The Love and Twist: Chicago PD "Climbing into Bed/You Never Know Who's Who"

It's the event of the fall; Chicago PD pulls a two-hour event that's always, ever worth watching. Ruzek faces trouble from an undercover job that goes wrong and a case that's so strange that it leaves with a twist.

In the first hour, Ruzek is undercover with his CI, meeting a man looking to help with a robbery. Ruzek doesn't have a backup but calls Dawson and tells him the situation. The situation turns left when the guy drives his truck and drives to a dinner.

There, it becomes a blood bath; Ruzek tries to stop him but escapes.

This leads Ruzek to one of the worst moments in his career when the Deputy questions his doings and why he didn't have a backup.

That leads Voight and the team to not only track the guy down but also Ruzek's CI as well. When they got to the CI's girlfriend, they scooped him and had him help get the guy. But it turned out soon that Ruzek's CI was found dead.

They looked up the suspect's bio, found his parole officer, and located where he worked. With a tip that he took a worker's truck, they discovered it at a motel. Halstead, Dawson, and Erin find the suspect in the laundry room beating up the victim's son, who had something to do with the robbery at his parent's diner.

The case closed when the suspect told Ruzek he thought the guys he was working with would cut him off.

At the end of this episode, the fate of Ruzek's career hangs out to be suspended from duty, but they can still help out the Intelligence from the house. That didn't sit well with Ruzek at all.

Burgess tries to help Roman get to his appointment for the boner morrow, but it is canceled. So, with Roman taking some time off, Burgess gets to work with a new partner for a while, and they get a call from a creep watching two kids at the park. It turns out that the guy is dead and in a very protective car.

This brings Voight and the team to take the case and locate the victim's place.

They check the place out, and in one of the most crappy intense scenes, they find a located safe where it leads to a safe room and then goes into another safe where that leads to a giant room full of guns.

With Ruzek off duty, he helps Mouse check the guns and Burgess. The teams search for answers, and as they do, they get word that the body was stolen from Chicago Med.

Voight, Dawson, and Halstead locate where a suspect was found dismantling the body. But was stopped and taken down from Halstead. Then, questioning the suspect, he was told that he works for the CIA and that the victim had given him orders to do so if something happened.

Al took Voight to one of his insights and was told that the victim had not been in any form in the CIA for more than a week. So the victim was playing a fake James Bond and had guys doing a lot of illegal stuff. That's when Lindsay brought in Dr. Charles from Chicago Med to give his input on the suspect and to talk with the victim's man.

With help from the victim's guy, Al pretends to be the guy they're meeting. They go to their meeting spot, and things get fishy when the guy asks Al about the project he and the victim worked on. Al gets shot and broken ribs, but he's okay. But with the guy on the run, Dawson had to do what he had to, and that wasn't him down.

Soon, Voight and the team get word on another guy; this one had them chase him, but Voight, with the plan, has Atwater bring a city truck to take down the guy and his supercar. The guy is arrested and tells Voight that he'll get out and have his badge. Silly dude, he's been played.

Later, Ruzek's suspension was revoked, and he is back to work thanks to Platt. Platt is such a mother to the team as Voight is like a father. Roman took the kid to the station to hang out and got to do some cool things, but sadly, his health took a turn for the worst. Al received the paternity test but threw it away because he didn't need a piece of paper to say if she was his.

And the moment that we've been waiting for Halstead and Lindsay are a couple!!! First, helping her find a couch, then testing the couch, and finally having a drink and leaving early. Linstead is back in business.

I very much enjoyed this series. It's one of the best two hours of television I've watched this season.

I'm happy to see something happen to another character besides Lindsay and Halstead.  I can't wait to see how this affects Ruzek, along with his relationship with Burgess, because something will happen; I just have a feeling.

Overall, I give this Climbing into Bed 8.5/10, and You Never Know Who's Who 9/10.

You can catch Chicago PD on Wednesday nights at 10/9c on NBC.

The Fire Burns Even Higher: Chicago Fire "I Walk Away"

As the arson investigation heats up, the fire burns oh so high for Dawson and Bowden as evidence shows who's behind it.

When a call comes of a man who has his foot smashed from a moving boxcar, the wife of the patient comes forward after seeing how they saved her husband's life. She gives them a video that shows them that House 51 was indeed trying to stop the fire with a resident not carrying.

That's the evidence that Dawson and Bowden need to complete the investigation. As Dawson looks into it, Kelly's study buddy helps out and spots a famous realtor who is the suspect. Dawson gets her reports in order and hands them to Duffy, which he is happy with, but he still needs more evidence instead of going to CPD.

That makes her go to Bowden and show him what she has, and he agrees that this is all enough. Instead of going to the CFD, he goes to the Sun-Times and gives them a report. That sets a backlash, and later, as Bowden goes to Dawson for the evidence, they aren't there.

Meanwhile, Britt is still dealing with the baby John. She's getting so attached and emotional with the kid I thought that she was going to adopt him. Well, it didn't happen, but after almost getting shot, she gets help from Dr. Charles from Chicago Med, who locates the father and tells him about the kid. And it sure made Britt feel like a winner when the father came and held his son.

Casey and Jimmy are building a perfect lieutenant/candidate relationship. It makes me want to think of Benton and Carter's relationship. I'm very much impressed by Steven McQueen's performance and his character. I do think that maybe if he stays alive, he could be in a leading role. But don't tear my head off from that; it's just a thought.

Kelly and Jamie are in a serious relationship when he lets her drive his car and wear his Blackhawks jersey. But as always, it turns south during a news conference of Roger Maddox on his accusation of setting those houses on fire.

But it was at the end that left us on the edge of our seats (this one moved up from second to first level) as Dawson was looking for those files; they were no longer in the computer and not the filing cabinet. Dawson starts to have pain in her stomach. She's gone into early labor. Bowden calls Casey, and we are off to Chicago Med next week.

This episode was outstanding. I'm relieved that Britt has finally found the light of this baby situation. I know she cares a lot, and what she did was a great thing. As I said before, McQueen is growing on me. I love how he talked to the wife of the husband when they had to take the guy's leg off and also stand up to his brother. The guy's gotta fly sometime, right?

It was nice to see Oliver Platt as Dr. Daniel Charlies, who helps Britt with the baby situation. The man breaks the rules to help, and I love it.

Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

You can catch Chicago Fire on Tuesday nights at 10/9c on NBC.

And don't forget to tune in to the Chicago PD two-hour event tomorrow at 9/8c after The Mysteries of Laura on NBC.

Life in Pieces Gets Full Season

Looks like the Short family is staying a little longer at CBS.

The eye network announced on Tuesday that a new freshman sitcom has been picked up for a full season order, bringing it to a total episodes of 22. There's only been five episodes that aired since the series debuted in September.

"Life in Pieces, with one of the best ensemble casts on television, is telling terrific stories in a very unique way, and we're excited to tell many more of them this season, Glenn Geller, President of CBS Entertainment, said in a statement.

The comedy follows a multi-generational family The Shorts, with each episode telling four loosely connected stories about their everyday lives. The cast includes Colin Hanks (Fargo), Betsy Brandt (Breaking Bad & The Michael J. Fox Show), Thomas Sadoski (The Newsroom), Zoe Lister-Jones (Whitney), James Brolin (The West Wing) and Dianne Wiest (Law & Order).

You can catch Life in Pieces on it's new night Thursday, Nov. 5th at 8:30/7:30c on CBS.

Helping the Soul: Blindspot "Cede Your Soul"

An app that puts on a hit, a relationship tries keeping it professional and more issues comes into one agent's life. This week's episode of Blindspot hit's another mark.

When an assassination leads Kurt and Jane to a dangerous app that allows criminals t track down and kill government agents who are protecting in government vehicles. They most work against the clock to use the app and try taking down the creator.

The one clue that helps them with the app is the owl looking figure that so happens to be on Jane's leg. They track down the creator and it leads to a hacker name Ana Montes, who clams that she's working for the CIA but later learned that she was tricked.

The case takes a turn and gets Ana to help. They track down the man that got her to make the app and tracked him down. The suspect is a bit of a step ahead so their plan was to get two steps ahead which was to explode his power source to cause a fire and get him out. The suspect didn't get out so Jane and Kurt goes back and gets him out.

The relationship between Jane and Kurt are being questioned when it gets more personal than professional. Hell, even Mayfair is thinking that Kurt is getting to personal with Jane. It surely shows but it's not an issue for me. I enjoy watching these two go at it when they try to solve these mysterious tattoos and what happen to Jane.

Kurt's sister gets him to come back home where their father is there. Kurt accepts and sits with them at the table and tells him about how Taylor was found alive. It really look like a ton of weigh has been lifted off of him, since he's dying of cancer.

Zapata deals with her gambling demons and paying her debuts little by little. That payment comes from the CIA work from given information on Jane and the investigation.

Also questions are being asked when Patterson talked to Kurt about information that she had found and hopes to do something but when he asked her to talk to Mayfair about it. Patterson explained that she would but hasn't shown anything. A lot of interesting tips of information has gone towards Mayfair and sure hasn't done anything about it. What the hell is she hiding? We do know about Project Daylight.

And also who's the mysterious man with the tree tattoo on his arm? We see him in the first scene of the episode and the final scene as well. Was that a dream that Jane had with this guy or was it real?

This episode had me on the edge of my seat once again. I enjoy watching the characters of Jane and Kurt grow and learn from one another as each episode goes on. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Patterson and Ana in this episode. Watching two solve the case, makes me wonder if Ana should stay and work with the FBI along with Patterson. Two heads are better than one.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Blindspot Monday nights at 10/9c on NBC.

Look Up in the Sky!!!: Supergirl "Pilot"

Hey, look what premiered on CBS; it's not about a bird, it's not about an airplane, it's about Supergirl!!! (Come on, I had to make something work, no matter how cheesy it chimes).

The premiere of Superman's cousin aired Monday night, and the series didn't disappoint, but there are a couple of issues.

We learn the whole origin story within five minutes of the pilot, which is the quickest way. Knowing that when Kara, who was 12 years old, was sent right after Superman left Krypton, but a detour had her stay in time for 24 years and soon came to Earth. Superman rescues her and places them with a family.

Now Kara is an assistant at CatCo, working for Cat Grant, one of the series' Pain in the Neck boss. She seems to be the awkward female that you would see in a romantic comedy, and soon, she'll turn into someone much better. That's kind of what I've got from watching this version.

Kara wants to do something more; she wants to help, and being an assistant isn't quite what she hoped for. That all changed when her sister was on a plane and rescued her and the rest of the passengers. She's excited about what she has done for National City and what to do more, but Alex doesn't think it's a great idea.

That seemed to change after going through a few tests of stopping a robbery and car chase when she battles with Vartox, one of many villains who had escaped from the prison her mother put in. At first, their battle didn't go so well, but come the second round, Kara is still learning what she can still do in action.

With the villains on the run on Earth, the mastermind beyond all this comes from a family member of Kara's aunt, Astra, who seeks to make Kara pay for her mother's sins.

The characters in this series are fascinating, from Jimmy Olsen, who seems to be Kara's mentor, to Kara's sister Alex, who happens to be secretly working for the Department of Extra-Normal Operations, trying to keep Kara down from not using her powers but soon encourages her. Henshaw seems to be the total badass who will treat Kara with little respect because she's an alien.

I did get a hoot when Dean Cain and Helen Slater played Superman and Supergirl. CRAZY!!!

I'm very invested in the series. I see there's a bit of a feminist theme going on, but that's not a massive issue for me at all. I think CBS should at least push the envelope and make it darker, like Arrow. But I think the show will grow as time goes and it will get a bit better.

Melissa Benoist is amazingly outstanding as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl. She brings, I think, not only a new but a fresh look of a hero who still has a lot to learn from being a superhero, even though she's a bit of one of those rom-com girls at first.

Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.

You can catch Supergirl on Monday nights at 8/7c on CBS.
