The new year brings an exciting new episode of Ghosts, and guess what? There's a surprising secret; even Hetty was in the dark about it! Let’s dive into the recap!
When Hetty discovers how simple it is to explore her ancestry online, Sam eagerly checks to see if she might be linked to royalty. However, she's taken aback when she discovers the truth: she’s related to the Irish ancestor Mary Shaughnessy (although it's pretty exciting to think she's also connected to the actor who played Shane on Days of Our Live). Even though she was unaware of this family secret, Thor had known all along, which left her feeling a bit upset. Thor gently shares his reasons for keeping it from her—after all, he was her imaginary friend, and he still wants to protect her. How thoughtful of him!
Meanwhile, after rejecting title after title, Mark had enough of the silent investor's rejections and demanded to see him. So, what do Sam and Jay do to fix this mess without telling Mark about Issac being the silent investor? They bring Kelsey, the scam artist who tried to con Sam out of the mansion, to help (probably not the best idea, right?). But after meeting with her, Mark gets scammed by Kelsey, and Sam confesses to Mark and Jay (with some improvisational help from the ghosts) about the truth that Jay's dad is the silent investor. Issac understands his overwhelming contributions to Sam, Jay, and Mark. He’s stepping back but wants to keep the table open for any ghosts wishing to join.
"The Not-So-Silent Partner" was a delightful episode filled with hilarious moments! One of my favorite parts was the ghosts playfully feeding Sam ideas about the silent investor. The touching moment between Hetty and Thor, where he opened up about why he kept her ancestry a secret, really tugged at my heartstrings. It’s wonderful to see her learn about Irish culture, and I can't help but wonder what she'll think of Colin Farrell when she sees him in The Penguin! All in all, I give this an 8.5/10.
