TV Corner Notes: Landman Returns & Legendary Soap Opera Turns 60

November TV isn’t slowing down anytime soon. From emotional premieres to long-awaited anniversaries and big-name streaming drops, this week delivers a packed slate of stories worth watching, and talking about.

Welcome back to TV Corner Notes, where we break down the biggest premieres, standout performances, and the shows everyone will be buzzing about this week. From Landman’s return to Days of Our Lives celebrating 60 years, there’s plenty of drama, heart, and surprise TV moments to dive into. Let’s get into the highlights and what should be on your watchlist.

Landman Returns

Landman returns with a strong, emotionally charged premiere as Cami steps into her power and Tommy tries to keep up. Cami’s big moment comes during a tense business lunch, where she shuts down two women who underestimated her—Demi Moore absolutely owns the scene. Meanwhile, Cooper’s new venture is taking off, Ainsley gets into TCU, in one of the most WTF scenesto watch, and Angela’s worries spark a blowout fight with Tommy.

The episode also introduces Sam Elliott’s T.L., whose quiet grief hits hard as he learns his wife has died while watching the sunset. That loss echoes in the final moments when Tommy receives the same heartbreaking call about his mother.

It’s a confident, compelling start to the season with standout performances across the board—especially Moore and Elliott. Rating: 9/10.

What did you think? And what challenges do you see ahead for Cami and Tommy?

Landman streams Sundays on Paramount+.

Days of Our Lives Turns 60th

This past week, Days of Our Lives marked its 60th anniversary with a heartfelt tribute that honored both past and present characters as the Dr. Tom Horton Free Clinic officially opened at University Hospital. It was warm, emotional, and exactly the kind of a nod longtime viewers appreciate. It may not have reached the scale of the 50th anniversary celebration, but it still landed beautifully.

But here’s what really stands out: where are the specials?

For a soap opera this iconic, one that’s shaped daytime TV for decades, it’s surprising that NBC, Peacock, or even a third-party studio hasn’t produced a single anniversary special. Saturday Night Live had six primetime specials for its 50th. Days deserves at least one or two. Imagine a retrospective featuring writers, cast, producers, and fans, exploring how the show was created, the behind-the-scenes highs and lows, and the storylines that defined generations.

A 60-year legacy deserves more than a week. It deserves to be celebrated, preserved, and spotlighted for the cultural institution it is.

What do you think? Leave a comment.
