Double Murder and a New Face: High Potential "Behind the Music"

Things got messy fast in this week’s High Potential. A 911 call led to a murder, a reopened cold case, and a shocking new arrival at Major Case, one that might shake things up for Morgan and the team. Here's my recap and review.

This week’s episode, “Behind the Music,” kicked off with a crazy, confusing case that started with a false 911 call and quickly escalated to a murder,  and that was just the beginning.

The Cold Case Connection

When Morgan and Karadic responded to a 911 call reporting a murder, they discovered the homeowner denied making the call. Hours later, that same person turned up dead. The mystery deepened when the case connected to an unsolved murder of a singer years earlier, both victims worked for the same manager.

The evidence initially pointed to the singer’s manager, who turned out guilty of the original crime. But the present-day murder had a darker twist: it was the singer’s daughter seeking revenge.

A Shocking Introduction

While the team waited for news about Soto’s captaincy, tension filled the air. When the job went to someone else, Morgan encouraged Soto to embrace her anger, and she did. But the real surprise came when Morgan met the new captain in the elevator: an encounter that turned awkward fast when his true identity was revealed.

Final Verdict

“Behind the Music” started out a little scattered but came together into a satisfying mystery with an emotional payoff. The Morgan-Karadic partnership continues to shine, and that ending sets up juicy drama for next week. Overall, I give this week's episode an 8/10.
