Recap: Ghosts "The Proposal"

 

From a proposal to even a basement fight club, here's a recap and review of Ghosts, "The Proposal."

When Bela finds out that Eric plans to propose, her excitement is derailed when Sam gets involved, trying to make Eric's proposal "memorable" to compensate for her own disappointment with Jay's original proposal.

With Bela upset, Sasappis, who has been anxiously awaiting Joan's return, enters Bela's dream. The two end up hooking up in the dream space. Although this moment is slightly disrupted, Sasappis later apologizes to Eric in Eric's own dream (which features Bob Ross and Eric's mother) for his interference. Ultimately, Eric proposes to Bela, culminating in another hilariously awkward moment.

Meanwhile, Isaac is exhausted trying to win the basement ghosts' vote to become their representative. The effort is grueling; he's forced to listen to the water heater and try sleeping upright to appear committed. Nancy catches Isaac sneaking up to the couch to sleep and sees a way to help him earn the basement ghosts' trust: by joining their fight club, much to Pete's excitement.

Just before the match, Isaac assumes he'll be fighting a side character, but instead, he's pitted against a giant basement ghost. He gets the beef jerky literally knocked out of him, but his valiant effort earns him Nancy's vote and the others' respect.

"The 'Proposal" was such a wonderful episode to enjoy from beginning to end! I really appreciated watching Sam's journey as she navigated her feelings about proposals, especially the heartfelt ending where Jay proposes to her again. Sass's dreamy involvement added a delightful touch—we're all hoping Joan will come back soon! Even though some parts felt a bit predictable, the story between Sass and Bela kept me hooked throughout.

The funniest moment by far was Isaac getting caught red-handed trying to sneak in for a quick nap. His willingness to brave the fight club for political respect and votes was truly classic Isaac, and that scene will stay memorable for a long time! Overall, I’d rate this episode an 8.5 out of 10.
