Throwback Moments: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt "Kimmy Fights the Fire Monster"/"Kimmy Is In a Love Square!"

"Kimmy Fights the Fire Monster"

Opening up with a 90's throwback style introduction to Titus's sitcom idea, "Magic Boy," we see that Titus has been following around Ilan from the car wash to the grocery store. As Titus makes the first move, they get to know one another. But apparently, Ilan isn't who he says he is, as he's working for Mr. Frumpus and trying to get dirt on Titus so he wouldn't talk about what had happened

Meanwhile, as Kimmy tries to distribute her children's book, she reunites with Donna Marie. But she isn't too pleased to have seen her and tries to get distance with her projects. With their past in the bunker, Kimmy tries to give her a friendship bracelet. Donna didn't want it until they talked and kicked a surprise birthday Elmo with sparklers that reminded them of the bunker. Donna realizes that she's not over and accepts Kimmy's bracelet.

After meeting a young man, Jacqueline hangs out with Lillian at a Bed, Bath and Beyond type store where younger men win over 40 and older women. But she realizes that the man Jacquline sees is her friend's son, and everyone shuts it down.

"Kimmy Fights the Fire Monster" was terrific from the beginning to the end of a return episode. I couldn't pick one storyline in this episode as both match point to one another as funny and robust character development. I couldn't get enough of the "Magic Boy" intro. It made me want to watch a 90's sitcom; the Jacqueline and the girl's montage at the store was hilarious, and Kimmy and Donna's montage in the bunker kicking the fire monster and kicking Elmo was so funny. And even  Jon Bernthal was as hilarious as Ilan. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

"Kimmy is in a Love Square!"

Should he tell, or should he not? Titus learns that of reports against Mr. Frumpus, and it causes not only a #MeToonys movement but denials from news networks like Fox Kids. Lillian tries to get Titus to speak to Roman Farrow after he had called to interview Titus, while Jacqueline tries to tell Titus not to go for it. But after filling in for a commercial for Dairy Queen, Titus decides to speak out. At least he got his story out, but he had no fame when going to the Tonys.

Meanwhile, Kimmy goes out on a date with a co-worker, Josh, but instead of liking him, she wants his parents. It becomes a triangle affair and one that Jacqueline finds weird. It gets to the point where Kimmy and Josh's parents go behind Josh's back to hang out together, from watching late-night TV to playing board games. But Josh catches them, and Kimmy leaves Josh's parents.

"Kimmy is in a Love Square!" was an excellent episode. It had hilarious moments, mainly Kimmy hanging out with Josh's parents. The episode took another stab at the #MeToo movement that had a balance of funny and serious at times: good writing, performance, and character development. Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.

Growing Up Driver's Birthday: Fresh Off The Boat "You've Got a Girlfriend"/"Driver's Eddie 2: Orlando Drift"/"Legends of the Fortieth"

"You've Got a Girlfriend"

When Evan is given a note from a girl with a question if he likes her or not; but when Jessica learns about it, she does what she can do to stop her youngest child from growing up. Jessica tries to bring down Evan by fixing his grade from an A to an A-. But after talking with Louis, Jessica fixed it by setting up Evan with his girlfriend at the pottery shop.

Meanwhile, Eddie, Emery, and Honey decide to see a movie, they get worried about taking Louis with them because he has an act of making a lot of movie references in situations. When they go see "You've Got Mail," Louis didn't like it because it resembles him of what he was doing to the ma and pa shops. But when he tries to fix it, it just turned into a bad situation and soon realizes that he's not like Joe Fox and then starts to make the title of the movie in situations on television

"You've Got a Girlfriend" was a good episode. I very much enjoyed watching the story between Jessica and Evan as a mother is realizing that her youngest is growing up. It was a bit of a shock to see someone hating You've Got Mail as it's one of the best rom-com movies of all time. It played out well. The episode had good character development and writing. Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.

"Driver's Eddie 2: Orlando Drift"

When Eddie gets his driver's license, Jessica makes sure that driving is a privilege and not all for fun and games. With a lot of stuff to do, Jessica gives Eddie the opportunity to prove that he can do all of her daily chores and still have time for fun. Not having a lot of fun, Eddie decides to not follow and go with his friends to the concert but realizes that he's getting responsible and apologizes to Jessica.

Meanwhile, Louis tries to hang out with Marvin by taking him out to the chili con, but Marvin wasn't too excited to go and Honey comes along too. A disappointed Louis learns the real reason why Marvin isn't too thrill eating chili; he's got a health issue with digesting certain foods like beans and seeds. The two makes up and eats chili without beans.

"Driver's Eddie 2: Orlando Drift" was another good episode. It holds up pretty good with its good character development. The Jessica and Eddie and Louis and Marvin story plot were good and not bested one another. Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.

"Legends of the Fortieth"

It's Louis's 40th birthday and all he wants is to have fun and a good time. But the boys don't want to have to do something that Louis was hoping for: camping. Instead, they get him to have a birthday party and that didn't sit well with Jessica as she had to find a gift that means something to Louis.

From going through Louis's party plan book to learning have to dance, the boys stop Louis's excitement. After Jessica learns about what had happened, they did the one thing that will help it all: watch Legends of the Fall. They got the perfect idea for Louis to give him the Legends of the Fall camping trip in the backyard. And boy, wasn't he excited.

:"Legends of the Fortieth" was one of my favorite episodes of the season. The story was so good and the performances from the ensemble cast were strong. I couldn't get enough of Louis's excitement for his birthday with Eddie, Emery, and Evan. And Jessica trying to figure out what to give and trying to find a way was just hilarious. Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10.

You can catch Fresh Off The Boat Fridays at 8/7c on ABC.

"Jeremy Bearimy, baby!" The Good Place "Chapter 39: Pandemonium" Season Finale

Image result for the good place pandemonium

The season finale of The Good Place brought laughter and throwbacks but it was emotional too! Here's a recap!!

With Michael still freaking out with nerves, Eleanor decides to take on his job and welcome the new member of The Good Place. After welcoming him, she takes him around The Good Place and had Janet give him the full tour, while she discusses with Chidi and others about still following the plan expect she will introduce the new people coming in.

But there's just one problem; Sean had chosen two out of the four to be those that will cause Eleanor and the gang trouble. One of them John Wheaton, who happens to knows Tahani and her history. While the other person happens to be Simone!

Michael confronts the Judge and Sean about this and as much as she could change it, decides to let Michael choose the final two residents and allow him to wipe Simone's memory of Chidi and everyone from Soul Squad she knows. But Chidi couldn't let that be and decides that the only solution would be rebooting him (again). As Eleanor and Michael don't want to do that, they know it's for the best and go for it.

But after a few hours of being alone with each other, Michael gives Eleanor and Chidi a movie of their memories together through the many, many reboots in The Good Place. After the Michael reboots Chidi, Eleanor discusses with Janet the meaning of life and relationships. But Janet comforts her with what she has learned from being in love with Jason and all and Eleanor replies that Janet would make a really good girlfriend.

The season finale of The Good Place might not have been as shocking as season one's finale, but it still held on its own. It was strong with it's writing and kind of gave us what to look forward to in Season 4 Not only was I laughing and on the edge of my seat at times because of the moment Sean's trick. There were many moments that were like a recap throughout the three seasons like Jeremy Bearimy and etc. But this episode really showed its emotional moment with Chidi and Eleanor, who I think are the best television couples. And not to mention the moment between Janet and Eleanor was also a memorable one as well. Janet has really come through this season.

I really much enjoyed this season, like the previous season, it had those moments that the Good Place has shown but moments that really had me going oh my god in a way. I would go on the limb and say that this season is worthy of winning some awards with the writing and performances.

I think in Season 4 we'll jump to the moment where Eleanor talks to Chidi and shows him around. Tahani would probably try to become best friends with John. Jason and Janet would try to get their relationship going. But the big question is who's gonna be the next two people coming to The Good Place? Donkey Doug? Pill Boy?

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10 and this season a 9.5/10.

You can catch The Good Place available to watch on NBC.com, NBC app, and On Demand.

Flashback Truth: Brooklyn Nine-Nine "The Tattler"

At their 20th High School reunion, Jake learns the truth about his past nickname while Gina realizes a life-changing moment  Here's a recap!

As Jake and Gina head to their 20th high school reunion, dressing up like they would have back then, But when Jake, Gina, and Amy get there, everyone one brings up the story of Jake being the tattler. After many, many encounters with former classmates, Jake and Amy got to the bottom of things and figured out who was the one that made him the tattler. As Amy got a name, Jake talks him but learns that it really wasn't him. It was Gina.

As Gina tells everyone about what she's been doing with her life from making Marvel movies to developing a new app for baby called Todddddler that's like grinder but for babies for playdates.  But as Jake interferes with her story, Gina confesses to Jake about why she did what she did to make him the tattler. She did it to protect him from what would have become a bad situation because the guy that nickname Jake was in jail.

But later after things were fixed, Gina and Jake had a sit-down and chat. During that chat, Gina thinks of leaving the 99 to pursue her interest and Jake, of being the friend that he is, ordered her to leave the 99.

Meanwhile, Holt gets pulled into Terry, Hitchcock, Scully trying to figure out the sound for a radio contest. With Holt thinking that it's not productive, turns out he got into it when he thinks the sound id from a yogurt cup being opened. But turns out it wasn't it and it was potato chip bag. After that Holt admitted to having a lot of fun and began to listen with Terry and others listening to the next contest sound.

"The Tattler" was a very good episode. I loved the Jake and Gina storyline as it was brilliant but also had that feeling near the end that this was going to be the beginning of the end of Gina. It wasn't too pushy but so organic in developing the character. It also gives me another reason not to go to high school reunions. Also, I couldn't get enough of Holt thinking that what Terry and others were not productive and quickly gets into it. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Brooklyn Nine-Nine Thursdays at 9/8c on NBC.

Freaky Flashback: Brooklyn Nine-Nine "Hitchcock & Scully"

Jake and Charles reopen a case that involved Hitchcock and Scully and gets a surprise of their lives. Here's a recap!

When Holt orders Jake and Charles to look into an old case that Hitchcock and Scully were apart of taking down a drug boss. They talk and even interrogate Hitchcock and Scully about where the fourth briefcase was, but wouldn't tell. But what Jake was so surprised that Hitchcock and Scully were studs in the 80s and wonder what had happened. Not telling, Jake and Charles get a clue that leads to a van, which Hitchcock and Scully locked them in and ran for lunch at Wing Sluts.

Meanwhile, Terry and Amy fight about who has privileges on the second floor. At one point, Amy fools Terry and Rosa as she agrees to their terms but gets someone to put a whole fish in the microwave and blows up. Holt runs out but when the new commissioner comes out of Holt's office he makes aware of what's going on. Holt stops him and asked him why doesn't he just reopen everyone's case files like he asked for Hitchcock and Scully. But the Commissioner didn't order one for them.

As soon as Jake and Charles catches up with Hitchcock and Scully at Wing Sluts, Jake gets a call from Holt that the reopening case was not from the commissioner. But instead, it was from the drug boss that Hitchcock and Scully arrested that got out of prison. Jake and them escape to the back with no protection. Hitchcock and Scully go out and uses the Slut Sauce to protect them, which it did after the drug boss tries to shoot the witness.

In the end, we learn how Hitchcock and Scully got to be what they are now; after saving the witness and let her keep the fourth briefcase of money to open up Wing Sluts. After one bite of the wing slut's wings, they couldn't stop.

I thought that this episode was amazing and hilarious. The episode had such a great development in characters and amazing backstory for Hitchcock and Scully. There were so many great moments from Jake and Charles interrogation of Hitchcock and Scully to Gina helping Holt prepare for his television interview. The writing was strong along with the performance. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Brooklyn Nine-Nine Thursdays at 9/8c on NBC.
