Respecting and Deciding: Life In Pieces "Demo Nosebreath Surgery Match"

Image result for Life In Pieces Demo NoseBreath surgery match

From supporting wives for their needs to supporting their sons in their dreams. Here's a recap!

When Tim learns that Tyler's band played to no one at their gig, he tries to be the better parent than his parents were to support him. Tim rents a recording studio from a patient and gets Tyler to record his song. But as Tyler tries to sing, he starts crying and figures out that he's not a great singer and even gets a second opinion from Tim and the guy who's recording. But this leads Tim to go after his dream to jump off the high dive, which he did.

Jen is going through a rough pregnancy, and Greg isn't helping. Just from the smell coming from Greg's breath, she asked him to wear a mask and stop sounding words with S's. But it's when Jen turns down the temperature in the house to 62 that causes Greg to blow it as he wears a parka and can't sit on the toilet with the house being ice cold. After seeing how Jen gets motion sickness, Greg finally caves in, and as he comes home the next night, he eats his food outside.

Joan had surgery on her leg after the incident in the previous episode. As she comes home, John tries to take care of her, which she's pretty shocked and lets him do. She's even shocked to see how John brings up food and other things, but Heather is doing all the work. John pushes Heather too much and finally confesses to Joan. As much as Joan should have been upset with John, she wasn't as she was happy.
Colleen and Matt meet with an expecting mother, Morgan, who's looking to give her baby up for adoption. As they talk and give her a book of photos of what kind of people they are, their chances are low when Morgan meets with another set of parents. Matt and Colleen get worried but soon melt away when Morgan tells them she wants to give her baby to them because one of the photos they showed her reminded her of her relationship with her father.

"Demo Neosebreth Surgery Match" is another fantastic episode. Even though I find the Tim and Tyler story average, it had its moments but didn't deliver an ending. The Jen-Greg and John-Joan stories were hilarious and held up better. But Matt and Colleen's story had me thinking that this adoption would go south, but it didn't. For the last season, Matt and Colleen's journey to have a family has been a rollercoaster ride; knowing they are almost there is a breathtaking moment. The character development in this episode was perfect for Jen and Greg, John and Joan, and even Matt and Colleen. The writing was good as well. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

A Not-So Family Vacation: Life In Pieces "Jungle Push Resort Anniversary" Season Premiere

Image result for life in pieces jungle push resort anniversary

In the season premiere of Life In Pieces, a family vacation in the wildernesses isn't all that is cracked up to be. Here's a recap!

In the season premiere, The Short Family celebrates John and Joan's 50th wedding anniversary by taking a family vacation to Mexico. As Joan and John were excited, the rest weren't. From Jen and Greg dealing with Lark and the stuffed armadillo that she mispronounces, they even lose it in the jungle, which leaves Greg to look for it in the dark of night, which is so wild and hilarious.

Meanwhile, Sophia isn't too thrilled that everyone gets to go on a fun adventure while she gets to hang out with her mother. As they prepare for the "Fashion in the Jungle," she opens up to her dad, and he tells her the truth about not wanting to be her baby anymore. That leads to Sophia trying the ziplines, but as she tries to stop from going down, her mother lets her go.

Instead of staying in a hot and sticky room where animals can crawl into your face, Matt and Colleen found a way to enjoy the family vacation: staying at a better hotel with room service and air conditioning. But when Greg, Heather, and Tim found out, everyone expected John and Joan to live it up, even if it's coming out of Colleen's credit card and Tim gets tipsy.

As for John and Joan, as they sleep in a bunk bed, they try to have fun. Even when they tour the jungle, John takes her on a detour to a wilder adventure that leads them lost. But when they find the road and a bus, they see that the whole family is returning and take Colleen's offer of staying at the hotel while the rest of the family stays at the jungle cabins.

"Jungle Push Resort Anniversary" was a hilarious and wonderful season opener. From the beginning to the end, the episode brought many fun moments and even some memories of my family vacation. Each story moment in the attack was equally better, but even if I had to pick, I would have to go with Greg and Jen's quest to get the armadillo back for Lark. Even Sophia and Heather's story moment was excellent and memorable. And what can you not say about John and Joan's moment that ended on a high note? The writing was good, and the character development was too.  The performance of the cast was outstanding. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10

When the school gets a motivation speaker, it so happens to be a former high school bully of Jack's. Can Jack stop him from spreading lies or will he get revenge on him? Here's a recap!

When Jack saw that all the students and staff are at the gym and listening to a motivation speaker; it so happens to be a former high school mate of Jack's that was a bully. Jack tries to find a way to find the truth that his former classmate didn't climb the highest mountains and lost his toe. But it gets shut down and even worst gets to motivate the staff at the high school.

But when Jack's class not only learned of this but sees it; they spring into action that they stool the bully's toe. Soon after, Jack and the class headed back to the gym for another motivational talk but instead bullied him out of the school.

Meanwhile, Stef gets Mary and Michelle motivated by taking what is theirs. With Mary, she always apologizes but this time she doesn't and gets away with it. While, Michelle, who gets pushed around one too many times, fights back that even pushes a student with a broken leg down.

And Ralph tries to give Helen a raise, but she hasn't taken one for years. He tries to reason with her but instead, she doesn't. But have no fear as Ralph pulls off a sneaky way by telling Helen that she won a prize of three large rolling suitcases that could be hers if she accepts her raise; in which she does.

"Personal Everest" was a very good episode from start to finish. It had some really good moments from Jack meeting with the old schoolmate in the bathroom, or Jack's students watching him get bullied in front of them. Hell, watching Michelle rule the school hallways really had me laughing out of my seat. But the one that really got me was the students districting Jack's bully by stealing his toe and given it to Jack to use it. Also, that hug at the end when Jack's bully ran off was a touching moment too.

This episode really made me think of how different his show is and how it's like the fun version of Magic School Bus in a way. Anyway, I thought the episode had very good character development and the performances from the ensemble cast were very good too. Overall, I give it an 8.5/10.

Battle for Approval: Brooklyn Nine-Nine "The Bimbo"

When Kevin asked Jake to take a case, it's a personal matter why Holt isn't asked. While it's game on for who's got the better lunch date between Amy and Terry. Here's a recap!

When Jake gets asked by Kevin about a case of three missing coins, Jake wonders why didn't he asked Holt to take it. Kevin doesn't want to ask Holt because of his embarrassment with Dean Allister. But Holt finds out about Jake and Kevin meeting and takes on the case with Jake. That's until Jake and Holt talk to Allister about the missing coins and Holt loses his confidence, but after finding a clue of a footprint Jake and Holt confront the Dean and accuse him of stealing the coins.

Later Jake confronts Holt about the embarrassment that he just went through again. Holt uses Jake's advise and figured out who actually stole the coins that turn out to be the janitor. Later Kevin shows his temperament to the dean and even shows his feelings towards Holt.

Meanwhile, Amy and Terry take the crew out for lunch but it gets competitive from taking them out to a steakhouse to corny dogs and karaoke. But the crew and staff have had enough and decides to leave them, but Terry and Amy apologies.

"The Bimbo" was a very good episode. I just loved how the episode really puts Holt on the spot about an incident that made him vulnerable and not to mention his relationship with Kevin grows as well. Even Jake giving Holt some advice about dealing with fancy professors was a funny and special moment. The lunch fight was a very good storyline and so interesting to see how they went from low call to up the game. Which team would you pick to go to lunch with? I might have to with Amy. The episode had strong character development and the writing was solid.  Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

Personal Growth: Brooklyn Nine-Nine "The Therapist"/"Casecation"

"The Therapist"

As Jake deals with one of his enemies, Holt tries to meet Rosa's girlfriend and Terry deals with a personal matter. Here's a recap!

As Jake is asked to help on a case that involves a Therapist; who's worried about his patient killing another patient. Of course, Jake doesn't like therapists, but even more this one and he believes that after looking into the suspect's apartment that the therapist could be the suspect.

Soon Jake sneaks in the therapist's office and found his notes on the patents. After trying to sneak out, he gets stopped by another therapist who thinks she's her new client who has a multiple personality disorder. But as soon as the suspect leaves, Jake leaves and doesn't escape with the evidence quietly as the therapist stops him and takes him on a ride; but he gets stopped by Charles after Jake text without looking.

Meanwhile, Holt invites Rosa and her girlfriend to dinner with his husband; but she doesn't want to because of Holt's judgmental comments. Soon he meets her and it turns out that he was being tested with an actress, but later on, Holt finally meets Rosa's girlfriend and enjoys her sense of humor.
Also, Amy hands over a box order of books that have Terry's name on it as it's for how to spice up your sex life. Terry denies the whole thing that he doesn't need help in the bedroom, but after having Scully pretend that the book was his, it's true for Terry.

I will admit that at first "The Therapist" didn't grab my attention at first but after watching it over and over again I really enjoyed it. There were good moments and moments that I kind of forget that had happened in this episode mainly the Terry storyline.

I thought that the Jake storyline in this episode was outstanding with such strong character growth; as Jake deals with a murdering therapist but also admits that he needs to see a therapist. And the Holt and Rosa storyline was probably a better highlight of the episode than what it was shown. It not only made me laugh but broke my heart and warmed my heart by the end. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

"Casecation"

With a witness under protection in the hospital; it's a casecastion for Jake and Amy that leads to one of the most personal matters in their marriage.  Here's a recap!

With a witness is in the hospital;  Jake and Amy work together to protect from whoever is trying to get him killed. This gives them finally the time to spend together; calling it a "casecation."  Amy soon drops a bombshell to Jake that she wants to plan to start on their family, but Jake isn't too thrilled about it; soon gets into a modified debate. After Holt and many, many others being the moderator, Jake finally admits why he doesn't want to have kids; he's afraid that he could be just like his dad, who wasn't a good one.

So a suspicious person comes on the floor and Rosa and Amy took down, but he was only a distraction. As soon as Jake and Terry walk towards them; Jake figures out who the hitman would be, Pam, one of the patients at the hospital. It turned into a standoff and Jake talks her down and was handed the gun.
When things were cooling down; Jake tells Amy that he doesn't need to think about having a baby anymore that he's ready. He decided after handling the situation with Pam that he could actually be good at parenting. And all things end very well.

"Casecastion" was another great installment episode. I could eat this episode up so much with the character development of Jake and Amy. I think that Jake was the focus of the episode with his decision to whether he wants to have a family with Amy or not. Personally, I understand Jake's thoughts on the situation with his dad issues and all.

This episode was another milestone moment in the series. I think that maybe by the time the season ends Amy and Jake will begin their family. Amy Samberg gives an amazing performance. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

Through the Lens: A.P. Bio "Melvin"

Image result for A.P. Bio Melvin

While Jack deals with an older neighbor; Ralph must try to find a way to save money during school photo day. Here's a recap!

When Jack had enough of his elderly neighbor, Melvin (played by Christopher Llyod). After dealing with Melvin's shenanigans that includes during a so-called "hangout" with Lynette. He teams up with Lynette and his students to kidnap his dog and leave him a ransom note.

But after a day or two, as Jack drops off Melvin's dog, he and Lynette get stopped when they see police and ambulance at Melvin's place and learn that Melvin had died. It wasn't a broken heart but died choking on a piece of chicken. But Melvin leaves a letter to Jack thanking him for one hell of a great time back and forth each other or tormenting.

Meanwhile, Ralph learned that their photographer had raised his price to do the school photos. So Ralph decides to do the photos himself, but within two days he only took four photos of one student and three teachers. After realizing the situation, Ralph picked up the pace and took every single photo of the students, even though most of them probably won't turn up good at all.

As for Melvin's dog, Jack decided to give the dog to Dale, the janitor. Dale thinks that the dog was his mop that another janitor put in the magic dumpster. As Dale takes close to the dog, at the end of the episode he puts in a mannequin of a boy and soon the dumpster lights up.

I couldn't get enough of "Melvin" as it probably has to rank up there in the top three episodes of the season so far. As much as I couldn't get enough of Jack and Lynette chemistry. I really enjoyed the group of them and the students working together. Not to mention the chemistry between Howerton and Christopher Lylod was amazingly hilarious.

And the scenes with Ralph, Helen, and the teachers were probably one of the best moments of the season so far. And poor Dave, right? The writing was brilliant and the performances were amazingly great! Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

First Day: Superstore "Salary"

Image result for superstore salary episode

"Salary" was another stellar episode that had some moments of predictability but really carried it with moments that weren't. As Amy starts her first day as a manager, she learns the perks of the job, mainly her salary. But when she accidentally allows her contract to be read out loud; it becomes an issue with the staff. One moment comes when Marcus tells that his salary is almost that same amount and Glenn realized that mistake. Meanwhile, Mateo tries to win over Amy to become her replacement as a floor manager with moments of acting like a floor manager. Glenn doesn't seem to be unhappy for the downgrading his job as he shows his happiness with Garrett, who's telling him that working here is never happy.

I still enjoyed the episode from the beginning to the end. While it still had moments that were seen coming a mile away; like when Mertie accidentally takes Amy's contract instead of announcements. But there were moments that shine like the employees discussing salaries, Glenn's moments throughout the episode and Dina upset with Jonah for not taking her side and she tries to get him to cheat on Amy with guest star Alison Haislip, which was amazing. The writing was good and the performances from the cast were amazing. The character development for Amy and Glenn was just amazing. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

You can catch Superstore Thursdays at 8/7c on NBC.
