One of the OG Chicago Med members is returning to the Windy City.
On Tuesday, TVLine and Deadline reported that Nick Gehlfuss, an original cast member of Chicago Med, will guest-star in the upcoming 11th Season. It's unknown how many episodes he will appear in.
Gehlfuss played Dr. Will Halstead in the backdoor pilot of Chicago Med in a 2015 Chicago Fire episode and continued in the role until 2023, when he left at the end of Season 8. There, he reunited with Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) and became a stepfather to her son, Owen.
The news, while a shock, isn't too surprising because in Season 10, we saw a couple of familiar faces like Rachel DiPillo, who left in Season 4, come back as Dr. Charles' former psych resident, Dr. Sarah Reese, and longtime cast member Mekia Cox, who left in Season 5, return as Dr. Charles' daughter, Robin.
I'm surprised and excited all at once hearing this news. I wonder what Will be back in Chicago for... a medical case or something else? We're finally getting the Manstead wedding!! YEAH!!
