Still the Best Show on TV: Superstore Season 3 (Episodes 8-14)

If you're not watching Superstore Thursday nights on NBC, you're missing out on a lot of fun and smart comedy. Here's a catch up of the season so far (mainly episodes 8-14).

Amy has been trying to live in the moment and prove that her post-divorce isn't dragging her down. She tries to prove that it's easy to make a viral video which didn't help Cloud 9 with he many rats that could be seen in one video. Even trying to throw a Golden Globes party but it didn't go well and had to enlist both Dina and Jonah's help when her barbecue doesn't go well.

In the meantime, Glenn and his wife decide to have a baby of their own, but later learn that she can't conceive. So they look for a surrogate and when Glenn discuses with Cheyenne about it, she offered to do it. That changed when Glenn realized that she really was doing it out of kindness but not the right reasons. But in the end Dina agrees to be Glenn's surrogate.

Also, Mateo, who's been dealing with his undocumented status throughout the season, faces his biggest challenge yet when Jeff offers him money in exchange for not suing the store. While things with Cheyenne and her mother have been rocky, they grow closer with the help from Amy.

Kelly and Jonah have been quite the item during this part of the season, making Amy a bit jealous over their relationship. But it turns out that Amy and Jonah's relationship has been growing under the radar for their coworkers and to them as well as Jonah helps Amy secure a copy of a video game that she enjoyed. But when Dina sees what's going between them and keeps it a secret but that secret is out when Dina tries to show a video of the security camera that caught the two at the end of season 2 kissing. 

Season 3 of Superstore has been a home run so far with great ensemble cast performance and the  writing has never been stronger than before. America Ferrera has been amazing this season with her performance as Amy and not to mention got to directed "Video Game Release" was really good. So far he Jonah and Amy relationship has been boiling over to this point and I can't wait to see after last week's episode will take in tonight's new episode. Overall, I give the show so far a 9/10.

Be Prepared: The Blacklist "Pattie Sue Edwards (No. 68)"

A deadly outbreak is spreading in a way that's uncommon, while Liz and the FBI team up with Singleton to find Tom's killer. The ending of this episode will leave you in a thrilling state of mind.

The FBI is dealing with a mass outbreak biochemical weapon, but what they figure out about this Blacklister is that she is out for information and revenge for the death of her husband. Pattie goes after one of the men who had her husband killed and get him to confess about it by threatening him with the deadly virus. But at one point, her plan fails and the two have to travel together to get the antidote, but Ressler and Samar are standing in their way.

After understanding Pattie's actions, Ressler comes close to them and try getting the guy to confess on his wrong doings. Soon after he confesses, they are taken in and treated.

Meanwhile, Red must deal getting audit and tries to get the auditor to turn around and walk away, even helped the guy's son get into the school of his dream. But that all turned away when another auditor comes and when you think that things were going to burn for Red's business, it goes the complete opposite. The auditor comes the next day and tells Red that they'll have to wait due to their office burning down.

As for Liz, who teams up with Singleton to find one of the men that help kill Tom. Singleton gives some information on the syndicate and helps Liz spy on one of the men, but things get complicated and Liz turns to Aram for help to trace the call that the man was on with that turned out to be someone from Singleton's office. Liz calls Singleton to tel him about it and that she was calling them. Singleton locates the phone in Ian Garvey's desk and soon Liz gets a notified about a dead body that turns up to be Singleton.

I thought that this episode was another good one from start to finish. The case of the week was another good one with a deadly virus and a very understanding purpose for the character to do so. I thought the Red situation with the Auditor was suppose to go the other way with Red burning down his business instead of burning down the auditor's office and not to mention Singleton, who I thought was another bad guy, turns out to get killed from Garvey after the trace to his phone from Liz. The Liz story arc as been nothing but amazing with piece by piece of thrilling moments and unbelievable twist. We're coming to where Liz and Garvey might be head on facing one another, but I think Red will be the one in between trying to make a deal, mostly with Garvey. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

Take a Deep Breathe: This Is Us "The Wedding" Season Finale

The season finale of This Is Us, left us grabbing tissues and not to mention some surprises into what happens in the next season.

It's Kate and Toby's wedding and things were looking up til Kate was missing her something old: her dad's old Dayton shirt. With Kevin and Randall handing the wedding stuff, they look for something old that belongs to Jack. But Kate goes on herself a journey not only to find something that connected her with her dad, from the ice cream shop to the stump in the woods where they talked. This going while she talked to Rebecca about these dreams (flashbacks) of the wedding but it was Rebecca and Jack's renewing their vows with everyone there, except for Toby. What could that mean? That Toby isn't the one? He won't live as long as Jack?

In the meantime, Randall and Beth try to handle with the Deja situation as she's showing no interest of going to the wedding. As Beth reconnects with her cousin, her cousin talked with Deja of her experience with her mother leaving her. Thing were going good until Toby's mother makes a comment that she looked like Randall and after that it was Deja pulling a scene from Beyonce's Lemonade video.

With where this season took these characters, it felt that they've come to acceptance of their father's death and who they are as Kevin and Randall making a great toast to Kate and Toby. But as the episode comes to an end, we see flash forward of Randall with Tess asking if she's ready to see her (who? Beth? Deja?), Kate walking into the bedroom of Toby, who doesn't look too good, in bed, and Kevin on a plane looking at a photo of his dad and uncle from Vietnam along with Beth's cousin.

I'd very much enjoyed this episode like every other episode this season. This seemed like a bit of that cherry on top with the stomach for wanting more when finished. I thought the writing was strong and the performances from the cast was amazing. I think that this was Chrissy Metz's best episode performance. Not to mention Chris Sullivan, who's scene with Toby's parents was so good as he stand up to Kate after they didn't think she was the right person for him. I literally couldn't get enough of Kevin and Randall's scenes in this episode from trying to find something old for Kate to trying to find Kate. Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10 also the season a 10/10.

The Show to Watch: Champions "Pilot" Series Premiere

The latest NBC comedy series, Champions premiered last Thursday and it's with all strides as the best new comedy of the season.

Created by Charlie Grandy and Mandy Kaling, the pilot opens up as Vince, a gym owner in Brooklyn, NY along with his brother, Matthew, is about to give up his life for a new one in Florida. But when Priya, an ex high school girlfriend, comes by with a surprise that he has a 15 year old son, Michael, who needs to find a place to stay during the audition process at the Academy of Arts.

After taking him in, things don't go that well when Michael feels that Vince doesn't want him around and that he spilled the beans about selling the gym in front of his brother. Vince comes to terms, finds Michael and gives him the courage at his audition, even though he was a half hour late. When the Academy accepts Michael and tells Vince that there's a place for Michael to stay, he tells them that Michael will be staying with him, but will keep the address in mind for later.

I'm in love with Champions. It's one of the best new shows on the season. The pilot was well written and perfectly told of about these characters of who they are, what their conflict is and their triumph of over coming with inspiration and humor. The cast is amazing from Anders Holm and Andy Favreau, Fortune Feimster and Mindy Kaling, but it's J.J. Totah who shines as the star of the show. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

Life In Pieces "Parents Ancestry Coupon Chaperone"

From trying to keep calm for their parents to learning that coupons aren't great as gifts to that, DNA testing sucks. Life in Pieces makes another good episode this week.

There were a lot of hits and only a miss in this week's discussion episode of Life in Pieces. Jen's Parents visiting for a while gets Jen and Greg to tag team so none of them would go wild. But it turns out that the tag caused them to stay a while longer because they think that their marriage is in jeopardy.

While learning about a family story, Joan and Sophie do a family DNA testing. They know that the family member that Joan considers to have the most incredible love story ever told happens to be a sham when a great uncle married her niece when she was a baby, who happens to be the person she was talking about, which was probably one of the funniest stories in the episode.

Matt gives Colleen her birthday gift of coupons for what he could do to help her. But instead of complaining about them, she puts them to good use and gives Matt the total runaround of chores. The episode ends with Matt learning that coupons are the worst birthday gift, and Colleen gives Joan her coupon for Matt to do the dishes in a French maid outfit.

The last story might have been missed in this episode, but it was still funny. At Sam's poem night at school, Tim and Heather try to give her space while Heather reunites with a high school crush who's playing. Tim gets jealous, Heather is upset, and the two act like total teens and seek advice from Sam and her date. But Tim makes her move and wins her over, and dances the night away very awkwardly.

"Parents Ancestry Coupon Chaperone" was another well-written and well-performed, mostly Dianne Wiest, whose Joan stole the episode in the family history and the coupon used on Matt. Colin Hanks and Zoe Lister-Jones were funny, as usual. Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.

Date Night: A.P. Bio " Dating Toledoans"

When it gets tiresome traveling back and forth from Toronto to New York City for dating,  Jack decides to try Toronto for a change and learns about who matters first: friends or a girlfriend.

After a date night turned bad for Jack, he realized that traveling from Toronto to NYC is just too difficult to do, so with the help of the teachers he's taken his dating search to Toronto. After the first night, it didn't work to well with what he was selling, but when it came on the second time, he meets with someone that's up his alley. But he turns her down after making fun of his friends, the teachers, about how stupid they look, which they were just having fun. Jack goes back to them with four shots and began a night of fun.

In the meantime, Principle Durbin gets jealous over how Helen was hilarious during the school announcements and tries to punish her by acting mean stricken towards her. But when she finally confronted him about it and pulled off an amazing soap opera moment that had everyone watching in their classrooms.

"Dating Toledoans" was another hilarious episode with good character development. I couldn't get enough of Paula Pell's Helen when she did the announcements for the first time, not to mention her and Patton Oswalt doing that soap opera style apology that the school watched. But mostly I loved the interactive between Jack and his students when discussing about having a relationship and having a crush on someone. The writing was good and the performances was good as well from Allisyn Ahsley Arm, Jacob Houston and Sari Arambulo, Oswalt and Pell. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

Being In Two Places at Once: The Blacklist "Mr. Raleigh Sinclair III (No. "

Things take a turn in this episode of  The Blacklist.

When Red helps the team steer on an asset that helps someone who's wants to kill his wife because of cheating. The asset helps the man by finding an airtight alibi for him. The team and Red hunt the man down together but on separate terms but Red finds Sinclair first and takes him to chat about a deal to work for him. But the FBI get the guy who was caught trying to kill his wife/girlfriend in the parking deck.

Meanwhile, with Liz coming back to the FBI, she needed to talk to the FBI therapist. But this one was a challenge as she tested her mind about her revenge on Tom's death. But Liz broke through and told her what she is and will always be: a mother, an agent and a widow. But the most interesting and the highlight of the episode comes to Liz and Red having a therapy session as daughter and father.

But Liz catches the officer that's been sneaked in her apartment last week and comes to agreement to work together on the case with her and the FBI, which I find really creepy and worrisome thinking that this could be a setup for Ian's team to take the advantage. But this is the Blacklist and we all would have to think beyond what we see.

This was another good episode. The writing was good and the performance was still at it's level. Overall, I give the episode a 8/10.
