This Is Us "Still There" /"Brothers"

This Is Us just keeps getting better and better.

"Still There"

"Still There" is another amazing episode that shows really good character growth. Randall and Deja connect with what they have, which is anxiety and invites her to what helps him the best to deal with that running. Also standing up for her was a real moment for Deja to see how much Randall cares for her.

Meanwhile, after having knee surgery, Kevin continues on using pain meds, leading up for the character for a spiral. And Kate finds out that she's pregnant. Also we get to see how Rebecca stands up to her mother, calling her a racist and coming to terms on how right Rebecca is about Randall.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

"Brothers"

With the announcement of Kate's pregnancy from Kate and Toby. Kevin drinks and tries to get more refiles of his pain meds. But with his involvement of Sophie's auction, it don't go well and makes a huge mess between them.

But the storyline has to be when Jack takes Kevin and Randall out camping and learning about his father dying at the same time. Jack may not want to say goodbye to him, but Rebecca made the effort to meet along with Kate as well. But later we see Jack looking at a photo of him along with others in the army. But it turns out that in Jack's childhood, we get to learn a shocking news that Jack has a brother, who makes an appearance when Jack awaits their father at a bar drinking.

"Brothers" is another great accomplishment episode that showed emotions, mostly into the fatherhood. It did struck a personal note for me to say the least. Milo's performance was amazing as he has always shown, along with Hartley and Brown's performance as well. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch This Is Us Tuesdays at 9/8c on NBC.

Rock but Solid Start: This Is Us "Deja Vu"

This episode was so beautifully written and performed.

"Deja Vu" is a beautiful episode that dives into two main storylines: one the fact that Kevin tries to put off the memories of his father during the shooting of his film along with Sylvester Stallone. When Kate get star struck with Sly, she mentions their father to him and it gets Kevin, who apparently hasn't grieved over the death of his father. And while filming the action scene when he saves Sly's character, Kevin gets a flashback of the night of his father's death and soon trips and breaks his bad leg.

The second story would be Randell and Beth meets with Deja Vu, who's brought to their home after her mother was arrested for charges. Things get dramatic quickly when Beth picks up Deja's mother's cigarettes and blows up in anger. Soon, Randell has Deja sit down with him and Beth as he tells her the story of how he was adopted into a family and hoping that she would embrace the adventures of a new life with a new family.

This episode was beautifully written with heartwarming moments with emotional turns. The performances from Sterling K. Brown and Justin Hartley were amazing. Even Stallone's performance, I think deserves an Emmy nod for Guest Appearance. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch This Is Us Tuesdays's at 9/8c on NBC.

Life In Pieces "Reading Egg Nurse Neighbor"

From telling about a different version of the chicken and the egg to a mother reading her own "fifty shades" style novel to people, this week's episode of Life In Pieces was a hoot.

"First Story: Reading with Joan"

When Joan leaves John mysterious, he figures out what she's up to and brings the family to her book reading, which happens to be a "Fifty Shades-style novel. With the family all excited, Joan wasn't and started to get stage fright. Finally, John gets everyone to leave, even though he was the one who threatened them to come in the first place. Joan reads her novel, and with the steamy scenes read out loud, the family hears, and after five seconds (with Greg lasting ten seconds), they leave quickly.

"Second Story: The Chicken and the Egg"

After Colleen reads the story about a chicken who ate Lark and Sophia, Sophia gets Matt and Colleen to tell her a story about the Chicken and the Egg that's about the same thing as what they're going through when trying to have a baby. Half of the report shows many animated farm animals in the Shots. After ending with a cliffhanger story, Colleen and Matt decide that after admitting to being scared of IVF, they should go for it.

"Third Story: Tim Hires a Nurse"

As Tim tries to decide on which nurse to hire from a line of resumes, Heather doesn't think some of them are right for the job. Tim doesn't like how she butts in and makes the final decision, but in the end, she does when Tim hires Cindy, a nurse who gets the job done and does magic as well. After apologizing to Heather, Heather tells the whole thing to Cindy, and she quits. So, I guess it's back to the drawing board.

"Four Story: New Neighbor"

When Greg and Jen get a wake-up call from a neighbor's dog, they assume it's the new neighbor. Trying to make a good impression first, they come over with story-bought brownies, and the two get along great and even comment about the dog that happens to be on the other side of them. When Greg and the neighbor go over to confront the dog owner, the new neighbor happens to give her his two cents and threaten her to shut the dog up, or it dies. Not only does that scare the dog owner, but Greg, too, tells Jen about it. The next day, Greg goes over to the dog owner's house and tries to apologize about the whole thing but doesn't accept the flowers and later sees the new neighbor watering the garden.

"Reading Egg Nurse Neighbor" is a good episode that had some excellent, memorable moments, from Joan reading her novel to Tim thinking that he had hired the nurse he wanted. The one story was The Chicken and the Egg, which had a good message about life and making the tough decision of IVF. It also showed excellent character growth between Matt and Colleen. And the animated story was perfect. Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.

You can catch Life in Pieces on Thursdays at 9:30/8:30 on CBS.

Leap into Faith: The Good Place "Chapter 22: Leap to Faith"

Just when you thought that things could go wrong, it goes so so right.

Picking up from the cliffhanger from the previous episode, Shawn meets with Michael. Just when things start to intense, you would think that it's probably that Shawn figured out what Michael was doing, but turns out that he still thinks that phase two is a success. And gives Michael a promotion for his success.

Soon, Michael summons Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani and Jason and tells them (once again) that they're in he bad place in front of Shawn and a metal handcuffed Janet, who's drunk from the metal. Eleanor and the gang are pretty confused thinking that Michael went behind their backs but Eleanor thinks that Michael is still on their side.

With the town celebrating, Michael gives Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani and Jason a big celebrity roast, making fun of them one person at a time, and then throwing the biggest trash party in town, because it was going to be no more after. Soon, Vicky, who's been trying to get Michael to tell Shawn that she gets credit for the success, sees Michael talking into Janet's ear and tries to get Janet to tell her what he told her, not to mention trying to take the cuffs off her.

As soon as morning rise and the last song was to be played, Michael and Shawn sees that the gang is leaving on the train to the middle place. Upset about it, Shawn gets everyone on the train, that includes a troubled cocooned Vicky, who admitted that she tries to take the cuffs off Janet. When Michael gets Bad Janet to scan the place for the mortals, no one was found and soon the trains leaves.

As the train leaves, Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani, Jason and Janet were all underneath the train. Eleanor looks at Michael and gives one of the shocking most heartwarming moments of the episode as he was really with them. After a hug-fest, Eleanor explained how they, mostly her, figured out the clues that Michael left for them from mentioning Kierkegaard to Derek Borties, who's actual name is Blake Borites of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Jason's favorite QB, as signs for them to do like get Derek to drive the train to Mindy St. Clair making Shawn and them feel that they left.

This is the genius of what The Good Place is all about with great creative writing and strong characters that really enjoying but also gives you those twist and turns of is this happening. "Leap To Faith" might be the best episode so far this season, as this season has been a home run. Ted Danson, once again, shines in this episode playing Michael that you really don't know if he actually turns on Eleanor and the gang or not until the very end. I very much enjoyed this episode a lot. Overall, I give this episode a 10/10.

You can catch The Good Place Thursdays at 8:30/7:30c on NBC.
