TV Corner Notes: The Lowdown Finale, New Apple TV Series Premieres & More

Welcome back to TV Corner Notes! It’s another packed week of finales, premieres, and fresh stories worth diving into. From tense mysteries to emotional character moments and unexpected sci-fi surprises, November TV is delivering on all fronts.

This week, I’m taking a look at two standout episodes, one wrapping up a season with heart and closure, and another launching a brand-new series with bold energy and sharp writing. Whether you’re in the mood for a gripping conclusion or an exciting new beginning, there’s something here to add to your watchlist.

The Lowdown "The Sensitive Kind" Season Finale

The finale of The Sensitive Kind tied up its mysteries with emotional clarity and real payoff. Lee’s final confrontation with Frank and Betty Jo brought all the season’s tangled secrets into the light, revealing the truth behind Dale’s death and giving the story the closure it needed. The action-packed opening, the wounded Marty rescue, and Lee’s final choice to honor Dale’s memory all landed beautifully.

Ethan Hawke delivers another grounded, magnetic performance, and Kyle MacLachlan brings surprising depth as he guides his character through a redemptive final turn. By the end, Lee feels more centered, his relationship with his daughter stronger, and the world around him just a little less broken.

With satisfying answers and strong character moments, the finale closes the season in a hopeful and fitting way. I give it a solid 9/10.

Plur1bus Series Premiere

The latest Apple TV series, Plur1bus, premiered on Friday, November 7th, and it’s definitely worth adding to your watchlist!

The series kicks off with a scientist detecting an intriguing radio signal from deep space. As they work to reproduce the signal, a sudden outbreak occurs one night, causing the infected to act jointly and form a coordinated mass. Intriguingly, six individuals, including renowned novelist Carol Sturka (played by Rhea Seehorn), remain uninfected. They soon discover that the infected have formed a blissfully happy hive mind whose primary goal is to bring total satisfaction to Carol and the other uninfected survivors.

The first two episodes balance tension, psychological dread, and unexpectedly dark humor. Seehorn is phenomenal—funny, frantic, sharp, and deeply human as Carol navigates a nightmare that no one else seems to fully understand. Karolina Wydra’s Zosia adds a fascinating layer from within the hive, and the chemistry between the two actresses elevates every scene they share.

The writing is bold, the tone unique, and the directing gives the show an elevated, prestige sheen. If you enjoy psychological sci-fi (Invasion of the Body Snatchers) mixed with sly satirical humor (The Last Man on Earth), Plur1bus will absolutely hook you. Overall, I give the premiere a 9/10.
