This Is Us "I've Got This" Episode Preview

Here's a preview of the next episode of This Is Us.

"I've Got This"

Beth navigates qualms with her mother. Kevin and Kate bring their families together for dinner.

My Thoughts:

Phylicia Rashad returns to This Is Us as Beth's mother and I can not wait to see her once again. I thought her performance in last season was so good that I had her already winning the Emmy for Guest Actress in a Drama series. Also, I wonder how the dinner with Kevin and Kate will go down as they meet the new big three.

This Is Us returns next Tuesday, March 16th at 9/8c on NBC.

I can't wait for the return of One Chicago after a nice two-week hiatus break.  Looks like when the shows return next week that we'll be getting more great drama. Steven Webber returning to NBC as Ethan's Navy colleague. I wonder what will the outcome be with Dr. Charles's custody battle for his daughter. Could Maggie be given Auggie the chance to be with his brother?
Also, Old Romance vs New Competition with Natalie as her mother comes into the ED and it's not just for a visit.  Crockett getting a bit jealous of how Will has been comforting Natalie during her mother's stay at Med. #TeamManstead all the way!
I'm already looking forward to Fire with Severide's story of this certain place that has given him mixed emotions. Wait, Herrmann is going on vacation? I wonder if Granger will fill-in for Herrmann since Casey isn't a liking the fill-in.
Let the jealously of Brett and Granger begin for Casey, I guess. Yikes!
And PD could this be the end of Atwater and Ruzek's partnership? Buckle up this episode will be one wild ride to watch.

This Is Us "The Ride" Episode Preview

Here's a preview of this week's episode of This Is Us.

"The Ride"

A series of car rides propel the Pearson's towards new stages of their lives.

This looks to be another good episode. The ride home after the birth of a child or children is the biggest moment in the parent's lives. While this isn't the first time with Kate and Toby, it is with Kevin and Madison. But the one thing that will be concerning will be Jack's drinking. That's probably the biggest bummer from the promo.

Connecting: This Is Us "In The Room"

Just as we're awaiting the arrivals of the new generation of Persons, this past week's episode might have outshined with another story that's well connected than just being related.

"In the Room" was another amazing and moving hour episode that's while playing with the emotion and sometimes intense. Whether it's Randall and Beth being there for Madison, as she's dealing with intense labor, until (spoiler alert) Kevin gets there in time to see their two kids. Kate thinks that Chloe might have second thoughts, but meets her new baby girl.

Let's not forget seeing Jack and Rebecca taking a trip to the cabin without the kids for the first time; while dealing with a busted pipe that has ruined some of the kid's artwork, except for one. And Kevin and Randall finally having a short talk but meaningful talk.

But while those had such amazing and powerful moments, the one literally really connected to the theme of this episode. The episode tells the story of Nasir and Esther Ahmed from the time that they met, the birth of their son, and learning about the work that Nasir had begun to work, developing a program that will have people connecting virtually through computers.

The story was beautifully well-told and pretty much won over this episode. It's gotta be right up there maybe top five, top three of the best so far this season.

Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10.

Jay's Call: Chicago PD "Equal Justice"

Has Jay taken a play from Voight's playbook? Here's a recap of this week's Chicago PD.

As the Intelligence Unit does a stakeout, their cover gets blown when they spot someone who's taken a car full of heroin. They quickly learn that the man, Lateral Wade, is not only working for the gang but also trying to find his son's killer, who he believes is the gang leader.

Jay and the team try to work with the father, trying to get in with the gang, but they fail after the father sees the gang leader's car. After that deal has failed, Jay learns that the father's son might not have been killed over drugs but of a relationship with a young woman, who happens to be in a relationship with one of the gang members.

Just as the Intelligence Unit made an arrest, gunshots were heard, and they found their suspect dead. Jay spots the runaway car and learns that it's the father. As Jay talks with Voight about the situation, Jay decides to arrest the father, yet tells him to lawyer up and keep quiet.

"Equal Justice" was an excellent episode. Lawrece Gilliard, Jr. was fantastic as Lateral Wade, the father who seeks explanations for the death of his son. Even Jesse Lee Soffer was good, and the bond that the two characters had during this episode was delightful.

It did leave Halstead with a situation that you would think he would just arrest. Still, during that scene, when talking to him about fathers and sons, he had a whole different feeling that not only had him capture Wade but advised him to lawyer up and keep quiet.

Was it a play from Voight's playbook? We have seen it all the time. Had Jay become more like Voight? That's tough to say.

Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

I'm really looking forward to this week's episode so much. I just wonder (if possible) that Kevin will get to Madison before the babies are born. But from the short description of this episode, it looks like he may not.  I'm sure that the writers will have come up with a magical moment.

I just wonder what the milestone moment would be for the flashback storyline in this episode.
