CBS Fall 2016-2017 Schedule

On Wednesday, CBS presented it Upfront for the 2016-2017 season with the advertisers.

The big news out of this would be that there will be eight comedies on the network as they are restrting their signature Monday comedy block, with the return of Kevin James' new series "Kevin Can Wait." This will be James' return to the network on Mondays at 8 pm slot where King of Queens spent most of it's 9 year run. James will be joining with Matt LeBlanc and his new sitcom "Man with a Plan."

After CBS scaled back on their Monday comedy block to one hour two years ago and getting way with it all of last season, the network is re-expanding it in a major way with the return of the two-hour block.

Like this isn't new, CBS is using it's strongest shows to launch new shows. The network's #1 drama, NCIS, will be used as the launching pad for Bull, who's stars by the departed NCIS co-star Michael Weatherly. So I guess he's departure didn't really need to be that big since he's coming right back. TO make room for Bull (no pun intended) NCIS: New Orleans will be moving to 10 pm.

With CBS top comedy The Big Bang Theory will help launch fellow ensemble multi-camera comedy The Great Indoors, starring Joel McHale.

Hawaii Five-0 - Mai ho'oni i ka wai lana malie (Preview)

The new season of Hawaii Five-O will be taken on treasure hunting.

I don't know if it blows my mind but kind of ask whether or not this might be the series' last season. But for this season looks like a proposal is in. Even if it doesn't blow my mind, I'm still looking forward to see where the show will be going.

The season premiere of Hawaii Five-O is Friday, Sept. 25 at 9/8c on CBS.

CBS Return Shows to Watch

CBS had kicked off their portion of the Television Critics Association Summer Press tour on a really good spoiler note with releasing fall teasers of their returning shows. I'll just going to put down the ones to look forward to:

CSI (Sunday, September 27)
In the special two-hour series finale event, a catastrophic event paralyzes Las Vegas, and Gil Grissom, Catherine Willows and Jim Brass returns to help the team with the investigation. Also, D.B. Russell and Sara Sidle make decisions regarding the future of their crime-fighting careers and Lady Heather makes a return, creating maniacal controversy betwwen Grissom and sidle.

CSI: Cyber (Sunday, Oct. 4 10/9c)
Ted Danson's D.B. Russell, a civilian specialist, transfers from Las Vegas to become the director of the newly created division of Next Generation Cyber Forensics. He joins Avery and her team as they track down the most dangerous cyber criminals, beginning with the hacking of a home security system that turns into a homicide investigation. Also Avery considers moving to a new position within the hierarchy of the FBI, Krumtiz is a witness in his sister's trail, Elijah deals with a family situation and more is revealed about both Raven's and Nelson's background.

Elementary (Thursday, Nov. 5th 10/9c)
Holmes attempts to rebuild his life in the wake of his attack on Oscar and subsequent relapse. Due to his violent actions, Sherlock's partnership with Watson and their consultancy with the NYPD are in jeopardy. As he awaits news on whether or not he will face criminal charges, the case of a mission woman allegedly killed by her husband lands in his lap, just in time to distract him from the impending arrival of his estranged father, Mr. Morland Holmes (new cast member John Noble).

Hawaii Five-O (Friday, Sept. 25th 9/8c)
In the sixth season premiere, a murder leads Five-O to investigate a centuries-old pirate story involving buried treasure, and it seems that the killer is using the back of a stolen painting as a treasure map. Also, the morning after their wedding, Kono and Adam (Ian Anthony Dale) are kidnapped and tortured by Gabriel (Christopher Sean), and Danny shows concern for McGarrett regarding Cathrine's return to the island.
