When Jay feels down about the success of other restaurants compared to his own, Isaac shares his engaging story about why he strongly dislikes Alexander Hamilton. Let's dive into a recap of this week's episode of Ghost!
The story everyone has been waiting for revolves around the rivalry between Isaac and Hamilton, where Isaac tells Jay a tale that he hopes will inspire him not to focus on the negative aspects of how successful other restaurants are compared to his own. It all ties back to Hamilton stealing Isaac's ruffle.
Isaac describes how he became fixated upon learning that Hamilton had taken his ruffle, which he intended to wear to the gathering with Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, Sam Adams, and others during the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It got so bad that he was to leave the gathering after knocking over a lit candle and pouring beer over the first draft. Yikes!!
When Jay heard that, he took it to heart and tried not to get fixated. But more on this later.
In the meantime, Hetty's husband has returned from hell! It certainly sounds dramatic! Elias returns with an intriguing proposal for the four ghosts: to be his assistants in hell, where they wouldn't have to face suffering or torment. However, Hetty, Trever, and Alberta aren't entirely on board with this idea. Interestingly, Thor is considering it, as he feels his past actions while alive might lead him to accept such a role.
But just when Hetty, Trever, and Alberta see Thor about to agree, they stop him and give him all the examples of why he has changed since his viking days for protecting Hetty during her childhood and more. Thor doesn't agree to Elias' proposal. But will that be the end of Elias?
Later, Jay meets with someone in the PR to help with his business. At first, he feels that he's signing his soul to someone who happens to be Elias in the real world, stealing souls once again, but Jay hesitates to sign. I have a feeling he's going to sign. This isn't good.
"Alexander Hamilton and the Ruffle Kerfuffle" was notably engaging. Elias's proposal to the ghosts emerged as the most intriguing and compelling narrative within the episode. However, the characters Isaac and Hamilton do not meet the expectations that Isaac has established, despite his tendency towards dramatic expression. Whether Thor should accompany Elias proved to be a thoughtful consideration; however, I concur with Hetty and others in asserting that Thor has exhibited substantial personal growth compared to his previous existence.
Overall, I give this episode a 7.7/10.
