Real Reason: Chicago Fire "Then Nick Porter Happened"

Someone's been crying wolf with the Firehouse 51, but who could it be?

When Firehouse 51 gets a call from a school's fire alarm being pulled, the headmaster tells them it was a false alarm. But that didn't sit well with Boden, Casey, and Severide, and they get a house call of a father being trapped under a water heater, which would have taken longer to get him out if they didn't waste time with the false alarm.

After that call, Saveride learns that the school has had three other false alarms within the month, which leads them to investigate it. After trying to use their method of ways, they get a tip from a student who doesn't quite like the ways there. When 51 gegotnother called, they checked allele cameras and did a search, which led to a habit of boyboyho popping the fire alarm because he was being bullied.

Meanwhile, the rent at Cruz's apartment wasn't going well with Bret, and he began to look for a third renter. Mouch gives them the idea for Nick Porter, who's been through a nasty divorce. While there, Bret and Cruz weren't too happy having Nick around with his classic NASCAR videos and remembering the good old days with his wife. Brett and Cruz get Mouch to ask Nick's wife if she can take him back. After accepting him back, Nick leaves, and F andoster lives with Brett and Cruz.

"Then Nick Porter Happened" was an excellent episode from start to finish. At first, the whole alarm thing at the school seemed pointless,t but after watching, it had a new meaning. Good writing and solid character development. Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.

Tension in the Air: Chicago Fire "Hold Our Ground"/"Where We End Up"

"Hold Our Ground" 

In the winter premiere of Chicago Fire, Severide's life is on the line, plus tension between two colleagues builds, and 51 takes down a robber. Here's a recap!

Picking up where we left off, Severide and the arsonist suspect are in the basement and are fighting to get out due to being a lit fire there; Severide saves him and is reprimanded back to Firehouse 51, but the partnership with Wagner is put in question with Kidd, but Severide takes care of that.

Meanwhile, Firehouse 51 learns they'll be sharing districts with Firehouse 20, and some aren't too happy, like Gallo. But after a call of an accident, Truck 81 lost its tool and learned that someone had stolen it to use it to break into ATMs. Gallo and Casey work together to figure out the guy; it turns out that they would meet that guy after being diverted on a call thanks to Firehouse 20. More on that later!

After the first accident, as 51 returned to the station, Mouch had a letter stuck to his boot and tried to bring it back to the post office but wouldn't take it. Mouch tries his best to figure out how to get an address, but with the help of Ritter, Mouch gets that letter delivered home to the wife of a falling soldier.

The tension is building out of the blue between Froster and Brett. It gets so wild that it even brings the atmosphere at Molly's down. Kidd gets them together and tells them to make amends. After their wild chase, Froster tells Brett about how she's been feeling looking at photos of her classmates, making it as doctors and somewhat.

Now, the wild chase to catch a robber was probably the episode's highlight, as it was like Fast and Furious meets Chicago Fire. I'm sure the Ambulance 61 could have taken down that truck alone.

"Hold Our Ground" was entertaining, dramatic, and exciting. The Mouch story was so good and funny but ended in a heartwarming moment. The Gallo was fun, and Brett and Froster were good too. This episode had good writing and character development. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

"Where We End Up"

The tension between Firehouse 51 and Firehouse 20 builds even further.

The issue of overlapping districts for Firehouse 51 and 20 continued during a car accident that put even more tension between the firehouse. Things took a real turn for the worst as everyone at Firehouse 51 had to leave on behalf of bedbugs. Throughout the episode, while quite fun (mainly with Gallo, Brett, Kidd, and Froster), most were quite severe with Casey and the Captain at 20. But that all subsided after a fire rescue at dry cleaners where Casey and Gallo helped save a life, and Firehouse 20's Captain, in return, got significant respect.

Boden had to be at a meeting where he spots an old friend who happens to be the speaker. The discussion was about firefighters battling cancer because of the ashes, etc, which can cause down the road. In the spirit of Chicago Fire, Gallo, who's running in the marathon, runs with full firefighter gear in support of fighting cancer for firefighters.

"Where We End Up" was a moving and intense episode. While the tension over Firehouse 51 and Firehouse 20 was pretty good, while Brett, Kidd, and Froster worried about what their chief would do to them was hilarious. The main thing from this episode was about how firefighters are diagnosed with cancer, not being aware of cleaning their equipment correctly, and that there needs to be an awareness. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

Music Therapy Session: This Is Us "Clouds"

The therapy session will begin...

This week's episode of This Is Us was another powerful and emotional episode with Sterling K. Brown given another startling performance; as Randall begins his first therapy session that didn't go so well, but the ending will put a smile on your face. Not to mention we get to learn about how Randall made running his therapy.

Toby apologizes to Kate for what he had done; tries to show her his affection with a planned out music studio in the garage. After having brunch with Maidson, Kate forgives her for sleeping with Kevin and takes her advice and accepts Toby's apologie. In the end, we see the future of how the studio will be used for baby Jack.

Kevin spends the day with Rebecca before her doctor's appointment; from record shopping to hunting down for Jodi Mitchell's childhood home. While on the hunt for Jodi Michell's home, we see a flashback of when Rebecca and Kevin spent one day together looking for a baseball card that Kevin needed for his collection. In the end, Rebecca learns that she's got early set Alzheimers; but she tells Kevin to never act differently towards her but make he day fun and exciting like Matt Damon taking her mother to movie premieres.

"Clouds" was such a great episode. This episode was so brilliantly written and performed by the cast that it took my breath away. It was brilliant of keeping the identity of the therapist hidden throughout the episode and kept the camera on Sterling as he shines. While Randall and Kate's stories were so good, Kevin and Rebecca felt like the most emotionally uplifting story of the episode as they bonded before getting that heartbreaking news. And that ending when Randall goes back to the therapy, we got to see the therapist played by Pamela Adlon.  Overall, I give this episode a 10/10.

Love All Around: This Is Us "A Hell of a Week, Part 3"/"The Cabin"

"A Hell of a Week, Part 3"

Is Kate and Toy's marriage in turmoil? Here a recap to the conclusion to this season's big three trilogy.

As we pick off to a young sleepless Kate wakes up Jack; the two tell a bedtime story together in like a princess and her prince type of story. While telling the story, we see a teenage Kate dealing with her boyfriend's mix emotions and her taking so much crap from him, but even though Rebecca worries about her, Kate still loves the guy and decides to go to the family cabin.

Meanwhile in the present, as Kate prepares for the family trip to a retreat for parents whose kids have a disability; but Toby is looking up information about how a kid had gotten 30 percent of her sight back. Toby doesn't go but Rebecca goes with Kate and the two have a mother/daughter time that broke the barrier even more as the two grew more and more. Even Rebecca tells Kate what's been going on with her. All in all, after an excellent weekend, Kate tells Toby that she needs him to be the man that he needs to be with her and their son.

That's when the phone from Kevin and Randall came and the three plan to go to the family cabin after a week that they just had. And as Kate tells Toby what she's going to do; he tells her that he'll watch Jack for the weekend.

"A Hell of a Weel, Part 3" was a very good episode. I couldn't get enough of the Rebecca and Kate dynamics whether it's the past or the present. But I think the present scenes like when they were in the pool were probably my favorite; the karaoke scene just made me put me in happy tears. The writing was so good with such strong character developments; the performances from Chrissy Metz and Mandy Moore were amazing! Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

"The Cabin"

This was the episode that really got me grabbing the tissues.

Let me just get this out of the way, so I can just tell you how much you should watch this episode. In this episode, Kate, Kevin, and Randall join each other at the family cabin; they learn of each other's problems and learn from it, even Kevin gets in the loop about what's going on with Rebecca. 

Meanwhile, Toby and baby Jack are hanging out and while things are going good, Toby gets a scare moment. And Rebecca, Kevin and Randall help save teenage Kate from her abusive boyfriend.
The Big Three get a jolt of life back when they dig up their time capsule that Jack had them do back in 1993. But it was in it that things really got going with a message from Jack that gave everyone hope and an idea that leads us back in the future tense.

"The Cabin" might be my favorite episode of the season so far. It's much from the past storyline the family confronting the boyfriend, which was good; but it wasn't like watching, Sterling, Justin, and Chrissy just take control of each scene with grace and power. Even the scenes with Jack and Rebecca were as good too. But it was that last few minutes when the three was listening to a tape from Jack that really had me grabbing the tissues more and more as the scene played out and the promo came on. If that scene doesn't get you or motivate you, I don't know what to say to you. Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10.

Westworld Season 3 Trailer

"The old gods are coming and their very angry."

On Thursday, the latest new trailer for HBO's Westworld season three was released and gives a much, much clear picture of what we can expect this season. But this is Westworld so expect the unexpected.

The Blacklist Renewed for Season 8

It looks like The Blacklist will have more names to cross off its list.

On Thursday, TVLine has learned that the NBC drama has been renewed for Season 8.

"Congratulations to our incredible cast, producers, and crew, all of whom continue to reach excellence week in a week out," Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, Co-Presidents of Scripted Programming at NBC Entertainment, said in a statement. "WE couldn't be more excited to continue Red and Liz's story into Season 8."

The Blacklist, which debuted in September o 2013, stars James Spader as the wanted criminal Raymond Reddington and Megan Boone as FBI profile Li keen, with whom Red has a complicated personal relationship. Throughout Liz's search for answers about ed's real identity, Red has assisted the FBI with tracking down dangerous and elusive criminals. Diego Klattenhoff, Harry Lennix, Amir Arison and Hisham Tawfiq round out the main cast.

The show is currently in season seven, which will resume Friday, March 20th. In the December's fall finale, Liz's biological mother faked her own death and formed an unexpected alliance with Liz, which neither woman plans to reveal to Red when the show returns.

"At this point, (Li) thinks Katarina may offer her a greater chance of finding out the truth that it seems Red won't share with her," executive producer John Eisendrath told TVLive at the time." But she certainly is not fully trusting of Katarina at this point, so as the season goes on, there will be choices that she'll have to make whether to say aligned with her mother, or whether to be more sympathetic towards Red's point of view."

When the series will also welcome Nip/Tuck alum Joely Richardson for an "intense" season 7 episode, in which she'll play Red's former flame Cassandra Bianchi.

A Path to Growing: Fresh Off The Boat "Chestnut Gardens"/"Practicum?!"

"Chestnut Gardens" 

The Chestnut is back! Matthew Chestnut returns and it makes Jessica, Eddie, and Trent all suspicious on his return. Jessica sees that Chestnut has taken Louis away from his passion idea of starting a garden and sets up a plan with Eddie and Trent to get Chestnut out of Cattlemen. After Louis learned what had happened and tells Jessica he was disappointed in her; she learned that Louis did start that garden but handed it off to Jenny. Jessica tells Louis that she's happy and that his career move is a business consultant.

Meanwhile, Honey asked Emery and Evan to babysit Marvin while he's on his boat. Emery thinks that Marvin is just old school when it comes to being disrespectful to women. But after teaching Marvin the ropes on how to be a gentleman in the 90s but it turns out the trash-talking comes from Honey herself. But it does give Emery asking about his perspective on women but Evan gives a pep talk that helped him.

"Chestnut Gardens" was a good episode. Bring back Matthew Chestnut and having a conflict wit Jessica, Eddie and Trent with Louis was very good and had very good character development for both Louis and Jessica. At first, I thought the Evan/Emery/Marvin story was going to be a snooze but the ending had a very surprising and heartfelt moment. Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.

"Practicum?!" 

When Evan starts wearing a necklace, Jessica starts to worry about him and investigates by using her shadow teacher at Evan's school. There she meets Evan's new friend Geoff and starts embarrassing Evan with remarks about things including his boom booms with applesauce. Evan tries to get his mother out of his school and when Jessica sees how he's been acting, she turns to Emery and learns that Evan just needs his space as he's growing. As she confronts Evan at Geoff's party, they both apologized.

Allen Iverson is coming to Orlando and Eddie wants a signed jersey from him, but Jessica and Louis won't let him skip school. That is until Louis learns that Eddie is writing a paper on his hero for a scholarship that happens to be about Iverson. A jealous Louis picks up Eddie from school to take him to see Iverson but tries too hard when he fakes a car problem that turned into an actual car problem. Soon Eddie learns the truth and forgives Louis, who finally took him to get that jersey signed and even get banned from all NBA games.

"Practicum?!" was a very good episode from start to finish. While I've been loving the dynamic between Eddie and Jessica; the character and relationship growth between Jessica and Evan through the last couple of seasons has been amazing;y well-written. The Eddie and Louis story was just hilarious at times and even the pop culture references in this episode couldn't be denied on how funny it still was. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.
