Prepare for What's Coming: Supergirl Elseworlds, Part 3

Image result for supergirl elseworlds

After two nights of full of excitement, drama and super amazing moments; Part 3 of Elseworld ends with Supergirl that not deals with some life changes but something more is coming. Here's a recap!

Continuing from where we left off in Arrow as Barry and Oliver learn that Deegan changed reality once again and has become the black-suited Superman. Oliver gets a chance to escape from him by calling his bluff to have him save the citizens. They come up with a plan to find Cisco but got sidetracked when they meet with The Mointer and learned that all of this is a test to see who's strong and willing.

As Barry and Oliver find Cisco and convinced him to help him us his power to get them into Earth 38, to get Clark and Lois' help. Kara is trapped by Deegan and uses not only Oliver and Barry's friends to help him but Alex as well. Kara talks to Alex and convinces her that she's not this kind of person and describes her sister and what she means to her. Alex helps Kara get free and meets up with Deegan but Barry, Oliver, and Clark make it back in time.

Clark and Deegan fight, while Kara, Barry, and Alex located the book and gives it to Clark to help refix reality. Barry gets his powers back, Oliver returns to normal, but Deegan gets the book back and the team devices a plan. Barry and Kara use their speed to slow down time, while Olver meets with The Monitor and asked to help change history as both Barry and Kara are the sign of hope for the world.

Just as Barry and Kara are about to burst into flame, time slows down and Oliver takes his shot at Deegan and stops him. And both Barry and Kara are still alive after going mack 7 speed. After things changed back, Deegan's face is deformed and sent to Arkham in Gotham. Kara and Clark have a nice moment and learns that he and Lois are moving back to start a family. But a call from Kate Kane to Oliver gets worried about a friend that Deegan is making in Arkham and that friend is Psycho-Pirate. And a short teaser to what comes next fall "Crisis on Infinite Earths."

"Elseworlds Part 3" was a fantastic episode ending but a nice cliffhanger to what comes next year. This episode really gave a strong character development, mainly between Oliver and Barry as those two grew closer as friends and Oliver grew more as a person that shouldn't wait but have hope and go with it. Maybe he and Felicity will finally get back together. But let me just say this that this crossover was like the perfect freaky Fridays meet bosom buddies moments for Barry and Oliver that I enjoyed too much. Another thing, I WANT TO SEE BATWOMAN AS A SERIES!!! Ruby Rose killed it and gave us just enough to see her character and Gotham that this would work. Please make it work CW! MAKE IT WORK!!!

I thought there were some good moments for Kara too. When she convinces Alex the help her and describe how her Alex stands up to what she believes that gets her to be her own person. Also, the moment with Clark at the end was a good enough moment to know that it was like passing the mantle down of saving the world. Yeah, I may not like how it was done after seeing Clark get his butt kicked many times in this crossover but it was effective enough that I enjoyed it. And not to mention with what's coming next year that maybe that other Kara could be used in that situation. I don't know. I'm just guessing.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10. I give the crossover event a 9/10.

You can catch Supergirl when it returns in January.

Fathers, Daughters and Sons: Supergirl "Far From the Tree"

When J'onn gets a message from M'gann about Mars in trouble and asked for his help and gets a surprise he didn't expect. While the wedding is near, Alex convinces Maggie to invite her father to their party.

When J'onn accpets M'gann's plea for help, he and Supergirl fly to Marx, in an old fashion style ship, and get a shock of his life as his father is still alive. The planet Mars is dying and the only thing that can help save the planet is to get the spare that J'onn's father knows where it is.

He tries to talk to his father but he doesn't believe that it truly is him. With despreate times coming near, J'onn and Supergirl take him and try to convince him that he is his son: by going to their home and showing him a memory. As his father sees that J'onn is really J'onn, they hugged until the planet starts to suffer in like an earthquake.

To get the staff, Supergirl enters in the way of Bugs Bunny with Britney Spears song playing in J'onn's car. After that the J'onn, his father, M'gann and her crew along with Supergirl fought til Supergirl gets the staff and hands it to J'onn. J'onn hands the staff to M'gann's team but decided that J'onn and Supergirl should take it to keep it safe. And while they are at it, they also brought to Earth, J'onn's father as well.

Meanwile, one of the more deeper story in this episode happens to be Maggie and her father. During a dinner with Alex and her mother, Maggie opens up about her father to them. Alex thinks that maybe she should reach out to him. She did and from what it looked to be a smooth reunion until during the party, he left. Maggie reached out with why he just wants to walk away from this and then he opens up to her about how he had to work hard to get where he had to be and deal with people calling him insulting names.

After the two's heated conversation, Maggie sees her father just before he headed out. The two seemed to be on a good note at the end.

"Far From the Tree" might be one of those episodes that dealt with the same issue: fathers but in different point of views of both J'onn and Maggie. It had a nice balance of humor and drama that I really enjoyed and watching Maggie and her fathet story. I'd love watching Supergirl and J'onn working together. There was a ton of humor coming from them from getting into the car to even when Supergirl comes in with her best Bugs Bunny line that I really love. Overall, I give this episode a 8/10.

You can catch Supergirl Mondays at 8/7c on The CW.

Supergirl Season 3: Meeting Reign with a Twist

When the third season of Supergirl premieres, expect to see a new big bad Reign to be not your typical villian. That could be that she might not have the idea that she is a villian.

If you remember at the closing of season two, it was revealed that another pod escaped Krypton's destruction, housing a bio-engineered weapon called Reign, also known to all as a Worldkiller. In the comics, the Worldkillers are bloodthiirsty, super-powered beings that's set out to conquer Earth.

But when Dette Annable (House) makes her debut in the season premiere, she'll be playing a very different character than what the comic book fans have come to know from the New 52s.

Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg tells EW, "When we meet Reign, she's ust a woman. HEr name is Samanthan and she's a single mom, and she has no idea that she is Reign: she has no idea that she was the baby in the pod at the end of last season, so the journey that she takes this season is watching her realize her heritage and see how it manifests."

With Samantha's transformation into Reign, will speak with the show's theme this year. "The thing everybody is struggling with on Supegirl this season is What does it mean to be humna?", Kreisberg says, stressing that Supergirl needed to shake things up with the choices of big bad. "I'm not only competing with myself on Supergirl, but I'm competing with with myself on all the other shows that I've done, and by that I mean I don't want to repeat what I've done on Supergirl, nor do I want to repeat what I've done on Arrow and Flash."

Oh please don't repeat what you did on Arrow, I can't stand another I'm done being a hero at one end and deciding to come back in another. Three seasons of that gets pretty tiresome.

Kreisberg contuines, Usually on these shows, you either meet the big bad at the end of episode one or you meet them at episode seven or nine, and you realize that they've been pulling the strings the whole time, and were out there working with their multi-year plan to take down the heroes or destroy the city. When we were figuring out Reign, one thin we've never really seen on any of these shows is we've never seen the big bad become the big bad."

It seems that we're in for a hell of a season. So ge ready for it when Supergirl premieres on Monday, October 9th at 8/7c on The CW.

Arrow-verse Crossover Event Set for November

Image result for Arrowverse

The CW has announced on Wednesday at the Television Critics Associations Summer press tour that the network will air another Arrow-verse crossover event.

The event will take place across four shows on two nights. The action event will kick off on Monday, Nov. 27 on Supergirl, followed by a special Monday episode of Arrow. Then it'll continue into Tuesday, Nov. 28 on The Flash and concludes that night on Legends of Tomorrow.

There no storyline details right now but that could change later today as assorted #DCTV EP appears at TCA panels.

"We felt that it would be better and tighter in storytelling...This was the best way to go," said CW boss Mark Pedowitz, explaining why the scheduling change up of the special Monday episode of Arrow.

"Next year we may go back to four nights," Pedowitz allowed.

The Arrow-verse began in December 2014 with a crossover event that took place on The Flash and then Arrow. Then in December 2015, Legends of Tomorrow villain Vandal Savage targeted Central City's barista Kendra Saunders, triggering the involvement of Flash and Arrow heroes once again. And last year's four show, three night crossover event folded in Supergirl, as the Super friends were battling the alien race known as The Dominators.
