Ghosts "Sad Farnsby"/"A Very Arondekar Christmas, Part 1 & 2

Let’s take a moment to look back at episodes seven through nine of season four of Ghosts!

"Sad Farnsby"

Henry Farnsby watches Jay and his crew work at his restaurant like a hawk, searching for any reason to shut it down. However, when Sam tries to connect with Margaret to see if she can ease Henry's anger, he uncovers her sadness toward her husband, eventually leading to her kicking him out of their home.

As Henry stays with Sam and Jay, he and Jay bond over music, becoming jam-bros as they play tunes about heartache. Later, Henry discovers from Margaret that Sam planted the idea in her mind, influenced by the book they read (probably more Margaret than Sam). Quickly, Henry dismisses Jay from the jam-bros, rebranding him as a jam-fo (yeah, that was a bit clever).

Sam encourages Thor to talk (instead of yelling at his son from afar) and asks why Margaret is so upset with Henry. Naturally, it concerns their anniversary (what else could it be?). Sam and Jay plot a dinner for the Farnsbys to meet at the barn for a table to celebrate. Henry becomes nice to Jay (once in this episode, that was a bit nice). Until they learn the meaning of the "anniversary."

Meanwhile, Issac receives his wedding gift from Sam and Jay (even though it was on backorder) as it was a dinosaur bed. After hours of putting it toward thanks to Jay, Issac feels bad for Nigel and gives the bed to him, learning later that Nigel has given it to his soldiers instead. But it was Issac who learned that Nigel had taken up learning about dinosaurs because he wanted to get close to his husband's interest, which leads to them reconnecting (could we see them get back together?).

"Sad Farnsby" is a nice episode that shines in certain moments! Watching Mark Linn-Baker and Kathy Greenwood brings some laughter—they are hilarious! It was pretty enjoyable, especially when we learned about their anniversary (wow, what a twist!). I genuinely hope that Issac and Nigel can rekindle their relationship; it will be interesting to see how things unfold!

Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.

A Very Arondekar Christmas, Part 1 & 2

It's Christmas, and just before Jay's family arrives, Sam and Jay face the challenging task of fixing a broken water heater. However, an electrical shock causes them to pass through Nancy and Pete, sharing the same body. Things get complicated when Jay's parents finally arrive; Champa changes her tune about Sam after realizing she isn't as uptight as previously thought. However, everything shifts when, just as Champa offers to go shopping with Sam, she quickly takes her car and drives past the gate, pushing Nancy back to the ghost area and causing Sam to crash the car.

Next up was the challenge of getting Pete out of Jay! After watching a video about safely removing a ghost from a living body, things turned surprisingly. Jay got pulled out, and suddenly, Pete found himself in control of Jay's body (yikes!). It only gets trickier when Sam hatches a plan to electrocute Jay, but just when it seems things are at their peak, Jay's parents suggest a fun shopping trip together. Pete happily agrees! But that's not all; he discovers that his daughter is moving to Australia, and he tries to find a chance to see her before she leaves. Sam meets up with Pete, and just when they prepare to see her and her son, swap gifts, and share a warm hug, Pete unexpectedly gets pulled out of Jay's body. This leaves Jay looking quite zombie-like (and honestly, zombie Jay is pretty cool, right?). Thankfully, Sam gets Jay back into his body. On Christmas day, after opening up their gifts, Jay reveals to his parents why he is opening up the restaurant and even reveals his name.

Meanwhile, Thor confides in Flower a secret about Sass: he died a virgin. Naturally, Flower attempts to set him up with Carol, which infuriates Sass and makes him upset with Thor. Sass expresses to Flower how Thor broke his trust, but they eventually reconcile after Thor recalls their conversations about Sass's native language.

"A Very Arondekar Christmas" was such a delightful holiday episode of the season! It had so much happening, blending humor and warmth beautifully. I must confess, I got a little teary-eyed during some scenes, especially when Jay shared with his dad why he was opening the restaurant and what his name meant. And, oh, Pete's heartfelt reason for wanting to reunite with his daughter just one last time was truly one of those Hallmark moments that really tugged at my heartstrings! Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.
