Guess what? St. Denis Medical has returned! Let’s dive into a delightful recap of episodes seven and eight!
"50 CC's of Kindness"
When two inmates come to St. Denis Medical for treatment, Alex and Matt try to prove to Ron that they can help resolve the inmates' conflict. But it fails after trying to sing a song to bring them into the same room together. But it was Ron who got everything going...for a while when he reasoned with them with sushi. That is until they fought over the last piece of sushi, which didn't go well.
Meanwhile, Serena is helping Bruce with a little challenge: donating blood! Bruce feels anxious about the needle, so he decides to practice using one of the dummy arms for the donation. However, things don’t go quite as planned! Oh no, Bruce. Let’s try to be gentle and not scare the little one!
Additionally, when the inmate arrived, Joyce experienced a dramatic moment when a guard intervened after she was kicked by another inmate. This incident sparked her curiosity about him, leading her to initiate a conversation and even offer him a potential job at the hospital if he ever considers opportunities beyond his current situation.
"50 CC's of Kindness" was a fantastic episode to start the new year! It had a nice flow with the Alex-Matt-Ron conflict as they worked to resolve the issue with the inmates that landed them in the hospital. The moments with Bruce and Serena were simply hilarious! And I can’t help but laugh every time I see Lawson freak out; it’s just so entertaining! Even rewatching the part where he goes for the alcohol wipe gives me a good surprise! I'm curious who will play him after seeing Joyce chat with the jail guard and mention her boyfriend. How about you?
Overall, I’d rate this episode a cheerful 9/10!
"Gimme the Scuttlebutt"
Joyce realizes that there’s some dating happening among the employees in the hospital, and she feels a bit left out of all the interesting chatter. Eager to be in the loop, she gathers everyone to sign forms for the juicy gossip. Things twist when Bruce encourages everyone to fill out the forms with the names of potential couples. However, when Val lists everyone except Bruce on her list of people she would be attracted to, it sparks his determination to win her attention, even when Dr. Taylor tries to get him to lunch.
At the same time, Alex realizes that she and her husband, Tim, have been missing their special connection. Wanting to change that, she gets Serena's help, adding a little spice. However, when Tim arrives at the hospital, Alex is pulled away from work. They detour and find the cozy VIP suite, where, just as they begin to reconnect, Joyce walks in unexpectedly.
"Gimme the Scuttlebutt" was such a fun and entertaining episode! It was fascinating to watch Bruce become so determined to make it onto Val's list despite all the playful antics. And I loved the hilarious way Joyce tries to dive into the hospital's hot gossip instead of just having a regular chat with everyone. It really added to the charm of the episode! Plus, there's that charming little side story about Matt and Serena! When Serena casually asks Matt to hook up later while giving Alex an example, it adds so much depth to their characters. It highlights Matt's crush on her and makes their interactions even more fun!
Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.
