The morning starts on a rocky note for Tommy and Angela after an awkward hotel encounter with staff leaves their relationship in another "rough patch." After dropping Angela and Ainsley at the airport, Tommy spends the day with his father, T.L., whose presence initially irritates him. However, during a quiet lunch, T.L. delivers some of his trademark grounded wisdom, teaching Tommy the vital importance of savoring life's small moments rather than just racing toward the next crisis.

Cooper is determined to make his proposal to Ariana special, even though the "surprise" factor is long gone. Armed with his mother’s engagement ring and a well-timed discount at the local florist, Cooper transforms their space with rose petals. The heartfelt proposal—complete with their dog as a witness—is a resounding success, proving that sometimes the simplest gestures carry the most weight.

While romance is in the air for some, Rebecca is facing cold, hard numbers. She discovers that Cami’s offshore plan has a staggering 90% risk of failure, with only a 10% chance of success.

Her professional life gets even messier when Nate catches her calling the company geologist "Charlie" instead of "Charles." Sensing their relationship, petty Nate forces her to sign a conflict-of-interest document, which deeply upsets her. Fearing for her reputation, she turns to Tommy. In a surprising show of support, Tommy offers advice that reframes the situation, reminding her of her value to M-Tex beyond the paperwork.

The episode comes full circle during "Taco Night" at the house. In a callback to their tense morning, Tommy prepares an omelette and shares a sincere, vulnerable moment with Angela. He apologizes for being distant at the hotel, and the two manage to brush off the tension, laughing and acting like a couple of teenagers again.

"Forever is an Instant" is a delightful and funny episode that beautifully highlights the joy of savoring the present instead of rushing through life. The conversation between T.L. and Tommy at the diner perfectly reflects the episode's core message and adds a touching note about a crew member choosing to retire after twenty years. It’s a warm, heartfelt story that encourages reflection while making you smile. Cooper's sincere effort to create the perfect proposal for Ariana reminds us that sometimes, it's the small, genuine gestures that mean the most. And honestly, I’ll never look at an omelette the same way after this episode — thank you, Landman! Overall, I’d give this episode an 8/10.
