The Pitt (S2, Ep. 9) "3:00pm"

 

The Pitt trades silicon for scribbles in its ninth episode of Season 2, and the result is a pulse-pounding hour of analog anxiety. With the hospital still crippled by a ransomware cyberattack, the staff at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center is forced to ditch their digital systems and go fully analog.

That means ditching every digital crutch at once, pitching the ER into confusion even before anyone has time to grab a clipboard. The logistics bleed in around the edges, scribbled charts, jammed fax machines, as the chaos builds fast. Here's my recap and review. 

Ghosts (S5, Ep. 12) "The List"

A cloud of white powder erupts from an antique box. Sam and Jay freeze in horror as a reviewer watches their dream of a luxury B&B go up in smoke. Before the episode title appears, chaos at Woodstone is clear: it’s a clash between high-class recognition and an old, illegal stash.

This week, Sam and Jay reach for prestige, but ghosts haunted by old grudges emerge. In "The List," a quest for luxury hotel certification nearly spirals out of control. Here's a recap and some thoughts.

One Chicago Crossover: "Reckoning"

 

What would you do if, mid-flight, your airplane fell silent and vanished over Lake Michigan—only for rescuers to discover nearly everyone on board dead, the cause a terrifying mystery? That haunting image is just the first shock to the system in this year’s One Chicago crossover event, "Reckoning." Every so often the Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D. universe pulls out a big crossover, but this three-hour spectacle sets its sights higher than most.

The event kicked off with a chilling mystery in the air, moved into a full-blown medical crisis, and ended with a manhunt tied to a tragedy from decades ago. By the end of the night, the stakes felt bigger than they had in a while for the One Chicago franchise. Here's my recap and review. 

CIA (S1, Ep. 2) "Fatal Defect"

CIA’s second episode, “Fatal Defect,” shifts from spectacle to psychological stakes, delivering strong character drama. The series hits its best when focusing on core relationships rather than gadgets and chases. After a flashy pilot, the slower pace in this episode works well, trading spectacle for tension, and using a grounded espionage case to test Glass and Goodman’s fragile partnership.

The result? A slightly predictable case… but a very intriguing character twist. Here's a quick recap before I break down why this episode stands out.
