Friends and Family: Chicago PD "Big Friends Big Enemies"

Image result for Chicago PD Season 4

A shooting at a concert gets the Intelligence Unit investigating, but who they find out is totally unexpected.

This episode was really good at played with emotions very well. We get to see Atwater dealing with this case very personal, because he was the one trying to save a gun shot victim that he knows. The Unit takes took it as a terrorist attack, but it turns out to be a gang attack.

But after chasing social media posts from the shooters of when and where they're gonna be attacking, they take down one suspect that turns out to be in another gang. Voight went to the boss of Latain Players gang and even though he wasn't the one who ordered it, he knows who it was and helped them lour him out.

Turns out that the shooter was just a kid in high school. Shocking to all from Erin to Halstead, Atwater and even Antonio too.

In the middle of this as Burgess and Tay were helping out, they spotted Atwater's little brother at a house where they were checking on. Atwater was shocked but when he came home he really didn't do anything but gave him a look and decided to take his sister and brother to get something to eat.

Also we got to meet the new member on the Intelligence Unit, Jenny, who's replaced Mouse as he went back overseas. There were a couple of funny moments with Voight. I call them priceless.

As I said before this episode played with emotions, mostly with Atwater and other members of the team. But near the end of the episode, we see a scene of people in the neighborhood enjoying, embracing and having fun. It's something that we don't see a lot these days with what's been going on this year. It gave such a nice pleasant example of there's still good things in Chicago.

Overall, I give this episode a 8.5/10.

Not Gonna Listen, You'll Have to Feel: Chicago Fire "A Real Wake-Up Call"

Words are never enough to describe it but the only thing that comes to my mind was something my mother quoting my great-grandmother, "If you're not going to listen, you're going just have to feel it." That's probably how I can best describe this episode.

As Jimmy is back on Truck 81, things aren't as smooth as it may seem. He ignores Boden and does what he does. He disrespects the Chief and poses severe concerns to the rest of Truck 81. Even Herrmann gets ticked off at him and throws him out of the bar. I'll get back to this story shortly.

Meanwhile, Casey is dealing with a small (yet big) issue with how he used his political power to get the adoption agency to push Louie to be with Dawson. Threaten by another politician just to get his crap looked at and passed. He tells Dawson and the one thing that she has in mind is to find a way to stop him from spilling the truth out. My idea: call Voight or Antonio.

Severide takes  Travis's invitation to his party. It seems like he might be back as a party guy again. Also Kidd finally gives her ex the help he needs as she tells him to stay at Chicago Med and get treated.

Now, when the Firehouse 51 gets a call of a car accident. Boden and Casey have Jimmy on the sideline and dealing with a truck that has explosive containers. First things first, move the truck first and save the driver, but Jimmy didn't think so and goes ahead to help the lady, Boden tries to tell him to stop but he still heads over there until the containers explodes in flames and Jimmy is caught.

The team rushes to him and extinguish him from the fire. After that they moved him far to treat him. It was shocking, it was disturbing and real to a fact. Jimmy got severe burns and most of his left side of his face was burned and skin melted. Halstead treated and saved him at Med but couldn't save the left eye at all.

Things went from hated to emotional sadness with a blink of an eye (no pun intended). One of the most heartfelt scenes was when Boden went to see him, said a prayer and soon seen Jimmy's right eye open. He squeezed his hand and shed a tear.

It goes to show you, you don't listen, you'll just have to feel it. I'm not saying that he deserved it, but the guy won't listen and the CFD wasn't either. This was good from an emotional stand point. Just feel so bad and sad to lost a guy like Jimmy. I would think that he would be the next Casey on this team, but never assume that at all.

The bright spot was Brett and Mouch's firefighter novel. At first Mouch didn't like what Brett had written but later he really enjoyed it. I would love to see this book come to life and in bookstores for us #OneChicago fans to read.

Overall, I give this episode a 8.5/10.

Never Say Never.....Again: Timeless "Party at Castle Varlar"

If last week's episode was fun, this one had to be a blast.

Just as they found Flynn's location, Wyatt and team go after him but with no success as Flynn and his gang went back with the nuclear as they head to Germany on Dec. 7th 1944. There they thought that Flynn was gonna give the nuc to the Nazis but that wasn't even close.

Flynn was going to sabotage and get Wernher von Braun to the Russians instead of going to the United States (which helped with the space race during the Cold War).

The most interesting and entertaining aspect of this episode was that Lucy, Rufus and Wyatt meets with the famous British spy, Ian Fleming (the original James Bond). There were moments of jealous coming from Wyatt when Ian was using his charms on Lucy.

And yes there were Bond ponds too like the priest hole, they'd escaping from the castle and out of an underground tunnel (Skyfall), or the when they parted ways and Lucy says to him that they'll never see each other again. He replied, "Never Say Never" and Wyatt adds "Again."

Not to forget that Flynn didn't use the nuc at all, but it was used for one purpose....the time machine. Let me please use this quote "wait, are you telling me that this sucker is nuclear?!" Holy crap!! With that nuc as it's own battery it doesn't have to charge each time they travel in time.

This had to be the most action and fun episode yet. The Bond ponds were amazing. Loved the Wyatt and Lucy moment in this episode, as she's struggling on why she's doing this for what reason until she sees it as it to get her sister back.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

Unlikely Friends: Kevin Can Wait "Beat The Parents"

This week's episode of Kevin Can Wait was very funny. Funnier than last week's episode if I may say so as Ray Romano guest stars in this episode.

When Donna and Kevin thinks that their son, Jack, needs someone to play with, Donna goes out and finds a kid, Graydon, from school from a file at school as she's the school nurse. They may be excited when Donna found the one for Jack, but their gonna have a field day with his parents.

As Jack and Graydon plays, the kid's parents show up, Vic and Brandi, and things don't seem to be a pleasant good time with these two. Vic wears a man-bun which was hilarious to see Romano pull off.Vic and Brandi are like the creepy friends that want to hang out with you so much that you really don't and they'll do anything to make you do anything from dinner to even snowboarding.

Donna and Kevin decides to end Jack and Graydon's friendship by framing Graydon of stealing Jack's video game and bring his former friend that moved to Brooklyn. But the plan got derailed as when Vic tells Kevin that he sales hot tubs and that he could get them a great discount. That stuck Kevin in the head and aborted the mission and gets Donna on board to go for the hot tub.

When Kevin and Donna get to the hot tub store with the boys, things take another turn for them as Vic couldn't sale any of the better models and yet couldn't get them a good discount. He tells them that he's drowning, can't keep the house, about to lose his job and he doesn't want to break up the kid's friendship. At first Kevin and Donna left but after seeing Jack and Graydon, they went back and made a deal, even though the hot tub might be a bit bigger and can make you swirl around like a toilet.

I find this episode this to be hilarious and so simple to watch. There were a lot of funny lines and mostly seeing Ray Romano and Kevin James on the same screen again was amazing. I hope that Vic comes back soon. I thought the the scene where Kevin was on the phone with Donna telling her to abort the mission that they didn't need Jack's old friend, while that kid was in the car with Donna.

Overall, I give this episode a 8/10.

You can catch Kevin Can Wait Monday nights at 8/7c on CBS.

Family & School: Fresh Off The Boat "Coming From America" & "Breaking Chains"

In the season premiere of Fresh Off the Boat, they make a pretty good way of catching up from last season when Louis and his family have to get to Taiwan to attend to his brother's (Gene, played by Ken Jeong) wedding.

Louis is shocked to see that Gene is successful and is marrying to a beautiful fiancee, Margaret, and gets jealous of moving to America and had to start all over.  Not only did Louis have issues but Jessica had difficultly dealing of how much has changed from what she remembered of her home country.

Trying to find the soup place that was all out and instead went to McDonald's to trying to make a deal on a new Air Jordan shoes that turned out to be fake ones for Eddie to wear.

Along with Eddie's shoes, he's find it difficult to find a fax machine so he could contact Alison.

There were a few that stood out, like when Gene and his fiancee made a video of how they met calling it Ghost 2: The Story of Gene and Margaret making a better spoof of the Ghost films. Emery had difficult with the mosquitoes has they kept biting or as he calls it "kisses" his face.

But Jessica realizes that she loves her life in America and that she even misses bagels. They both come to realize that they're Ghost, two people living in between separate worlds.

Louis comes to terms and wrote Gene a lovely message wishing him nothing but happiness.

As Louis and the family get home, they are overwhelmed. But when Alison comes over and tells Eddie it's over, he explained that he couldn't find a fax machine and couldn't send a message. But she understood that but she was talking about a newspaper headline "Lakers Hit the Shaq-pot."

This was a nice season premiere. It had laughs and a better version of Ghost, to be honest. There were some really good scenes like Louis and Gene messaging each other and Louis tells him how much he had spent to get back home for his wedding. Jessica struggles adjusting coming back.

In the episode, "Breaking Chains," as school starts, Emery starts his first day of middle school, but Eddie has a few rules for him to follow. Plus Louis thinks that Jessica needs some help around the house as she express she needs some help.

This episode seem to be an average one at that, some was funny and some just wasn't at times. The ones that stood out was Louis getting a house cleaner for Jessica.

I find Jessica to be hilarious expressing her anger about the situation also after accepting the cleaner and taking her home she asked her how she got the bleach stain off the coach. She replied that it's a family secret and Jessica locked the doors and demanded her to tell her.

The middle school storyline was okay. Not my favorite and but it did have a little bit of humor. The idea of how Eddie and his friends should tackle their first day in a fantasy was funny.

Loved the two songs playing while Jessica was given the cleaner a ride home, "Zombies" from The Cranberries and "Un-Break My Heart" from Toni Braxton.

You can catch Fresh Off the Boat Tuesday nights at 9/8c on ABC.
