I finally caught up with Season 2 of Lioness (formerly Special Ops: Lioness) on Paramount+, and it's a significant step up from Season One. Here are my thoughts.

While the first season had its moments, I found the family drama distracting and uneven. Season two, however, leans hard into richer storytelling and puts its characters front and center on the mission. The turning point? When Joe and her team discover a warehouse full of captive young women, their mission and moral center are split in two.
Zoe Saldana is phenomenal here, and fresh off an Oscar win, she could absolutely add an Emmy nomination. Nicole Kidman and Morgan Freeman have more presence this time around, and Michael Kelly steals the season. Shout-out to new cast member Genesis Rodriguez, whose character adds real tension and complexity, even more so than Cruz did last season.
Overall, I give Season 2 an 8.5/10.
