Bones: An End of an Era

Image result for Bones

September 13, 2005 would be a date that I still remember. I was just in my second year in high school, that was also the night of the season premiere of the second best medical show on television, House, MD. but mostly a new series premiered. Jumping to 12 years later, we say goodbye that's been a part of my life.

Bones was a show that really got my attention with it's series trailer, something that looked like a familiar crime drama but with a different take on it. Watching a Forensic Anthropologist on television seemed new and watching how this character could solve a murder by look at the bones was just completely a game changer in my book. And as soon after the pilot premiere, I was hooked to these characters, but mostly Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan.

Temperance (Emily Deschanael) is one of the most interesting characters that I've seen in years on television. She's different, new and she can really kick ass unlike any other female character. Watching her, I just feel connected to her even if I didn't know a lot of the science behind all of the science stuff. And along with her are some of the most interesting and so well balanced supporting characters. The balance and chemistry between Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) might looked the same to other crime series partners like Scully and Mulder but this was different as each of them learned from each other's strength and knowledge and learned.

If you look back at each season, you could really named each season a a chapter section. There have been many, many episodes that have been truly my favorite. The pilot really tops the list because it's where we are introduced to the characters.

Here's my favorite episodes from the show:
Season one: "The Man In the SUV", "A Man on Death Row", "The Woman in the Airport", "Two Bodies in the Lab" (this episode really got the ball rolling on how strong Brennan and Booth partnership), "The Man in the Morgue" and "The Woman in Limbo."

Season Two: "The Titan on the Tracks", "Aliens in the Spaceship", "Judas on the Pole" (my personal favorite).

Season Three: This my be one of my favorite seasons still to this day. "The Widow's Son in the Windshield", "Soccer Mom in the Mini-Van", "Death in the Saddle" (a hilarious episode), "The Santa in the Slush" (all time favorite Christmas episode), "The Baby in the Bough" (personal favorite), "The Wannabe in the Weeds" and "The Pain in the Heart."

Season Four: This was another great season and probably my second favorite. "Yanks in the U.K." "The Finger in the Nest" (such an emotional but beautiful episode), "The He in the She", "The Con Man in the Meth Lab", "The Bone that Blew", "The Hero in the Hold", "The Critic in the Cabernet" and "The End in the Beginning".

Season Five:  "The Bond in the Boot", "The Plain in the Prodigy", A Night at the bone Museum", "The Garner in the Grease", "The X in the File", "The Death of the Queen Bee", "The Witch in the Wardrobe", "The Beginning in the End".

Season Six: "The Mastodon in the Room", The Couple in the Cave", The Bones That Weren't", "The Doctor in the Photo" (Another personal favorite), "The Body in the Bag", "The Blackout int he Blizzard", "The Finder", "The Hole in the Heart" and "The Change in the Game."

Season Seven: "The Memories in the Shallow Grave", "The Male in the Mail", The Twist in the Twister", "The Crack i the Code", "The Prisoner in the Pipe", "The Bump in the Road", "The Family in the Feud" and "The Past in the Present."

Season Eight: "The Future in the Past", The Tiger in the Tale", "The Patriot in the Purgatory", "The Maiden in the Mushrooms", "The Pathos in the Pathogens" and "The Secret in the Siege."

Season Nine: "The Secrets int he Proposal", "The Cheat in the Retreat", "The Woman in White", "The Nazi on the Honeymoon", "The Fury in the Jury", "The Drama in the Queen" and "The Recluse in the Recliner."

Season Ten:  "The Conspiracy in the Corpse", "The Lance to the Heart", "The Geek in the Guck", "The Puzzler in the Pit", "The 200th in the 10th", "The Teacher in the Books", "The Putter in the Rough", "The Verdict in the Victims", "The Next in the Last."

Season Eleven: "The Loyalty in the Lie", "The Brother in the Basement", "The Death in the Defense", "The Murder of the Meninist", "The Fight in the Fixer", "The Secret in the Service", "The Movie in the Making", "The Jewel in the Crown" and "The Nightmare within the Nightmare."

Season Twelve: (So far) "The Hope in the Horror", The Brian in the Bot", "The New Tricks in the Old Dogs", "The Flaw in the Saw",  "The Scare in the Score", "The Radioactive Panthers int he Party", "The Day in the Life" and I'm saying this no matter what because I know they'll give us a great ending "The End in the End."

How luck have we, the fans, have been to watch this show, (a little show that could) making it this long on television. Since the beginning I would compare both Brennan and Dr. House (from House) as a brother-sister type characters because they both stood strong and believed what they know and also they were on the same nights with each other (that's mostly why so please don't hate me on that).

But the reason why this show is so popular is not just the crime stories or the science (even though it's proven that this show has really given viewers inspirational to be someone like Bones), but mostly it's about family and how these characters learn and grow and they've have learned and grown in front of us. I'm proud to call them my family. And let's just say that every time I hear "Hot Blooded" I think of Bones and Booth.

As the hours tick to minutes and as the minutes tick to seconds til tonight's series finale, I would just want to finish this off by just saying thank you to the creators, the cast and crew of Bones. For the past 12 seasons there have been a lot of laughs, tears and memorable moments that I'll still remember after the show has ended. I know that tonight's finale will be a tear-jerking emotional one with I hope with a happy ending to say the least.

You can catch the series finale of Bones tonight at 9/8c on FOX.

Through the Eyes of a Cop: Shades Of Blue "Daddy's Girl"

Image result for shades of blue season 2

For one case it brings one person to face his own demons, while Harlee's daughter is looking for her dad by asking one person.

"Daddy's Girl" was a very intense let a long well performed by Ray Liotta, probably his best performance on the show so far. When Woz and Harlee get a call of two drug overdose girls at a party, Woz takes matters into his own hands, because his own daughter killed herself while taking drugs.

Woz goes the distance in finding the man selling the supply and when he does he really pushes it to the guy as he tries to get answers. He pushes so far that he stuffs an entire small bag of them in the guy's mouth and gets him to spell, for which he did but needed an ambulance fast.

But it was after we see Woz walk out and headed towards his office with a look of almost relief and exhausted. He soon talks to his son and explains to him that it wasn't his fault that his sister killed herself that it was his and not only that apologies for not being there as a father but he still thinks that he's done right by his father and grandfather.

While Harlee tries to protect Woz and her crew from Intern Affairs, her daughter ask Stahl to find her daddy and hopes that he'll return. But instead of looking for him (because he's dead and all and they don't know that) he messages her as her father in one of the most creepiest ways possible.

But also Harlee tries to come to Julia about money laundry at a tavern that is connected with the mafia and after a couple of times Julia tries to tell Harlee to stop it. Harlee records the conversation but gets rid of it after listening to Woz about how she helped him back then with something personal.

This was a fantastic episode that Ray Liotta really shined. The expressions in his eyes was just unbelievably amazing. The writing was so so good and left us with s cliffhanger if you didn't see as Harlee was walking towards her car a guy was standing next to it and even talked to her about having a good night. He broke into her trunk of her car and done something. Hell I thought it was a bomb or something but in next week's episode looks like something that she'll be framed for which will be another intense episode for Harlee to overcome. Overall, I give this episode a 8.5/10.

You can catch Shades of Blue Sundays at 10/9c on NBC.

The Meaning of Things: Shades Of Blue "Ghost Hunt"

Image result for shades of blue season 2

What Harlee thinks she knows is not really what Stahl wants at all.

"Ghost Hunt" started off very good and dramatic with such thrilling music playing between Harlee and Woz as they prepare for their morning. Harlee talks with her daughter, who seems to be quiet at times and yet not much to tell her mother about things, let along hanging out with her grandmother's place. While Woz is at home alone after his wife left him after learning his affair with David and just dwells over with booze til his son gets there.

Stahl and his FBI team head over to Harlee's place to take her in after the previous episode had Woz choking him almost to death. Harlee tells him that she can talk Woz down to a level that he'll help with his investigation but he'll have to give her some time and that's what he did and also mention that he's still looking into Miguel and tells her that he's been off the grid.

Woz has a plan and he does it without Harlee but she won't take no for an answer as she'll be along his side til all of this is over to say. He goes after the guy that ordered the bank robbery and tries to get him to show up at the park, but during a stake out, Woz thinks that he might not show and turns out he wasn't but was up on the roof about to take out one of his guys while seating with Harlee. Woz takes the guy and lies to Harlee about it.

But it wouldn't be too long til she figures that Woz has the guy but also gets a call about Christie stealing from a local grocery store. But after picking her up she heads to a local tavern where Woz left someone there and wanted her to let that guy go after spilling out about his boss to Woz.

It was later that Harlee figures out what Woz was doing and gets Stahl to meet her with their guy that they caught. Harlee explains to Stahl but that's not going to cut it with him and shoots the guy dead. There Stahl tells them that Julie was the one that killed his partner and we finally know the reason why he's going after her in the first place.

This was a very good episode and just like This Is Us, this show plays some great music for scenes that just brings the intense feeling to it. The relationship between Harlee, Woz and Stahl have been nothing but great television and this episode was just another level  I do worry about that Internal Affairs dude on where he's sniffing around the team investigating David's disappearance. There were some very good scenes with him and Harlee, mostly at the basement at the Tavern. I can't wait for the next episode to see where these characters goes next. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Shades of Blue Sunday nights at 10/9c on NBC.

Difference of Opinion: Chicago Justice "Friendly Fire"

When a solider is found murdered, it'll lead Stone and the team to one secret that the victim was trying to fix what was right.

"Friendly Fire" could be one of the most intense episodes so far as there's a divided line between what's right and what's not and that's mostly coming from Jefferies and Stone.

When a solider is found murdered, the State's Attorney's office investigates and as it goes interviewing a waitress to even the victim's fiance nothing really was coming together til it just fell right to their lap or in this case on the victim's chest. The autopsy showed a USB disk in the victim's body for which he had kept in there. After trying to see what was in it, they finally saw that it was a video taking place during a mission that went totally wrong, killing someone that they were suppose to rescue and ended up covering it.

Stone and the team learns more that the victim had a book deal and was going to write a tell all book of his experience. Even more that also he sent a check of a lot of money to the victim's family that was killed on their mission because of guilt he had kept for so long. But soon they figure that this might be a cover up and which lead to the arrest of the victim's best friends and also solider buddies that were also on the mission too.

With leverage, Stone's got a slam dunk case, even after getting a judge permission to use the USB disk on trail. But here comes Jefferies and ordering him to not use the video in the case and after telling Stone he's opinion about it and a very specific one at that (because he served in Vietnam), soon Stone stands his grounds and tells him that he should and they conversation ended with if Stone uses it, make sure he has his resignation papers ready.

During the trail things were going good, Stone gave one of the suspect's testimony about what had happen and why him and his partner killed their best friend. But soon word of the tape was mention and after Stone saw Jefferies in the room, he went on using the tape and after all of that the jury found the suspect guilty.

Later on, Stone walks into Jefferies' office to hand him his resignation paper but he wasn't really gonna take it at all. But later we see Jefferies walking into the victim's father's bar and shared a drink with him and talked about medals and their experiences as well.

This was a very good episode along with this being Carl Weather's first time that we get to see his character evolved this time was pretty darn good. As much as I enjoyed the case, I was more into the Stone-Jefferies face of which was just intense and daring. Those two are gonna to make some excellent intense moments down the road. The writing was so good in this episode. Overall, I give this episode a 8.5/10.

You can catch Chicago Justice Sunday nights at 9/8c on NBC.

The Heart to the Floor: Grimm "Zerstorer Shrugged"

Okay. Okay. After waiting more than a few hours and eating the remainder of my birthday cake (2/3) to process last night's second-to-last episode of Grimm. All I have to say is that my emotional meter went haywire.

Picking up from where we left off, Nick and Eve tried to battle the Zerstorer, but nothing affected him. On the other side, Monroe, Adalind, and Renard try to figure out who will go in and get them out, and one option is using Diana to open it.

Meanwhile, at the spice shop, Hank, Wu, and Rosalee search for anything they can find in the books. Hank found a page where the skull creator image shows two different circles, by which it says that to come through the mirror, it needs Nick so it can go through. Rosalee tries calling Monroe about it, but it is too late as Diana opens the portal using the stick. Nick and Eve got out, and the Zerstorer, too, didn't come along with them as it landed in a gas station bathroom.

After Nick and Eve return, Eve isn't a hero anymore. Her powers or spirit is left back on the other side, as Diana tells her. Diana senses that the Zerstorer is coming, and so Nick has the idea to use the cabin where he caught his first Wesen criminal and hide both Renard, Adalind, and the kids there til everything blows over or the beast is dead.  But they place a potion to protect Diana from the beast, so he has no clue where she is.

As Nick, Adalind, and Renard get to the cabin, some flashbacks from memory lane come as not only was it the place that Nick caught his first Wesen but also where he and Renard battled it out, and he gives Nick the first key. After settling in and hugging Adalind, she rushes out to Nick and tells him to be careful, and from that moment, he kisses her for a perfect couple of seconds and tells her that he loves her and that she, too, loves him. It's one of those heartwarming moments I need a tissue for.

Nick meets with Hank and Wu at a crime scene where two dead bodies are found at a gas station, the same gas station that the beast came out from in the bathroom. They see what the beast looks like, and he looks like a steroid-buff Bobby Flay. Soon, they get another of a homeless guy who was attacked by the same guy but with a snake.

As they arrived, Nick received a call from Eve telling him he needed to get to the spice shop. As he comes, he sees that Trubel has returned and tells him that Black Claw is all gone. We learn that the stick that he and Monroe found is apart from the beast's stick, so this turns into a keep away from him, not only Diana Kelly but also the stick (Kelly too because Diana had a bad dream of the beast coming to get her and him).

As Nick meets Hank and Wu at the precinct, Trubel tells him that the beast is heading towards them as they get ready with machine guns. Quickly, the beast is in the building and takes out everyone and almost the entire place, but Nick and the guys come in with guns blazing but don't hurt it and wipe them back with its stick power.

Wu wages and attacks it but suddenly gets killed by the stick as it stabs him in the stomach, shocking Nick and Hank. Hank goes all Scarface and goes after him, but he too gets killed by the stick to the throat, and right then and there, my heart sinks to the floor and probably through the earth to China, I assume. But also the moment comes when Nick is very pissed and goes after the Zerstorer with all he has, but it uses its stick and pushes Nick to the wall as it's unlike he has ever seen or battled before, and after there, we wait to next week.

This was the episode no one should have missed. This was a very, very good episode, as it felt so much like a feature movie. As I said before, I emotionally meter going bonkers from Nick and Adalind's "I love you" moment to the return of Trubel and even the last scene of Wu/Hank's death, not to mention watching Nick fly through the air like that, really sank my heart. Everyone played so well in this episode, but give much credit to Hannah R. Loyd, who gave an excellent and chilling performance. It seems Nick will have to provide his all in the final hour. The promo very much scares me trying to guess what will happen. The writing was outstanding and so memorable (but for me, it'll take some time til I rewatch this again, but I will rewatch it again). Overall, I give this episode 9.5/10.

You can catch the series finale of Grimm this Friday at 8/7c on NBC.

The Blacklist Redemption "Operation Davenport"

Image result for the blacklist redemption

When a group of criminals escapes prison, it turns out to be more than what it seems.

When Scottie and the team get called to search for four criminals that has escape prison, these high terrorist, the search didn't really take too long to find them as they were settled in an apartment. But there was one more who had escaped and that person turns out to be not what we would all assume he was to be.

Tom and Nez go after this guy that is still on the run, who is about to take down the NSA and steal secured documents with a little help from Dumont's brother. Their suspect went all the way to go into an underground meeting and take them down and upload their secret files into his flash drive to expose them.

When Tom and Nez get him and tries to bring him in, they get stopped by another team that also brought their suspect in the first place but this time, they wanted to kill him for good. Tom and Nez takes their guy and hides out in a warehouse dodging these guys and realized that this guy might be as innocent as he may seem.

After killing the leader of the group and escaping, the team searches for who these guys were and figured out that these guys were part of the undercover NSA agents that was ordered by the head of the NSA too and caught the guy in the act when using the dead cover agent's cell phone.

Meanwhile, Scottie seems to find the adoptive parents of her son but it turned out not to be her son at all and it was a misguided form Howard to get her hopes away. And not to mention, Scottie growing suspicious with Tom and his appointments as she had Solomon following him but for along can Tom keep dodging this even though Scottie hasn't figured it out yet.

"Operation Davenport" had a very good A plot but the B plot was a bit slow and away at times but after re-watching it . The performance from Ryan and Janssen were very good and there were some very good character development. There were some good scenes, like Tom and Solomon taken down the escaped terrorist and trying to get the cops out of the place after they were called there to check the place out. This was a good episode. Overall, I give this episode a 7.5/10.

You can catch The Blacklist Redemption Thursday nights at 10/9c on NBC.

Chicago Fire "Telling Her Goodbye"

Image result for chicago fire season 5

Chicago Fire returned last night with an intense episode; talk about a birthday episode to remember.

"Telling Her Goodbye" really made a return (after two weeks) with a bang. The Firehouse 51 deals with a gang coming in and taking over after they need a place to hide from other members trying to kill them.

The episode began like any other day; Dawson and Brett get a call and head out to take care of them, but as soon as things were slow for the 51, gunshots were heard. By the time they tried closing the doors, it was too late, and a group of gang members with one injured forced their way in.

Kidd takes care of the injured one, but things don't go as hoped when she tries to explain the guy's injuries. But one of the members thinks that she's just trying to kill him and not only threatens her family but also knocks her out after she punches him.

Severide sneaks his way to call for help, and as soon as he does, Dawson and Brett get word to stay away from the firehouse, but that doesn't stop them til they open the door and Casey is running to get them to turn away and gets shot in the shoulder.

Now, things go from bad to worse when you think it couldn't get any worse. Herrmann suffers a heart attack, but he gets out and is taken to Dawson and Brett. He only pretends to have a heart attack. I do say that he pretty much fooled me with how he was acting with the sweats and discomfort he was showing.

But at the moment of the episode, the gang member's mother, a young member, gets him to leave and give up. But not listening to her, he goes with what his boss tells him, and they try to make a run with the Squad truck with the help from Cruz and Boden, but as soon as they make their way to the car, the SWAT team goes in and are in a stand as Bowden and the two members get in the truck.

But moments later, that young kid holds his boss' gun down, and Boden tries to get him to let go, but the gun goes off, and the bullet bounces off and lands in the neck of the young kid. The guy is taken away, and Dawson saves that young kid, pulling the shot out of his neck, which blocks blood flow to the brain and heart.

Casey and the gang looked at each other and around them and, after, walked back in as they carried on with their day like they always do.

This episode was excellent as it had me on the edge of my seat and yelling at the television from scenes like Kid D, who's threatened by one of the gang members who also slams her head against the locker doors. Also, watching Severide sneaking around got me on the edge and shaking while yelling be careful! The writing was excellent, as well as the performance of the cast. Overall, I give this episode a 5/10.

You can catch Chicago Fire on Tuesday nights at 10/9c on NBC.

Forgotten Plans: Kevin Can Wait "Double Date"

When Kevin and Donna's best friends don't invite them to a four ticket stay at a fancy hotel, they try their best not acting like they care, even though they really, really, really do.

"Double Date" is another really good half hour of comedy. Kevin and Donna react about not being invited to a four ticket stay at a fancy hotel where there's a spa, food and the best weekend you could have in your life (I guess). But when their best friends don't invite them and invited another couple (also their best friend too).

Jealously plays pretty much in this episode as Kevin and Donna believes that they have other friends they could hangout with, but truly no one. Donna calls a friend, who's husband left her for her sister, and soon asked for their number. Kevin couldn't find any either but with the advice from Chale to look up on the internet they take that but Kevin mistakenly signs them up with couples that love to swing and not in a dancing type of way. But they even get turned down from a swinging couple because they weren't feeling it.

After arguing, Kevin and Donna finally go to the hotel with their Russian neighbor and his girlfriend. When they spot their friends across the room, Kevin and Donna tries to get things excited but it wasn't as excited if a child was watching the cook preparing their meal.  But Kevin tries to hype it up and perform to them after flipping shrimp to Donna and their neighbor, he's best friend comes over and asked what they were doing, Kevin and Donna express their hurt that they picked another couple over them.

But the only reason why they didn't asked was that Kevin said he was going to be busy for the next couple of Saturdays because of building the children's play ground for the church for which Kevin forgets and accidentally lets go of the knife and lands on his neighbor's hand and after pulling it out, Kevin faints and lands his head on the grill burning his face. But at the end, Kevin and Donna forgive their best friends and had dinner the rest of the night but Kevin's neighbor was left out and put across the room.

I enjoyed watching this episode a lot and that in face I watched it more than once after it aired. There were many many hilarious moments, one them being the egg jokes that Kevin tries to bring in, the snow kiss movie and not to mention Donna and Kevin learning that they're hanging out with swingers and that they got turned down by them. I thought James and Hayes were really good in this episode, probably one of their best episodes so far this season as they really show chemistry. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Kevin Can Wait Monday nights at 8/7c on CBS.

Two Worlds Apart: Grimm "Where The Wild Things Are"

Let the games begin!

"Where the Wild Things Are" picks up minutes after the previous episode where Monroe and Rosalee finds the mirror uncover and a hexinbeist book opening figuring out that Eve has gone through and calling Nick and Adalind to figure something out how to get Eve out. With Nick not allowing Adalind to go in there, he goes using the stick, but when he goes through it stays with Adalind and Monroe.

When Nick goes though he awakens to a different world of Wesen and humans seeing blutbads attacking other wesen and humans. Eve finds Nick and the two tries to find their way around looking for the black skull that they learn is called Zerstorer.

Meanwhile, with no other solution on getting Nick and Eve out, Adalind and the gang calls on Renard to tell them what he knows about these signs, but also give him the rundown of what has been happening. After he calls on his friend that he's asked about the symbols  and soon get word that this has to do with a Shaphat, or devil and is looking for it's bride.....Diana. After telling Adalind and the gang what his friend said, they go out to get everything they need to figure out what to do.

Meanwhile, Nick and Eve meets a group of humans after being chased by blutbads and after killing a couple of them in front of them they were accepted. Nick asked the leader of the group about what they're looking for and draws the face of it on a rock. After eating a piece of cooked blutbad, don't tell Monroe about this, the leader takes them to it, but gets freak out when Eve starts woging slowly.

There's a moment when Nick and Eve are at the rock that she tells Nick and Juliette is gone and that being happy only gets in the way of things. I feel that watching that scene really made me change the way Eve/Juliette has been over the years. But also gives a bit of closure as well. The two faces with the Zerstorer and for which left us with a on the edge cliffhanger.

This episode felt like a beginning of a feature film. The settings were amazing, mostly the circle rock. I loved how everyone played a great role in this episode. Bistie Tulloch was at her best in this episode with such great dialogue with David Giuntoli. There were many humorist moments from the gang meeting with Renard to even Wu making a joke about how this feels like how Alice falling through the looking glass. The writing was so good. Overall I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Grimm Friday nights at 8/7c on NBC.

Shocked Value: Chicago Med "Monday Mourning"

Image result for Chicago Med Season 2

It's one of those moments you would never see coming in this episode of Chicago Med.

"Monday Mourning" is very much what the episode describes on a regular morning; everyone is doing their business at Med when suddenly, a medical resident commits suicide by jumping off the hospital rooftop.

Shocked by all, each doctor and nurse reflects differently, and it depicts it so well. Halstead and Choi fight each other heads on a case of a child with stroke-like symptoms, but it turns out to be a psychological issue when Charles figures out that the kid is trying to stop his parents from moving. Halstead denies the resident's death but comes around while Choi tries to push on by keeping the workflow going but does mourn the resident's loss nicely at the end.

Manning deals with a child who falls into a frozen river. With the needed equipment not available, they tried to get the kid warmed up; they had to keep his heart running by performing CPR. Later, Manning reflects and talks to Goodwin about how she never really knew the resident and if that had made her a monster, which it doesn't.

Also, the Reese/Rhodes story plot was perfect, and it was kind of a bit of deja vu from the pilot when they both worked together on a patient who needed a balloon to stop the bleeding around the heart. Also, not only did Rhodes and Reese reflect on the resident death, but he shows her that they make mistakes and learn from them and gives a great example when that same patient, whom he was performing heart surgery, had a different condition than he saw before and caused that other patient to die on the table, but not this one and shows Reese how it's done.

And also April breaks up with her finance too, which wasn't a total shock; after losing a baby and other things, it just seemed the best that they break it off. But the most memorable moment came when, after all day observing the doctors and giving advice to Halstead, Choi, and even Goodwin, Dr. Charles was asked by Reese how he was doing and responded by saying he was not good. That response was the pot that boiled over with emotion and grief.

I loved this episode and enjoyed it to the fullest. Not only did each actor perform so well, but the writing was excellent, and the directing was terrific as they captured the emotion of each doctor. Like Manning, after the boy wakes up and the mother apologizes for calling her a monster, she walks to the doctor's lounge with the camera following her and captures the emotions of not just the patient but the grieving as well. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10

This Is Us "Moonshadow" Season Finale

Image result for This Is Us

Well, after going through a box and a half of Kleenexes, last night's season finale  was one hell of an emotional ride.

In the episode, we picked up where we left off from last week, Jack is driving up to see Rebecca's show. Driving and drinking, we think that somehow he might get into an accident, but he doesn't and makes it to the show. When he gets there, he waits for her and orders drink after drink until he gets going and finds her in her dressing room. When she wasn't there in her room, he asked Ben where she was at and soon Ben apologizes to Jack for trying to kiss her, for which is why she wasn't in her room.

Jack punches Ben and soon Rebecca shows up and leaves the band to take Jack back home. We see flashbacks of them in 1972, where Jack is trying to make his big shot: trying to open a automatic shop and get out of his dad's house. He gets his friend to get them into a poker game, Jack makes a lot but quickly looses it. For Rebecca she awaits for a letter in the mail to see if she would get a record deal but also her friends tell her that she should think of getting into a relationship. After getting a rejection letter, she calls and is set up with a guy, we think is Jack, but it really wasn't as it was some Wall Street guy.

Meanwhile, Jack comes up with one plan to get the money: stealing from the bar. As Jack awaits for that decoy phone call from his friend to distract the bartender, he also has a date too, thinking that it was Rebecca but it wasn't as well. As the bartender answered the phone, Jack grabs the money and makes a run at it but is stopped by someone performing on stage...Rebecca.

As Rebecca drives Jack home, things were very quiet and tense. You don't have to have music playing during the scenes when they were in the car or when they are at home. Jack apologizes to Rebecca about it and he will get help, but for Rebecca Jack doesn't have a drinking problem, but more of that he doesn't want her to have a career and soon the flood gates just busted open with feeling of anger and sadness. After they argued, Rebecca went to bed and the next day she didn't find Jack on the floor in the hall of their bedroom but on the couch and she tells him that he should stay with Miguel for a while til things blow over.

As soon as Jack is packed, he tells her the reason why he fell in love with her that with everything that he had gone through, she was the big break that he was hoping for and along with that he tells her how their kids won't be hurt from the separation, they'll do great things and we learn in the present time: Kate decides to become a singer, Kevin says goodbye to Sophia as he heads off to meet with Ron Howard for a film and Randall looks through a photo album and tells Beth that he wants to adopt a child.

"Moonshadow" was another home run of an episode but also probably the best season ender that I could remember. My emotions were running sky high. It really showed the highs and the real real low points for our favorite TV couple.  For the first time watching Jack and Rebecca arguing at each other was one of the most powerful scene in the episode as it both emotional but the first time we see them go the distance in their fight. Hands down give Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore and Emmy for their performance in this episode. They really brought it in this episode. The writing was so amazing and rich. Overall, I give this episode a 10/10.

This Season: This Is Us has really been literally the best new series and the best show of this season. This show really brings a new way of family comedy-drama in a different way that we haven't seen before. The writing was so so strong from almost every episodes but mostly memorable ones like: Pilot, The Game Plan, Pilgrim Rick, The Trip, Last Christmas, The Big Day, Memphis and also Moonshadow. The performances from Ventimiglia, Moore, Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley, Sterling K. Brown, Susan Kelechi Watson, Chris Sullivan and Ron Cephas Jones magnificent and sensational. This show should take away a lot of nominations at the Emmys this year. Overall this season has been a 9.5/10.

Shades of Blue "Eye of A Hurricane"

Image result for shades of blue season 2

Beware as the storm has come full force.

After last week's season premiere, this past Sunday's episode was still on fast speed on intense drama. And most of it was calling off the buffs of each other.

When Harlee meets up with Wozniak at the local diner, not talking to her or when Stahl shows up as well but gives both of them a message from his orders: a blueberry pie (Harlee hates) and a child's pancake for Stahl (either because he's got child like features, I guess). But let's just say wit Harlee there to translate for Wozniak, it made for some funny moments.

Stahl wants a name of the politician that is connected to the mod boss that they arrested last week. We all know it's Julie but Wozniak or Harlee wants to take her down because she was one of them in the past and Harlee has to testify in court on the charges against that mod boss, for which didn't stick because the Judge dismissed it.

But Harlee gets threaten by the mod boss when they're in the elevator together and so she reopens the case of the judge (who dismissed the case) look at the accident that was also dismissed before Hurricane Sandy came which she tries to find the officer at the time, for which she found at Julie's party.

Meanwhile, the moment of the episode happens to be between Wozniak and Stahl, when they each try to call each other buffs. Stahl frozen all of Wozniak's credit cards, Wozniak turning in the video of Stahl from his hotel room with a stripper when he was at the court hearing for custody of his son. Then the gloves really came off when Stahl leak the tape of him with his relationship with Donnie Pomp and that got Woz beating the crap out of him but thanks to Harlee he stopped choking him and walked away.

"Eye of a Hurricane" was one hell of a roller coaster ride of an episode that had really good writing and the characters was unbelievable (mostly Harlee, Woz and Stahl). Liotta and Warren Kole really put the meaning of hated rivalry back on television. As Jennifer Lopez would say on American Idol, "I got all gooses (goosebumps) all over." Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10.

You can catch Shades of Blue Sunday nights at 10/9c on NBC.

You Don't Know: Chicago Justice "Judge Not"

When a court judge gets gunned down outside a local bar and the only person that was there was Valdez.

After a case not going Valdez's way, and judge and her planned to met for dinner at a bar and after their meeting when they went to both their cars, the judge is shot to death. Valdez stunned and determine to help with the case but Stone wouldn't allow it.

As Stone and his team dig deep on who would want to kill the judge, they go through his family: a foster child that him and his wife were to adopt, but she gives them and the team a run for their money as she's a bit of a wild child. Also threats to the judge were looked at too after he ruled a raped case to give the defendant a lighter sentence.

Through the episode, Stone asked twice to three times to Valdez what was she doing at the bar, but doesn't give an honest answer, thinking that it wasn't a big deal in the case. Yeah it was! But when Antonio and Laura finds a lead that lead back to a rape victim that the judge had ruled, but she tells them that she didn't kill him but a gun that she owns put her towards the murder.

Well, the gun that they said she had, she totally forgot about it and left it with her ex-boyfriend's place. Antonio and Laura get there, asked a couple of questions and gets a vibe from him that this might be the suspect and it turns out that the motorcycle in the garage that had a sticker on the front of the bike window turns out to be the right guy.

As the court case begins, it was going back and forth for the Stone and heading to a down fall after Valdez was gave her testimony as she was with the judge. But after a discussion with Dr. Charles, he figured what the motivate was for the suspect to do this crime...to protect his girlfriend out of jealously that she was with another guy, who are about to get married soon and he buster it out in open court in front of everyone before the it could begin.

:"Judge Not" was a pretty good episode. It pushed the characters between Stone and Valdez's relationship. The writing was pretty good as was performances from Monica Barbaro and Winchester as well.  The story did have some twist and turns and some doubts of what Valdez was doing with the judge but turns out that he was trying to help him with his adopted daughter move on the right track. All I have to say after seeing that child is may god be with her. Overall, I give this episode 8/10.

The Blacklist Redemption "Independence, U.S.A."

Image result for the blacklist redemption

Over the waters and into Russia to grandma's house we go?

When the a plane crashes in Russia, but the task force learns that what was near was totally something that could only be a threat to the United States.

When Scottie learns of a plane crash in Russia, he sends Tom and Solomon out to investigate what was near the crash site. It turns out that there's a camp that I might call it The Americans boot camp. As Tom gets photos, Scottie sends him and Nez there undercover and there they are given profile of names and their character bios.

The whole operation was to get these people to train as their characters so well that they would replace the real person in the United States and attack the country. Nez would show as a person to move up in the list to travel to the USA after showing the banker who's really boss after he touched her leg.

Also Tom gets a bit close to his fake life of a wife and bonded pretty good but she turned on him but she got the hit of it when Nez hits her with the car and they escape from Russia. But their plan was underway and with no time, Solomon and his crew got there in time to stop the bombers thanks to his wit and charm.

Meanwhile, Scottie learns that Howard had been searching for their son before he had allegedly died. But also Howard tells Tom that he thinks that Scottie is not who she said she is and that she's an impostor.  But who could you believe in this situation a man who is off his meds or the woman who takes bold moves to get things the way she wants?

"Independence, U.S.A." was very fun and intense episode. I thought the writing was pretty good and that the character performances was good as well. Love seeing Tom and Nez spending some time and getting to know each other, mostly Nez who still has a drug problem. I do love the Howard and Scottie battle as it's getting intense and with next week's episode I can't wait to see what happens next. Overall, I give this episode a 8.5/10.

You can catch The Blacklist Redemption Thursday nights at 10/9c on NBC.

Kevin Can Wait "Showroom Showdown"

With it being March, the madness is shown in this week's episode of Kevin Can Wait.

As Kevin tries to make additional money for Kendra's wedding at a sales warehouse, Chale decides to pitch in and work with him. But when Chale gets promoted to sales, Kevin shows is competitive side.

Meanwhile, Kendra and Donna tries to make some wedding cuts with the guest and decides to take the single ones and get them hooked up. Like they did for Kyle how hooked up with Kendra's best friend. They hit it off at first but Kyle decides not to pursue her because of her teeth.

"Showroom Showdown" was a nice welcome back episode after being off for a couple of week. It was funny and there were some memorable scenes like Kevin trying his best to stay in the store instead of the hot warehouse. Also when Kevin smack talk to Chale and eats a bad donut which had pineapple filling.

Also I did fine the second story about Kendra and Donna funny but the only memorable moment was when Kyle tells them about how he didn't like Kendra's friend's teeth as he puts it "not new golf ball white." The writing was good as so was the performance. And it was about time I think that we saw Chale and Kevin going at it. Overall, I give this episode a 8/10.

You can catch Kevin Can Wait Monday nights at 8/7c on CBS.

Sticking To What's Right: Chicago Med "Prisoner's Dilemma"

Image result for Chicago Med Season 2

This week's episode of Chicago Med was another intense episode.

"Prisoner's Dilemma" really pushed our characters to their high point of what they think see is wrong to what seems to be the right thing to do.

Manning gets a coma patient, who comes in what they think is a bladder infection, but turns out after checking with an ultrasound the patient is pregnant. The thing is that the patient has been in a coma fro five years, so they call CPD gets Erin and they try to find the person that has assaulted her. When the patient's parents come in they decide that they want to keep the baby, shocking Manning.

Manning believes that it's wrong. When she discusses it with Maggie, she sees that the patient eyes open for a few seconds. She quickly jumps the gun and orders test on her, for which nothing shows anything that would be any good news. But when it seems to be a defeat for her, she gets a visit from the Neurosurgeon about it and checks on two things of his theory with the second one being correct that she isn't in a coma that she's paralyzed and will be able to speak by using computers and such.

After losing her baby last week, April comes back and tries to get her mind off that matter. She helps treat a daughter, who comes in with a heart condition, but also the child's mother also becomes a problem as well when she finds her in the bathroom throwing up small bags of cocaine and flushes them down the toilet. Choi and April tries to treat her and get two of the remaining bags in her, so they get one out but the other explodes and causes her to have a cocaine heart attack.

But Choi knows that he has to report it to Goodwin about the patient being a drug mule because it's the law, but April believes that she shouldn't go to jail because of her daughter and that it wasn't her fault. Taking it up with Goodwin, the verdict was in that no charges would be on the mother after it was an all in favor that it was only one bag of cocaine in her system. But Choi hated for what April did and was pretty pissed off about it.

Meanwhile, Reese gets a tour of the psych ward at County and meets a patient that believes that she doesn't belong there. Reese encounters with her by telling her there's no such thing as crazy but hours later that patient comes in who drink dangerous liquids and asked to see Reese.  Charles thinks that Reese set her mind up for it and after listening to the patient, Reese thinks that she might not be that crazy but she keeps doing harmful things to herself for which makes a tougher case.

After taking advice from Halstead about looking back at the patient's history, Reese tells Charles that her patient was placed in a mental ward because of her mother. Finding out that cops have come in with domestic abuse complaints and takes their patient away. Charles talks to Dr. Baker about it and she takes a threat from him about rechecking her work on her patient. But there was nothing Charles or Reese could do for now, but to file a review of the patient.

I enjoyed this episode so much. It's amazing to watch Manning go the distance for her patients, just like another someone on the ED, someone like Halstead. There were a couple of good #Manstead moments. I thought that Reese story plot was very good and intense at times because that girl just doesn't seem to do any favors for Reese and Charles to prove that she isn't crazy. Not to mention was April did was the right thing to do, I don't care what the law says. And even though it wasn't in the recap, I thought watching Dr. Latham telling a joke was a bit funny and confusing but also watching him calm the little girl down before surgery was heartwarming but also he gets emotionally tied while the girl was in distress as well. I thought the writing was very good. The performance was as good too. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago Med Thursday nights at 9/8c on NBC.

Just Let Go: Grimm "Blood Magic"

Image result for Grimm Blood MagicWhen a wesen attacks two people, Nick and the gang gets an unexpected turn when they find out who and why these attacks have happened. Plus Eve has become the bookworm this week.

There have been a couple of attacks happening around Portland and when Nick, Hank and Wu get the call they try their best to capture the wesen. But with only little footage from a couple of places doesn't quite help until word of a home care aide murdering a home care patient.

When Nick and Hank meet up with the suspect, he tells them that the patient, a 91 year old lady, turned into a monster and attacked him. He said he was trying to defend himself until she turned back and his boss came in seeing him choking her.

But the autopsy comes in and there was bug saliva inside the 91 year old woman. Nick and Hank talked to Monroe and Rosalee about it and they know what it is that killed her but they suggest that Nick leaves it well alone. They tell Nick that she was killed by "The Godfather of Death" who comes to wesen that suffers from severe Alzheimer's and dementia and puts them out to that goodnight sleep.

Nick wants to meet with this Godfather and they do, as he's the doctor at the home care. After another freak out of him being a Grimm (I do love it), they talk about how he put her to sleep and that he was too late by the time she was woge.

Soon he gets a call from a lady that her husband, who has attacked her and suffers from Alzheimer's, it out of the house and is scared. It turns out that this was the lady that was at the Spice Shop buying a lot of sleeping meds. Rosalee comes to find out that it was for her husband and by all willing the attacks turns out to be coming from that lady's husband.

And by the time Nick, Hank and Monroe finds and brings the husband back to the house, you could just sense that things were going to get pretty emotional. After Nick compares the canes from the video and his, he let the doctor do his thing and put the man into that long goodnight.

Image result for Grimm Blood Magic
Meanwhile, Eve has been the very definition of being hyper on finding a way into that world through the mirrors. She asked for Adalind's help and gets her mother's books for Eve to search around. Nick tells her to wait and let them do it together, but you know she wan't gonna listen to him. As soon as she found the chapter on "Blood Magic" she tries looking for Rosalee but no one was home and she pulls off of smearing blood in the mirror, which opened up and of course she goes in.

"Blood Magic" could only be described heartbreaking with a 75 percent chance of going for the tissues after the episode. For me as a home care aide, who hasn't taken care of someone who's suffering from Alzheimer's or dementia but has seen and heard through others about it, this really got me emotionally sad. That second to last scene when they brought the husband and watching him and his wife have one last moment and Nick allowing the doctor to do his thing was simply overwhelming.

Image result for Grimm Blood MagicThere were some non emotional moments, like when Rosalee gets the call from the Godfather of Death and telling him that her husband is in a serve stage of dementia because they were trying to get him to meet with Nick.

Also the interaction with Adalind and Eve was pretty good as well that last phone call was like something out of high school or college. And not to mention the Nick and Adalind moment for all those #Nadalind fans out there.

Oh and I can't forget Renard and Nick moment that as I kept saying to the television set, "Your move Sean. It's all on you. Nick doesn't have to do anything."

The writing was outstanding. It was literally I thought a good ensemble performance all around. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Grimm (with only three episodes left) Friday nights at 8/7c on NBC.

Motivation with Heart: Powerless "Cold Season"

When Emily sees Teddy's new invention, she tries to motivate him by entering him in the company's contest. But motivation isn't what she got out of him.

When Emily sees that Teddy has a new invention to help during the cold season (a season of when ice power super villains come around and freeze everything), she thinks that it would be a great invention to enter into the Wayne Innovation contest.

At first Teddy doesn't think he should and bails out, but Emily pushes his buttons and gets him to improve it, but he freaks out when the popcorn bag didn't pop all the kernels. Emily gets teased from another group of guys from another division and makes her enter Teddy's invention. She tells him about it but only that his invention got into the finals. Full of excitement, Teddy brings his family (mother, father and successful brother who happens to be a space doctor) over to tell them about the contest, but Emily comes over with word that he lost and let's just say Teddy doesn't take it very well and goes crazy.

Emily tries to cheer him up by showing the invention that won (not helping at all!). They both talk it out and Emily admits that she wanted to do it for her but also to get everyone on the team spirits up. She tries to tell him that her sister is a successful one (a dog walker)  but that really didn't help at all until the Crimson Fox shows up and protected them from Frostbite. With everything frozen expect for Emily and Teddy, he uses the heat gloves to thaw Fox out.The two made up their differences and I believe their friendship has gotten stronger as well. And also the Crimson Fox takes the gloves and ended the cold season for Charm City.

Meanwhile during the episode, Van tries to get someone to put a toy car together for a kid, because he's dating her mother. He gets Ron to do it, even though he doesn't and wants to have fun during cold season, but Van keeps pushing him to build the invisible plane for the girl and even asked for more. After pushing Ron's buttons, he tells Van no more and hangs up on him. But he apologizes and after listening to Van's story about his father and the tree house, Ron got right a way on making the blue prints thinking that it was for Van but it was for his girlfriend's daughter.

I really enjoyed this episode, mostly watching Vanessa Hudgens and Danny Pudi is just amazing and funny. Probably the two scenes I loved the most was when Emily and Teddy tested the heat gloves on the frozen car door and with the bag of popcorn. Also the scene when they were outside thawing out Crimson Fox. The second story plot was pretty good too, it wasn't a whole lot to grab on or remember it later on. The writing was pretty good a lot of funny moments, including the cold open was a good one about Cold Season. Overall, I give it a 8.5/10.

You can catch Powerless Thursdays at 8:30/7:30c on NBC.

Love You Even More: This Is Us "What Now?"

Image result for This Is Us

This week's episode probably brought in more laughs than tears but all around it showed that you can have a good time at a memorial.

"What Now?" not only delivered some emotional points but it brought in some very humorist moments that shows that funerals are for celebration and not so much grieving and crying ( no offense). It also opened up a bit of about Jack's death just a bit, for which we might or might not know at the end of the season (I think not).

William left a not for Randall's girls to encourage them to throw a celebration of his life in lieu of his funeral. While things were coming around, Beth becomes emotional because she never got that proper goodbye from him, but at the end she gets a post card that William promised that he sent from Memphis.

Randall takes everything at easy with the funeral and all, but gets a gift from the office that's more tasteful than thoughtful (a box of pears that says thinking of you from the team). He confronts them after watching Kevin's play and tells his boss upfront how he spent a lot of his time (20 hours a week) to get everything working and after everything that he has gone through he tells his boss and others that he quits and walks out with a big smile on his face.

Not to mention, Rebecca tells Randall that she's sorry for what she has done but he doesn't regret meeting him late in life and that in fact he still loves her even more. For which, was one of my favorite scenes.

Kevin tries to get the New York Times critic to come back to his play after writing a review that he wasn't in because of helping with Randall. But after his play, the critic didn't show but that really didn't matter because he tells Sophie that he came back to New York for her. But later he gets a call from Ron Howard about a film that he thinks that Kevin is perfect for after seeing his play with his daughter.

Kate on the other hand takes the whole funeral duties seriously by getting the balloons. She breaks down and rushes out of the house while Toby tries to get her to speak about her dad. But Randall comes to easy her pain and tells her about a dream he has of both Jack and William talking about him just laughing.

Kate does begin to tell Toby about her dad's death but tells him that she's the one to blame. We see Jack still dealing with his emotions towards Rebecca and her band going out on tour.

When she was heading out, Jack only kisses her on the cheek and Kate looks at him and tells him to go out there to give her a proper goodbye kiss, but was too late. Dropping the kids at a sleepover, he heads over to the bar for an employee's retirement party, after rethinking he runs towards a payphone and tells Kate that he's going to fix his marriage and it was her that helped him see that and heads out, drinking and driving.

This was another great episode that really had a great balance of humor and emotional moments. Really the entire cast was outstanding. No one really out duo anyone at all. The writing was so so good. As much as Kate's storyline as been a bit slow I feel that it's getting better. Now even though we learn about how Kate blames herself for her dad's death, I don't know if we'll see how he dies at the end of the season. I just have that feeling that it might be at the beginning of the second season, but it would be nice to learn and overcome that event closing one season and opening another.

What did you think of the episode? Leave a comment.

You can catch the season finale of This Is Us Tuesday nights at 9/8c on NBC.

Chicago Justice "See Something"

On a very special episode of Chicago Justice, it's one of the most talked about conversations to date.

"See Something" could be the staple episode of what Chicago Justice stands on television and that is tackle the hard issues and headlines that make us think and literally talk about it. This episode just hits the nail on the head no doubt about it.

When the States Attorneys office tackles a sensitive case when a Muslim graduate student was found brutally murdered both Stone and Valdez tries to convict a fraternity student. But that all changed when Antonio and Nagel finds out that the student was set up and instead arrested the victim's best friend.

During the trial, it may look like a slam dunk for Valdez as they got the key eye witness but when that eye witness testified, things kind of went south as the defendant's lawyer asked her not only about her hijab but also her health as she's a Type 1 Diabetic, who's eye sight aren't good.

For Stone, he wasn't too happy as he called it "being naked out there." But when he redirected and asked the witness about her health and also got her to read the three fingers that the court deputy was holding up, it seemed to look good back to them.

But when the defendant testified, he not only admitted it to killing his best friend but also that he did it because his best friend was a terrorist. Damn, what a left turn that took! Hell, he even told about a video on his friend's phone that was for ISIS. Of course, State's Attorney Jefferies wasn't too pleased with this and told Stone to cut a deal, but the defendant didn't want it so Stone took the route and headed on.

Stone questions the defendant about how he killed the victim and really just got him to admit that he was jealous of him for getting a lot of rewards for his work in physics. And after that, Stone got to give is closing remarks that really is a thinker. And by that the verdict was in and the defendant was found guilty.

This episode was so good and a really conversation piece as well, something that a legal drama doesn't really show these days expect for SVU and This Is Us. There were moments that I though that this episode might go a completely the other way with Stone, Jefferies and Valdez talking about race and patriots. Te writing was so solid and the cast from Winchester, Weathers and even Monica Barbaro was great. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago Justice on it's regular time, Sundays at 9/8c on NBC.

Buckle Up: Shades of Blue "Unforgiven" Season Premiere

Image result for shades of blue season 2

After the events of what happen in the season finale, trust is probably out the door for a while.

"Unforgiven" marks the first episode of season two of Shades of Blue. After Det. Harlee Santos told er boss Lt. Matt Wozniak that she was the mole for Special Agent Robert Stahl of the FBI, the tables have really turned now that pushes these characters to another level of holy shit.

The episode picks up right where we left off with only a few minutes before when Harlee snaps her abusive ex's neck. Stunned for a minute or two, she moves to get rid of the body by dumping it to a fellow Detective's grave, for which he was framed by her as the mole to Wozniak. Placing the body in the grave, she cuts the body apart with tool helped provided by a fellow Intel.

Meanwhile, Wozniak meets with Stahl and talk up of a deal of how Stahl needs a dirty cop to get find the person that orders for the dirty calls, for which is a former NYPD Detective and runner for Julia Ayres (played by Anna Gunn), who has ties with the head mafia of Brooklyn.

Wozniak would have a talk with Julia after arresting the the head mafia of Brooklyn and talk of how this should not be anything but a misunderstanding. He's pissed at the situation that he's in, but for Julia she figures out that someone is pushing him to do what he did and that they should go after the person that is involved for which is includes Harlee for one thing.

This was one hell of an episode that at the moment that Harlee moved the body we were off to the races of intense drama. The scenes with Lopez and Liotta was outstanding and also gave me some of the chills watching scenes from when they were on the car ride to talking in Wozniak's garage during the storm. Also Lopez's performance with Sarah Jeffery couldn't be more heartwarming but also just chilling as she was explaining to her of the act that she did to get her dad away while seeing her sneak in and taking the money back to burn.

This episode really sets up for one hell of a ride of I have no clue where it will go but I'm definitely going to buckle up every Sunday night and watch to see where this will go. The writing was very good and the performance from Lopez, Liotta and Anna Gunn was great. Overall, I give this episode a 8.5/10.

You can catch Shades of Blue Sunday nights at 10/9c on NBC.

Chicago Justice "Uncertainty Principle"

In the series premiere of Chicago Justice, Dawson is faced with an unease case that involves a former partner from CPD.

"Uncertainly Principle" is the series premiere of the fourth installment of "Chicago" series that really has that old feel of Law & Order, but fresh and exciting.

When a case comes to the States Attorney's office of a man died in a jail cell, all signs show that the man's death was caused from a CPD officer, Kevin Atwater. With only video clips that put together of Atwater and the victim, Atwater would be charged with murder.

To help Atwater out, Voight calls on Paul Robinette, the former ADA on Law & Order, also worked wit Peter Stone's father Ben as well. Robinette and Stone meet and talked about the case and fathers as in Peter shouldn't leave bad terms with his dad, no matter what they were.

The trail didn't seem to go in Atwater's favor and what seems to be one last hope, Robinette talks Peter on a plead agreement, which was a year in prison (my jaw dropped). But something sparked when the conversation of the victim puking on someone in the jail cell.

Stone and Valdez speaks with the witness that testified and got him lying about it and that he was the one that killed the victim because he didn't get a cigarette from him. Later, Atwater was clear of all charges and Peter Stone not only gives his apologies to Atwater but also a word about justice, for which was moving and chilling as well.

This episode was outstanding, literally one of the best legal dramas on television in a while. The cast is another outstanding ensemble bunch that plays so so well with one another. Winchester and Seda give a very good performance as one tries to help his former partner while the other tries to prosecute him. The writing was so good as this seems to be a classic ripped from the headlines that was kind of bunched up into one great episode. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago Justice on a special night Tuesday at 10/9c on NBC and on it's regular night Sundays at 9/8c on NBC.

Grimm "Tree People"

If a tree kills someone does it make a sound? Yeah I know that's probably a stupid question to ask but that's the one thing I could come up with for this episode of Grimm.

"Tree People" not only brought some memorable humor but also a great PSA on how we should protect out environment.

Let's get to the calendar meaning, as everyone seems to be on mirror buddy watch for now til they figure out what the hell that black skull guy is. With Diana given that it wasn't a dream but  it's something that's real soon and that it's gonna take place through the mirror. So I guess bucket up.

The case of the week might be someone we would love to be the head of our EPA in this country. Talk about a tree warrior who punishes those that harm mother nature. After a couple of killings, one killing a deer and another dropping toxic waste in the woods.

Nick, Hank and Wu do some dirty up too and meets a Kinoshimobe after it was chasing Rosalee. When Nick confronts the Kinoshimobe, he slashes it with his ax and kills it. But the tree that he's protecting, also feeds on dead humans, is pulled and used for that tree's source of food.

The episode was very good with some memorable humorist moments from Wu telling Monroe how much he'll sleep peacefully the night after killing the kinoshimobe and grabs the big sword showing him how with that. Also Monroe and Rosalee going to bed and seeing a face like image in their ceiling and decides to pant it. Also watching Nick and Adalind checking for monsters in the mirror as Nick shaves but then they both decide that Nick is better off with an unshaven face (I think we all do, right?).

I thought that they hit how much our environment and the woods is important to us catching some very nice images of animals playing and exploring. The monster of the week was pretty cool and not much of a monster monster but one of those good monsters that you would love to have around. Overall, I give this episode a 8/10.

You can catch Grimm Friday nights at 8/7c on NBC.

#OneChicago Chicago Fire "Deathtrap"/Chicago PD "Emotional Proximity"/Chicago Justice "Fake"

Image result for Chicago Fire, Chicago PD Chicago Med Chicago Justice crossover

Talk about one hell of an emotional roller-coaster ride!

Wednesday night was the epic four-show crossover of all four Chicago series. It started with the Chicago Fire in "Deathtrap," which opened up with Firehouse 51 getting the call of a warehouse fire that called for every firehouse and ambulance to get there. It was a hands-on-deck situation.

For the first 30 minutes of the episode, it felt like an hour, and that was because it felt so raw, emotional, and movie-like episode. I mean, I was getting teary eyes at times, and my heart was pumping fast. Severide tries to get everyone out as he tries to bust the locked door, and soon, both Squad and Truck go in there.

They get others out, and even Mouch had an accident as well. But the moment comes when Al, from PD, comes to Bowden and tells him that his daughter lives there. He first searches and sees if Dawson has seen her, but no signs at all. Al begs Bowden to go back in there, which Bowden does. He and Severide find her and another person, and with the fire growing and growing, their hearts race, but they make it out.

Both Fire and Med share the hour, treating patients but also treating Al's daughter, with Will and Natalie on hand. Al's daughter was burned 60 percent of her body, and her lungs also suffered smoke burns. Things looked hopeful for her. The episode captured the realness of emotion and shock as Casey and Bowden look at those who didn't make it and wonder who the hell would have done this.

The warehouse owner shows up and soon gets attacked by grieving families and friends. They took him to Firehouse 51 to talk with Bowden and the Fire Deputy about the situation. He tells them that he didn't know it was going to be that many people and the reason why he let people live there was that other places were so high on rent. After hearing the death count up to 36, the owner asks for the bathroom and seconds later blows his head off with a gun. Severide and Susan inspect the warehouse and spot the origins of the fire and that it was arson.

Soon, Chicago PD jumps on the case in the episode "Emotional Proximity" when Voight tries to see Al and his daughter and gets word from Bowden that it is arson. Quickly, Al's daughter takes a turn for the worst, and Will and Natalie jump. In and cut the burns around her chest so her lungs can expand. Things didn't look so good for her, and it didn't as later her condition worsened to the point that her organs were failing.

Voight and the Intelligence Unit pulled everything they had into searching for the suspect. You can cut the emotional intentions with a knife. It was sometimes overwhelming, even in the scene when Erin takes Al's daughter's photo and places it with the others who have died, making in 38 people.

Like insignificant episodes like PD, they balanced out the drama and humor along with an incredible chase scene with Halstead jumping over the hood of a car, which was a nasty ass and one of my favorites. With suspect after suspect, things picked up when they got a video of the suspect leaving the warehouse party and soon figured that he'd be there at the memorial, which he was.

Erin, Halstead, and Ruzek get him moving the alley and right into Voight's hand, or should I see Voight's gun? If you think that would be intense, it was when he and the suspect wrecked in the cage, and he demanded answers, even with a knife to the neck, which didn't do much. But Al storms in and demands to have a word, for which Voight wouldn't allow it. But soon, Antonio gets word from Al that the suspect told him he did it, which wasn't what had happened.

Now, taking the suspect into custody, we jump to Chicago Justice, the first full episode, and look into the series since its pilot episode last season on CPD. Antonio finds out that the suspect didn't tell Al or Voight anything that he had caused the fire and soon tells Stone about it a day later, which doesn't help.

The suspect's lawyer plays Stone like a game and tries to get the trial dismissed. With the fake news report to even that the suspect was even raped by his uncle, but it all comes down to one victim from the fire that triggered him to do what he did.

This whole thing was all about a girl he liked, and asked her out for coffee, but she declined and told him she was busy with other things. He stalks her on Facebook and sees how much fun she's having with other people; he wonders why not him, and so it was all about if he can't have her, then she can't have anything else.

Stone makes his case one last time, and with the suspect's reaction, he is guilty of all charges, from the fire to even the 38 counts of murder. While we hear about the count of Al's daughter, the last scene shows Al in tears as justice is finally done.

This event was one hell of a #OneChicago crossover. It felt like a feature film. The performances from everyone were terrific. Even Bradley Whitford was great. The writing was so solid. I couldn't find anything wrong with it except that I wish it had limited commercial interruptions; that would have been much better for Fire. But Dick Wolf and the gang know what they are doing, and I leave it up to them to do whatever they want. Overall, I give this TV event a 10/10.

You can catch Chicago Justice tonight at 9/8c on NBC, followed by the premiere of Shades of Blue at 10/9c.

Chicago Fire will return on March 21 at 10/9c, and Chicago will return on March 22 at 10/9c. Chicago Med will be following this week at 9/8c on NBC.

The Blacklist Redemption "Kevin Jensen"

Image result for the blacklist redemption

The team takes on a personal mission that's rescuing a United States journalist.

"Kevin Jensen" opens a personal mission for Scottie that dives into why she wants to get the team into rescuing Jensen. Learning that she's his aunt and that her son Christopher hung out with each other too so it also got personal for Keen too.

The mission seemed to go like any other mission but when Rom brings in a moving truck to the broader of the country, they spot the secret of hidden guns, Tom bails leaving the team with no guns at all.

Scottie gets in touch with a friend over there and after talking him to agree with a deal (agreeing to give his daughter (who can't sing) a record deal). But when Tom and the gang sees the box that was suppose to be full of guns was just a couple of automatics and handguns not enough, but Tom comes up with a plan of getting in as one of the soldiers and rescue Jensen inside.

Keen and Solomon goes in and after getting Jensen, things take a turn and Nez had to come in and rescue them. Hiding from the cops, they wait til they get the word of heading to the US Embassy, but Jensen needs his laptop and notes at his place, something that he's been working on so hard and while the group was talking he escapes to get his stuff.

Putting everyone there at risk, Keen and the gang gets Jensen back and tries to make it to the Embassy but a roadblock is in front of them and hits them. Tom, with a concussion, gets Jensen out, who's hurt pretty badly. As they get Jensen in the Embassy, Tom goes back and gets his laptop but when he comes up to Jensen, laying on the ground as CPR is performed, Jensen is dead. Not only does it hurt Tom but it puts Scottie in an emotional state that we've never seen her before.

Scottie and Tom meet with the Secretary of State and others and is informed that Jensen was working for the CIA as an agent pretending to be a journalist over there. And that Jensen's mother will never know what he has done, Scottie didn't even tell her about it.

I thought that this episode was pretty good. It did show us Scottie's personal and emotional side, for which I enjoyed watching since this lady seemed to be a cold person from the start. There were some good moments and humorist moments too, mostly from Eggold, Gathegi and Martinez. The writing was good as well. Overall I give this episode a 8/10.

You can catch The Blacklist: Redemption Thursday nights at 10/9c on NBC.

Chicago Med "Lose Yourself"

Image result for Chicago Med Season 2

After the previous night of #OneChicago crossover, we get another sad news of one member at Med, but also the doctors and nurses seem to lose themselves in a time where the only thing there is is to step away.

"Lose Yourself" puts our heroes in a tight spot all around with a couple dealing with no help and the other with hope.

Rhodes gets a call of a man fell 33 story building and comes in breathing still and it's a big news cycle too. Rhodes does everything he can to get his patient through all of this and when things look to be in good shape, he goes against Goodwin's wishes to inform the press about it. But speaking too soon ruin the chances no less, after the patient's parents saw Rhodes rescuing him by opening up his chest and help beat his heat again, they asked him to do no more heroic actions. He felt like he could have done more to save him but we know there isn't much there to save.

Reese gets a patient, who comes in as a superhero bring in a stroke patient. The hero faints and talks to Reese about why dresses up, learning his origin story. Trying to get him to think that he doesn't need his costume, she plays a trick on him by having a patient fake an MI in front of his room and gets someone to come and help him. Reese explains to him of her actions for which she tells him that besides the fake MI guy, he came and helped him all on his own and offered him a volunteer job at Med in the waking room.

Choi and Natalie treats a paraplegic that's suffering from an infection. After searching for the cause they spot someone unknown that isn't part of his body, for which he tells them that they're stem cells and he and his wife travels to Mexico to get them put in so he can get movement back in his legs. They inform him of how badly it is to get that kind of treatment without knowing if it's clean or not. But Choi understands and tells Natalie that he has seen many in the army go through this kind of thing.

But the story of this episode has to be April. When things look pretty good for her, but when she came to get her two week OB checkup, things took a turn for the worst as there was no heartbeat in the ultrasound. Losing her baby, she goes through grieving pretty quickly but jumps back to work, losing herself in a case of a 25 year old woman who has a bad infection in the heart. Not telling anyone, including Maggie, she sticks with her patient til things got better. But soon of later you know Maggie will find out and she did and talks to April about it. She gets a DNC and Maggie hangs with her til April's fiance gets there. Damn, it's not a good week for Team Chicago isn't it.

This was a very good episode. The writing was solid and that Yaya DaCosta performance was very good along with Colin Donnell as well. I thought the stories really showed how each character loses themselves in a case of a situation and tries to deal with it in a different way. After the Wednesday crossover, man this hits the heart as well for April. Overall, I give this episode a 8.5/10.

You can catch Chicago Med Thursday nights at 9/8c on NBC.
