When Thor learns that his son is getting married, there's just one huge issue blocking his view: the renters next door. Here's a recap and review of "Viking Wedding."
Just as Sam and Jay are dealing with a frustrating water company pickup issue, they learn that the Farnsbys are leaving for an RV trip and bringing in temporary renters: Libby and Garrett. Libby and Garrett used to be friends with Sam and Jay, but they've been distant lately. Things get infinitely more complicated when Bjorn announces his engagement to Judy, and the situation worsens when the renters move a tall bookshelf to completely block the window, preventing Thor from seeing his son’s Viking wedding.
Sam and Jay try to fix the problem socially, but when a successful dinner with Libby and Garrett fails to produce an opportunity to ask them to move the shelf, they decide to sneak into the house and move it themselves. They succeed, just in time for the wedding! However, Libby and Garrett make a surprising early return. Sam manages to sneak out, but Jay and Pete are forced to listen in as the couple watches the film Swingers, which has strangely haunting effects on the ghosts afterward.
Meanwhile, still on hold with the water company, Trevor gets the idea to wait by the phone for Sam until they are next in line. He and Sassapis believe this act of service might earn them favor in Heaven. However, after watching The Golden Bachelor together, the two start arguing over the phone line until Isaac gets involved, turning the situation into a classic, hilariously escalated Ghosts moment.
"Viking Wedding" was such a delightful episode that I found myself completely captivated. From the funny moments of Sam and Jay negotiating with the water company on hold to Trevor and Sassapis's amusing chat about The Bachelor series, every scene brought a smile to my face.
I especially enjoyed the parts where Jay and Pete almost got caught while Libby and Garrett were watching Swingers; those moments were simply hilarious! This episode also showed that Sam and Jay can actually pull off something successfully without getting caught in prolonged trouble. It’s a warm reminder of their cleverness and good chemistry, which make the show so enjoyable. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.
