Doctor Who "The Star Beast"

The Doctor is back and starts this three-part special with the petal to the metal!

As The Doctor returns to earth, he shockingly reunites with Donna Noble, who still doesn't remember him. He tries to keep his distance from her, but soon, a spaceship that looks to be crashing down suddenly lands, and UNIT and Doctor investigate.

Donna's daughter, Rose, meets The Meep, who happens to be hunted by the Wrath warriors. Donna soon meets The Meep, and in that classic, Donna reacts to the space creature. The Doctor arrives and tries to understand the situation but gets caught in a battle between the hunters and a UNIT, who are under a mysterious possession from the spaceship.

As Doctor and the rest escape, he questions why no one got hurt, or even the car they took wasn't damaged. He summoned the warriors to meet along with the Meep and learned that the Meep was a creature that went mad and killed its kind. But just as they explained, the Meep kills the warriors and goes on to do its grand plan by using its drill from its ship to destroy London.

As the Doctor and others were taken in a holden-cell, UNIT's Shirley Anne Bringham helped break them out. The doctor tries to stop Meep but also gets help from Donna, who believes she needs to do something. Trapped in the ship and separate from a glass wall, the Doctor triggers Donna's memories, goes button-pushing crazy, and stops Meep's plans.

But that doesn't end as Rose takes the sun-possessed soldier's powers away, but there's a game changer: Donna doesn't die because she passed along half of the time lord powers to Rose.

Just as The Meep is taken into custody, it warns about how its boss will learn about The Doctor.

The Doctor and Donna agree to take the TARDIS to visit Wilford, who is alive and living in a living facility helped by UNIT. But as they look around the new digs of the TARDIS, Donna spills coffee, and the machine catches on fire.

"The Star Beast" is an hour special that doesn't waste time explaining the plot and keeps the pace well, making this feel like a mini-movie event wrapped with the classic Russell T. Davis style of a Doctor Who episode.

I loved this episode, and it had me at times in tears with not only seeing Donna and the Doctor together but also hearing about Wilford and even The Meep with Rose, which has me crying.

The performances from Tennant and Tate were terrific. I loved Yasmin Finney's performance as Rose and Ruth Madeley's performance as Bringhman.

Overall, I give this episode special a 9/10.

You can catch Doctor Who The Star Beast on Disney+ with the following special next Saturday.

Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special Reflection

Seven years ago today, it was pretty much the year's fall event. Here's my reflection on Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary special.

It is one of those events that you can't forget. Call it the Endgame before Endgame, with the hype of this cultural event in 2013. The Doctor Who 50th Anniversary special was one that I won't forget.

Now, let me go back just a bit; I'll admit I had never been a fan of Doctor Who until 2011. I heard the news around 2008 about the show thanks to the internet and heard of David Tennant leaving the show. But it was after listening to this podcast Talking TV with Ryan and Ryan and hearing them talk about Doctor Who so much I decided to check it out.

I went through the five series (of the revival) with Matt Smith at the helm. I was hooked on the show, and while tuning in to watch The Doctor and Amy Pond Going on Adventures, I've gone back to the show's other seasons and checked them out as well.

I caught the Doctor Who fever, and that's where I got my brother hooked on it after telling him so much about the show (one too many times, he would say).

So now, back to the 50th Anniversary special. I still remember it; it was on a Saturday, and my brother bought himself a fez hat. It was so funny. So, just as we were preparing to watch it, I knew our adrenaline was rising with high expectations.

As the show began, I was like that's the original title, and it starts just as the first episode began. We loved every minute, from UNIT picking up the TARDIS and seeing Matt hanging on while flying around London to the event. Everyone was excited to see (including my brother) the meeting between Smith and Tennant's Doctors.

Hell, even seeing all 13 Doctors helping to save their home planet was terrific.

We thought the special was fantastic, and while it was hilarious, it had some excellent good moments when we saw both Doctors (including the War Doctor) talk about why they left and come up with a solution to help their home planet from the Daleks.

And, of course, we couldn't stop talking about it after and even re-watched when it re-aired that night. I rewatched it a bit more over the next day. And, of course, it leads to one of the saddest Christmas specials of the revival when we say goodbye to Matt Smith.

Watching that notable was unique because it brought my brother and me together and got to be our nerdy selves. And that wouldn't happen again until we saw Avengers Endgame in 2019.

Since 2011, I've been a fan of the series. Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi are my favorites (so far), while Jenna Coleman is my favorite of the Doctor's companions. I did get to watch the eleventh series premiere event with Jodie Whittaker taking over as the new Doctor, but I haven't caught up (which will be something that I should have done this summer but will do this holiday season).

I want to reflect on what this seventh anniversary of the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary special meant to me. What did you think of the special?

Doctor Who Gets Season Premiere Date

The first ever female Doctor Who will premiere this October but on a new night!

BBC America has announced that Jodie Whittaker's first season (Season 11) will debut on Sunday, October 7. The premiere will be timed to the UK broadcast, followed by a prmetime encore in its new Sunday night time-slot (which remains TBA). In addition, the basic cabler has revealed the premiere episode title: "The Woman Who Fell to Earth."

Whittaker made her debut as the Doctor at the end of the 2017 Christmas special, when Peter Capaldi's Time Lord regenerated into the franchise's first ever female lead. Whittaker said that at the time of her casting, "It's more than an honor to play the Doctor. It means remembering everyone I used to be, while stepping forward to embrace everything the Doctor stands for: hope I can't wait."

With Whittaker as the Thirteenth Doctor for Season 11, there are three new companions: Bradley Walsh (LAw & Order: UK) as Graham, Tosin Cole (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) as Ryan and Mandip Gill (Hollyoaks) as Yasmin. Rise of the Queen: Victoria on Masterpiece Classice "Doll 123" Series Premiere

Image result for victoria doll 123

(Note: I will not compare this show to The Crown (Netflix) in any way because I haven't seen ALL of it yet. I'm reviewing/recapping it as I see it.)

When we last saw Jenna Coleman, we said goodbye to her as Clara Oswald over a year ago on Doctor Who in one of the most heart-wrenching goodbyes on the show. But now she has returned to television in a royal and dramatic role, Victoria, on Masterpiece Theater.

In the series premiere, "Doll 123," we come to the late night/early morning of the death of King William IV (Victoria's uncle) and travel to Victoria's home about it. Ther,e he can't sleep; Victoria gets the news and proceeds of the Royal exchange of power at 18.

Throughout the episode, she holds and plays with one doll that she got from her mother at the age of 11 and didn't put a crown on it til she learned about her taking over from her uncle at the age of 13. But at the end of the episode, she does put her doll away and moves on into business by signing papers. Throughout the episode, she tries to take things independently, including not having her mom and dad with her during some critical business.

She makes one of the biggest mistakes, accusing Lady Flora of having a child from her stepfather. That was proven wrong after she was ordered to have an exam by Flora's doctor, and when the news came, it wasn't a pregnancy but a tumor of massive size, too. She took a backlash from it from her family to even the press (that was leaked from her own family).

There are perfect moments, one of which is the relationship between Victoria and Lord Melbourne. At first, the two might seem to be a fit for a couple if Victoria had the idea, but I believe or can tell that they'll have an excellent working relationship like the classics of Jack and Liz (even though this isn't a comedy).

The episode displays a lot of beautiful scenery, even though some might have been CGI at times. The music score throughout the episode was stunning, and at times, when the score was during the scene of Victoria's crowning or Coronation, I couldn't stop humming it out of my head.

Coleman shines in this episode. I can feel through her eyes of her and her character's emotions. Also, the cast is impressive as well. Rufus Sewell is excellent and shows chemistry with Coleman—the writing of this episode intensifies. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

You can catch Victoria Masterpiece Theater (in the United States) at 9/8c on PBS.

Victoria | First Look | ITV

Jenna Coleman returns in a new role as Queen Victoria. The former Doctor Who actress is in this eight part mini series that will debut on PBS in 2017 on Sunday, the same time slot that Downton Abby occupied for the last six years.

This mini-series follows the early life of Queen Victoria, from her accession to the throne at the age of 18 through to her courtship and marriage to Prince Albert. It stars Coleman, Tom Hughes, Eve Myles, Tommy Knight and Rufus Sewell. The series was created by Daisy Goodwin.

Here's a first look teaser from ITV.

"Don't run, Stay with me": Doctor Who "Face the Raven"

We knew that this was coming for a while, but the question was how, and in last night's episode, "Face the Raven," we got to see Clara Oswald one previous time.

When Rigsy calls Clara on the TARDIS phone asking for help on a mysterious tattoo, The Doctor and Clara discover that it's a countdown to his death.

We all know that Clara has been enjoying much time with the Doctor and traveling from place to place. That includes dealing with risky situations and watching her look for trouble streets hanging out of the TARDIS; you know she's gone too far. They bump into Me there, too, as the Mayor of the streets.

So when they find Troubledle Street, they learn his tattoo is a countdown to his death because he was near a  victim who seemed dead but wasn't. So, for his punishment, when the clock is gone, a raven will come and kill him. Somehow, this makes Edgar Allen Poe go, Why didn't I think of that?"

But Clara didn't let that happen to him and found out they could be switched, but can't she or a second time. So,? Ara was stuck with it, with no solution.

And the Do,c tor upset as he can be demanded Me to undo it, but she couldn't do it. It left the Doctor threatening her by bringing everyone from friends to enemies down and bringing hell to the area. But Clara stopped him and gave one of the best heartwarming goodbye speeches ever.

She tells him not to take revenge for her behavior. Don't be a warrior; be the Doctor. I couldn't help but tear up from that scene and the rest until she died. I think we all felt what the Doctor was feeling about it.

I understand and transfer the Doctor to where we'll know about the next episode as part two of this story continues.

I thought that the story was well told and that the send-off of Clara was emotional at its best. I thought saying goodbye to Amy Pond was hard, but this one takes a massive chunk of my heart. Clara Oswald is my favorite companion of the Doctor. She's got heart, a risk taker, and doesn't back down.

But even if this is a two-part episode, will she come back? Well, I guess we'll find out.

Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10.

You can catch Doctor Who on Saturday nights at 9/8c on BBC America.

A Tale in Space: Doctor Who "Sleep No More"

"Sleep No More" was a very different but exciting episode. It started with a video message that looked to be a distress call and explained what had happened, along with meeting the rescuers who were to attempt to rescue whoever was in that empty ship.

Then the rescuers bumped into the Doctor and Clara, and they searched for what the hell was in that ship. Hell, it looked like a family of sand monsters with no faces. But one by one, the team lost each other, and it came down to three. Of course, the scientist, at the beginning, turns out to be the guy who has caused all this to happen.

With the Doctor, Clara, and the other soldier escaping in the TARDIS, the scientist made one last remark before sending it to everyone. But as he was nearly done, he scratched his eye, and it turned into dust, and soon his head was coming apart.

To answer the scientist's question, yes, I did enjoy the show, and no, I don't think my family would enjoy it unless it's my brother and me. I'll say that this was a very different episode. It was like Ghost Hunters meets Tales of the Creep. I loved how the camera was part of the character's viewpoint at times.

Overall, I give this episode a 7/10.

You can catch Doctor Who on Saturdays at 9/8c on BBC America.

War & Talk: Doctor Who "The Zygon Inversion"

In part two of this episode, the zygons are trying to take over the world and look for the Osgood box. While the Physician and Osgood are on the plane, the Zygon version of Clara is shooting rockets. But the honest Clara, who's in a pod underground, can still communicate with the Zygon.

The Doctor and Osgood escaped the plane before the blast. The Doctor thinks Clara is dead, but when he gets a text from her, Osgood believes that she may be alive.

The zygon, or Bonnie as she calls herself, tries to find the Osgood box so she can cause chaos. She realizes Clara can still control the body and goes to her pod for information. Clara challenges Bonnie, but Bonnie makes threatens her life.

Bonnie takes Clara to the Tower, while the Doctor and Osgood get attacked by zygons but saved by Kate, who pretends to be one of them. Kate is upset and wants to destroy the Zygons, but the Doctor doesn't, and when they get there, he makes a perfect case.

There in the tower are two boxes. Heck, you know there isn't just one, and both Kate and Bonnie try to make the decision. But the Doctor makes a case for not to do it and that he's seen what it's like and almost destroyed his people, but Clara helps him see it.

The two stopped and ended the battle. Yes, I'm still calling it a battle. Bonnie lets it go and gives every one of their kind a chance at freedom, while Kate forgets this had ever happened.

Meanwhile, we still couldn't get an answer from Osgood if she was a human or a zygon, and then came another one. Here's my point: who cares if she's a Zygon? Osgood is here and isn't leaving. Having two of them should be twice the fun and twice the more Doctor wardrobe.

I was amazed at this episode. Give a lot of credit to Peter; he gave an outstanding performance when talking to Kate and Bonnie. I was moved and amazed.

Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.

You can catch Doctor Who on Saturday nights at 9/8c on BBC America.

A Battle of Rights: Doctor Who "The Zygon Invasion"

What a perfect time for this episode to air in the US on Halloween night.

This episode opens up with a flashback to The Day of the Doctor when the Three Doctors made UNIT and the Zygons made peace. We see Osgood back and making a video of how they made a peace treaty, along with showing a box to indicate if anything goes wrong.

The Zygons kidnapped Osgood, and it's up to the Doctor, Clara, and UNIT to scatter to free her. The Doctor goes to the Middle East, Clara stays in London, and Kate goes to New Mexico. But when things start to rattle, and the Doctor has caught a Zygon, a surprise comes about and leaves the episode with a giant cliffhanger as the Doctor is on his Presidential plane.

It's hands down one of the best cliffhanger episodes yet. I didn't even see this one coming at all. Who knew that Clara was a Zygon and was held in a pod? I was stunned and amazed.
And I should say that it's great to see Osgood back, even if she is a hybrid of a Zygon and Human, something that's been a lot in this season. Osgood is one of my favorite supporting characters, even with her wardrobe, wearing the scarf to the questions on her collar.

And I couldn't get enough of the Doctor, not only playing Amazing Grace in the TARDIS but also confronting kids at a park. It looks so weird and wrong from a stranger's perspective, but it was hilarious.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Doctor Who on Saturday nights at 9/8c on BBC America.

Caring is to Seeing: Doctor Who "The Girl Who Lived"

As the Doctor travels alone looking for an alien artifact, he bumps into Ashildr, who happens to rob a carriage. Ashildr goes by the name of Me because of how all alone she has been since she has lived through a lot of things over the past century.

I will say that this episode was more prolonged than last week's episode. From the beginning to the end, watching Capaldi and Williamson-screen scenes was phenomenal.

I loved it when Williams was the Knightmare, and the Doctor interrupted her robbery, looking for something with his cool gadget.

I didn't care for the Lion character. He looked like an alien version of the Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz. And that scene when his kind was firing through an open portal was like the shortest action scene ever.

But my favorite scene came when the Doctor picked up Clara, and they had a nice chat about a student whom he helped get an A on her report. With a look on his face, he seems to worry that someday an end will soon be near for Clara after I told him about saving her. And I couldn't leave out that hug scene, which was heartwarming in my book.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Doctor Who on Saturday nights at 9/8c on BBC America.

Battles and Flashbacks: Doctor Who "The Girl Who Died"

At first I didn't like it but more and more later on I finally got into it.

The Doctor and Clara stop into a village of vikings, something that the Doctor doesn't want to get into with them. Showing his sonic sunglasses to scare them off, one member takes them off and breaks them. (NNNOOOOO!!!!!)

They're force to come in the village when the warrior leader Odin speaks from the clouds and takes all of their vikings warriors and that includes Clara and Ashildr, who's played by Maisie Williams. They've been sent into a room where it kills the vikings. But only Clara and Ashildr made it through and talked to Odin. Everything was good until Ashildr engaged in a war between her village and his warriors.

That leads to the Doctor trying to get these villagers how to battle. It didn't look good if these guys were going up against Odin and his guys. I do love how the Doctor gave every member a name from Limpy, Chuckles, Heidi and Led Zeppelin.

But an idea come to him that doesn't have to have the villagers to fight. So they plan to have a party and set a trap and use their eels to give them a charge. Destroying one of the warrior's machine and getting the helmet, the Doctor put in on Ashildr and gave a scare to Odin that would make him blush  and embarrass.

After sending Odin and his guys away, Ashildr dies after taking off the helmet. The Doctor is never happy when even if they win and one person dies. But soon he gets a reflection flashback that he knows why the face that we're seeing is him. Apparently, it was in the episode "The Fires of Pompeii " when Peter Capaldi first appeared on the show. And shows Donna as well.

The Doctor remembers and goes back and gives Ashildr a medical medal on her forehead and gave her the ability of not die.

The Doctor leaves and regrets to what he had done. That now instead of making a splash, he's making waves across the universe.

I enjoyed the episode halfway through. I love the first scene but with the vikings and such didn't quite get me. I did love how the Doctor trying to train these folks for battle. I thought that was hilarious. I'll be honest I didn't know who Maisie Williams was or haven't seen Game of Thrones. But I thought that she was very good and after this episode I'm really excited t see what she's doing in part two of next week's episode.

Overall, I give this episode a 7/10.

You can catch Doctor Who Saturday nights at 9/8c on BBC America.

Doctor Who & Weekend Catch Up Part 10

Doctor Who "Before the Flood"

In the second part of this two-part story, the Doctor travels back to the 1980s during the Cold War to see where the spaceship is and who has landed. It only took two crew members and left Clara and the others behind due to the security doors.

This episode occurred before the previous episode, as the Doctor explains in the beginning, and again at the end. This is called the "bootstrap paradox," a time loop. We've seen it in other shows and films. But he mentions only Beethoven, who wasn't a natural person until he, the Doctor, gave sheets of music to a man who called himself Ludwig Beethoven. That was a fun part of the episode. It was beautifully well-performed and made.

The Doctor had to battle with the Fisher King, the one trying to get from that point in time, 2199. Killing O'Donnell, the King faces the Doctor, who looks scared when looking up at the King. But so on, the Doctor talked and told him a lie about the ship, for which the King went back to and realized that the Doctor lied to him. Along with the dam being destroyed.

As Clara, Cass, and Lunn try to stay alive from the ghost, they come to the white box in the control room. It opened up and out popped the Doctor along with his sonic sunglasses.

I have to say that this was a very, very interesting episode. I had to watch it twice to keep understanding it, but it was a lot better watching it the second time. The time loop did get me at first. That was until I put it together from the first scene of the episode to the last scene of the episode. It is brilliantly done and probably one of its best and brightest episodes.

Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10.

You can catch Doctor Who on Saturday nights at 9/8c on BBC America.

Arrow "Green Arrow"

(WARNING: I HAVE NOT SEEN SEASON 3 BUT WILL THIS WEEK; THIS IS ALL FROM WATCHING SEASONS ONE & TWO AND THIS WEEK'S SEASON 4 PREMIERE).

For how long are we going to keep seeing Oliver leave and come back?

I get it that fighting bad guys, saving the city, and protecting the ones that you love is all a huge risk when being a hero, but watching it after every season does get tiresome at times. I think that after this season, it will show that maybe he'll stay as the hero for a long time.

Oliver seems to enjoy the retired superhero life with Felicity in a nice neighborhood. Diggle, Laurel, and Speedy are carrying on the Arrow's name while trying to stop a group of guys known as Ghost.

It wasn't until Speedy and Laurel thought Oliver should return that Diggle believed otherwise. He's still upset about what Oliver did to him last season. They ask Oliver for help right when he is about to ask Felicity for her hand in marriage.

Well, Oliver and even Felicity agreed to help. Hell, Felicity has been helping them for a while, and it quite upset Oliver.

It seems like there's a new villain in the city, and his name is Damion Darhk, who has a very supernatural ability; not only freaking Speedy and Black Canary out but also me as well with his sucking the life out of one of his men.

And did you watch Arrow and Darhk's fight that looked like Bane vs. Batman when you seemed to lose your touch in fighting? But the shocker is that Laurel's dad works for Darhk, so that doesn't seem to go down well.

At the end of the episode, we jump to six months, seeing Oliver at a cemetery looking at someone's grave, and along comes The Flash. We never did get a look at it, but my guess is it would be either Felicity or Quentin Lance. At this time in Oliver's life, maybe Felicity should get killed. Hell, I want to see Oliver and Laurel back together. I still think that they are meant to be.

I enjoyed this episode. There were a few things that just got boring from Oliver enjoying his happy, non-superhero life and coming back to become the hero again. But he's Oliver Queen and not Bruce Wayne.

Overall, I give this episode an 8/10

You can catch Arrow on Wednesday nights at 8/7c on The CW.

Something Strange In Your Spaceship, Who You Gonna Call?: Doctor Who "Under the Lake"

The Doctor and Clara take a trip to 2119 after a crew picks up an empty spaceship. But it's not any other spaceship; this one somehow brings in an alien ghost. Freaky Dicky!!

This ghost somehow kills one human and turns into a ghost-like figure with no eyes and a muted voice. But the Doctor was so thrilled to meet a ghost and that his thoughts that they couldn't boo a goose, which was one of the best quotes in the episode.

After taking another crew member, the gang decided to take off. But with the water leaking in, they have 30 seconds to get to the TARDIS before the doors close. Well, that splits Clara and the Doctor up, but how long will it take the Doctor to go back to see the event of the flood that had caused all of this and saved Clara and the rest of the crew?

That will have to wait til the next episode. Plus, will the Doctor succeed? If the ghost figure of the Doctor outside the ship would probably give some doubts.

I very much enjoyed this episode. I am amazed and worried about how Clara has acted since this episode began by getting pumped up to travel in time and space. I've never seen anything like that since maybe season seven, but on the other hand, she was never so enthusiastic before. I'm a bit worried.

Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.

You can catch Doctor Who on Saturday nights at 9/8c on BBC America.

"Just the Same Old, Same Old" Doctor Who "The Witch's Familiar "

"The Witch's Familiar" didn't disappoint. Here's my recap/review!

First, how did Clara and Missy stay alive after being exterminated by the Daleks? They were transported thanks to the timey wimey that they carry. The Doctor always is one step ahead of everyone.

In the beginning, I didn't know if I should trust Missy, but after this episode, I didn't after what she had Clara do and near the end. But I couldn't help but like her because she's a bit wacky and wrong, and who doesn't like a character like that? I do!

For heaven's sake, Missy had Clara in an actual Dalek—a little familiar to that part.

The conversation with Darvos was brilliantly well-written and performed. I thought they were having a real moment when Darvos had his hand on the Doctor and showed his eyes. But that turned blank due to being a trap to take the Doctor's regeneration energy and use it for himself and the Daleks to make them strong.

The problem is that there are a bunch of Daleks underneath the facility that caused destruction. Trying to leave, the Doctor spots the Dalek, who has Clara inside. He asks it why it's coming and threatens if it says that Clara is dead. Missy, on the other hand, tells him that that's the Dalek that killed Clara.

I was on the edge of my seat, hoping that there was some way for Clara to get out of there so the Doctor didn't have to kill her. The word "mercy" was spoken, and the Doctor told it to open its body. Clara is in there, and the Doctor's look expresses that he wanted to kill Missy but instead told her to run.

Run she did and was caught by the Daleks.

In the end, the Doctor returned and rescued the young Darvos from the mine's hands and told him the meaning of mercy, which came in handy before.

This episode had a lot of great moments. From the Doctor and Darvos to the adventures of Clara and Missy, who didn't like watching the Doctor ride on Darvos' chair? That was the best entrance to a bunch of Daleks I've ever seen.

The best quote of the episode is, "Oh, the same old, same old, just the Doctor and Clara Oswald in the TARDIS. It was the best!!!

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Doctor Who on Saturday nights on BBC America.

Michael: The Doctors and Dalek

Doctor Who "The Magician's Apprentice Season Premiere

The season nine premiere was not a disappointment. It was marvelous, with a shocking twist.

The Doctor tries to rescue a child during one of the wars, but when he asks the kid his name, it turns out to be one of the most mistakable rescues of his time-traveling life. The kid turns out to be Davros, the creator of the Daleks.

Running from the problem and landing in 1158 AD about to battle, the Doctor mistakes the ax battle for the guitar battle, which was the best scene in the episode. To see the Doctor rockin' the guitar on a tank was hilarious and awesome.

With the Doctor hiding, Missy has been looking for him and tried to draw attention to Clara and U.N.I.T. with every plane in the air frozen. I couldn't tell if Missy was as bad as she should be or as good as she could be. It seemed weird to see Clara and Missy working together.

They traveled to find the Doctor and soon went with him to Dravos, but the man that the Doctor was going to fight was not a natural person. He turns out to be a Dalek and took the TARDIS. It turned out that where they were was not in a spaceship, but in the worst place the Doctor ever would want to be in, Skaro. Again, that was another shocking moment in this episode.

Missy and Clara find the TARDIS, but the Daleks are about to destroy it. Missy tries to negotiate a deal with them to take the TARDIS, but that turns out to be a no, and she's gone. Clara talks to them, too, but has no success, too, and is gone just like Missy.

Doctor, who watched them get destroyed, seems upset, but Dravos wants him to say the words of defeat. Of course, Dravos has no power over the Daleks; as he put it, they are just like kids.

The episode ends on a cliffhanger, which sets up next week's episode pretty much at a high point.

I thought that this was an excellent season opener. I might have loved this opener better than last season's opener. But I felt Capaldi was fantastic, and Jenna Coleman worked well with Michelle Gomez.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

It's Official: Jenna Coleman Leaving Doctor Who

Well, it's official, Jenna Coleman is leaving the TARDIS and becoming the Queen of England.

This week had numerous reports that she was going to leave the series, Coleman announced to BBC Radio on Friday morning that, "I have left the TARDIS...I've filmed my last scenes."

Being part of the series since 2012, Coleman described her exit of the series as "emotional" and that she was mum of the circumstances of Clara's goodbye.

"We're not going too give any details but it will happen at some point this season," she said.

A year and a half ago, her and Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat "worked out a really good story arc, so hopefully people will love.

The rumors had Coleman taking a royal gig as the star of an ITV miniseries about Queen Victoria.

"Se is a vivid, strong, inspirational and utterly fascinating woman in British history, Coleman noted. "I can't wait to tell her story."

RUMOR: Jenna Coleman Leaves Doctor Who After Series 9

Rumor is spreading around social media that Doctor Who's companion Jenna Coleman is leaving the series after it's ninth series.

Just saying that it's only rumors but according to Mashable that Coleman is leaving to do an eight-part series about Queen Victoria. Trading up the TRADIS for royalty that must give Queen Elizabeth a smile since Coleman is also rumored to be in a relationship with Prince Harry.

I've been a big fan of Coleman when she joined the series during it's seventh season. And as moved up on my list as my favorite Doctor Who companion at #1 passing Amy Pond, Romana, Sarah Jane Smith, Rose, Maratha and Peri Brown.

I really don't want to say goodbye to Clara Oswald.

Doctor Who Series 9 Trailer #2

On Wednesday, the latest trailer for the upcoming season of Doctor Who was released.

"He doesn't have a plan yet, but when he does it's going to be spectacular," Clara says.

There's so many new villains and so old familiar ones.

"Just the same old, same old," says to Doctor to the Daleks.  "Just the Doctor and Clara Oswald in the TARDIS."

Also there's a new poster:

I'm really dying to see if the Doctor plays the guitar for the Daleks that would be so rock n' roll.

You can catch the season premiere of Doctor Who Saturday, Sept. 19th on BBC America.

Here's the trailer:
