Victoria Renewed for Season 3

Image result for Victoria ITV

After we've seen Jenna Coleman's Victoria ascended to the throne and married Prince Albert, ITV has ordered a third season for the hit royal drama show, the Official Twitter account announced.

The new season will follow the next chapter in the monarch's eventful life and will see Coleman and Tom Hughes, who plays Albert, both return. The second season, that aired on ITV in the fall, averaged 4 million viewers, which was down slightly down from the first season.

Creator Daisy Goodwin said that season three will begin in 1848, a "hugely dramatic and eventful" time for the royals as revolutions across Europe created uncertainty around the monarchy. "Viewers can expect more drama than ever before in the third series," she added.

PBS airs Victoria and will air the second season in January. Questions on whether the Christmas special will air this December in the US is unknown, but it will air on ITV. Here's a trailer.
