Recap: Ghosts "T Daddy"

When Trevor strains his relationship with his daughter, it also puts Sam and Jay in a tough spot. Here's a recap and review of Ghosts, "T Daddy."

Trevor's plan to shower Abby with gifts doesn't go smoothly. Sam tries to find out what Abby actually wants to do, but her goal to pursue a career in finance is muddled. The misunderstanding peaks when Sam misinterprets Abby, who is driving the Porsche while talking about wanting to study in France. Trevor takes the news poorly and tries to sabotage her study abroad plans. Sam foils his scheme by confronting Trevor. Abby overhears and opens up to her father, sharing that because he died young, he never got to live or explore. She wants to pursue this, even if she fails. Trevor relents and agrees to pay for everything.

Meanwhile, Jay faces intense pressure from the restaurant staff to secure a much-needed pay raise. He tells them they simply don't have the money due to other expenses, like fixing the restaurant's roof. This quickly backfires when they see Sam driving the Porsche around the area, leading the staff to go on a Union strike.

Even after the Porsche is sold, the strike continues. Jay takes Hetty's unconventional advice: give the workers fake positions that make them feel important. They proudly accept the titles, with one worker even receiving an "executive position for chips."

"T Daddy" was a hilarious half-hour of comedy that flew by too quickly. It included some nice character development for Trevor and Abby, adding emotional weight to Trevor's journey to be a better father. The episode also provided excellent material for Jay, dealing with his staff's union strike, and highlighted Sam's fleeting obsession with the Porsche.

It’s such an enjoyable watch that keeps you engaged throughout! The one-line jokes really hit the mark, from Pete's repeated arrow bit and Jay's amusing take on Trevor's wealth, to Isaac's brilliant Ben Franklin joke, which had me laughing out loud. The only minor, baffling issue was seeing Hetty awkwardly go around the car to get in with Sam, breaking the ghost illusion for a moment. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

What did you think of this week's episode? What do you think of Jay's solution to the union strike, and what job title do you think you'd hold at the Woodstone Restaurant? Leave a comment.

You can catch Ghosts Thursdays at 8:30/7:30c on CBS and streaming the next day on Paramount+.

  1. Two things wrong: Sam was driving and the roof hole was at the restaurant. Enjoyable episode.
