Alien: Earth Renewed for Season 2

Looks like we're not safe from the Xenomorphs just yet!

On Tuesday, TVLine learned that FX has renewed "Alien: Earth" for a second season. This renewal is part of a new overall deal that series creator Noah Hawley signed with FX.

"It has been our great privilege to work with Noah for more than a decade on some of FX's best and biggest shows, and we are thrilled to extend our partnership well into the future," said FX Chairman John Landgraf in a statement. "Noah never stops surprising us with truly original stories-and his unique ability to bring them to vibrant life as a director and producer as well as writer makes him extraordinary. We can't wait to get to work on the next season of 'Alien: Earth,' as well as some equally exciting future projects in advanced development."

"Alien: Earth," an extension of the 'Alien' film franchise, stars Sydney Chandler as Wendy, a human-robot hybrid fighting back against Xenomorphs and other alien species released after a spaceship crashes on Earth. Season 1 concluded in September, with Wendy and her hybrid friends gaining freedom from their creator, Boy Kavalier. Filming for Season 2 is set to begin in London next year.

This, of course, comes as no surprise, as the series has been a hit in the latter part of the summer television season and into the fall, ranking at the top of the streaming charts on Hulu and generating buzz for its performances and writing. I can't wait for season two. You can read my episode recaps of season one.
