Juliana Aiden Martinez (Det. Kate Silva). Furthermore, Deadline reports that Law & Order is also confronting more extensive budgetary reductions.
It’s not too surprising to learn that these two wonderful shows will be renewed for another year, especially since they are part of NBC's five amazing dramas!
Looking ahead, we still have Brilliant Minds, Found, Grosse Pointe Garden Society, The Hunting Party, The Irrational, Lopez vs. Lopez, Night Court, and Suits: LA waiting for their renewal news, particularly with the NBC Upfronts happening this Monday. I wonder which shows will be added to the lineup and which ones might be saying goodbye!

You can catch Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU on Thursdays beginning at 8/7c on NBC and streaming the next day on Peacock.
