Food Network's The Kitchen Ends After 10 Years

It's an end of an era for a Food Network Show.

On Monday, Variety exclusively reported that the Food Network weekend talk show The Kitchen will end on Saturday, Dec. 13th at 11/10c after 10 years and 40 seasons.

The talk show co-hosted by Sunny Anderson, Katie Lee Biegel, Jeff Mauro, Geoffrey Zakarian, and recurring guest star Alex Guarnaschelli, the Emmy-nominated series focused on discussing recipes, food trends, and family meal tips.

According to Variety, a source close to production says the show's cancellation comes as the network is evaluating resources and its priorities heading into the new year's lineup of programming, and as Warner Bros. Discovery moves forward with its plans to split up the linear channels portion of the business from the streaming services studio.

"For over a decade Sunny, Katie, Jeff, Geoffrey and more recently Alex have engaged audiences with their individual and distinct food sensibilities and sense of humor that together make 'The Kitchen' a delicious way to spend an hour," Warner Bros. Discovery head of food content Besty Ayala said. "Everyone knows all good parties end up in 'The Kitchen,' where the conversation, laughs and food flows; the best parties probably end a little bit earlier then some guests would like, but we've got twelve years of memories and wanted to celebrate this team's hard work during one final holiday season."

Memorable guests have come across "The Kitchen's" 10-year run from Daniel Radcliffe, Regina King, Tony Shalboub, Susan Lucci, Tiffani Thiessen to Martina McBride, Vanilla Ice, Trisha Yearwood, Willie Geist, Katie Lee Gifford, and not to mention Bobby Flay, Emeril Lagasse, Ree Drummond and Martha Stewart.

This is such a surprise because Saturdays at 10am have always been dedicated to enjoying television that makes us learn, laugh, and discover new things and trends in the food world. The Kitchen has always been the highlight of my weekend viewing. But I guess that all great things much come to an end and well there's always Discovery+ to view back the great moments that this series has brough into our livingrooms/kitchens.
