Blindspot Season 3 Recap
Season Three of Blindspot had raised the bar! Here's a recap!
From the season two finale, we jump into flashbacks of Jane and Weller's wedding; We see in the present of Weller looking for Jane. The FBI ask for Weller's help and as he rejoins the FBI to fine Jane. Weller learns that Reade is in charge. And Zapata, who's working for the CIA,; who comes to help.
As Weller fines Jane and take on bounty hunters; in the classic taken down fashion like they do. Then new tattoos appeared on Jane's body. Roman wants them to solve them. It becomes a real cat and mouse brother-sister style with the tattoos that leads to many, many shocking twist and turns with two of the main ones: 1. Looking for Crawford and 2. Jane has/has a daughter.
Let's start with Crawford as he's one of the powerful businessman in the world. Roman does his thing by portraying someone in his security and gets in a love interest with Crawford's daughter, Blake. There was a much bigger reason why Roman wants Jane and Weller to take down Crawford. As Roman gains Crawford's trust and tries to get Jane, Weller and the FBI to take him down.
What Weller and the team didn't know was that their FBI Director Hirst is working for Crawford on the inside to stop the investigation. She tries to get Reade to drop some of the cases and even threaten him to do task.
The second thing was that Jane has a daughter. Roman isn't the only one who knows about Jane's daughter. Weller knows too. He confronts Jane about his encounter with her. And when they were checking out suspicious activity, she got caught in crossfire from Weller's gun. Jane didn't take that too well and walked away from him.
Soon, they found Jane's daughter, Avery. And after they rescued her; it wasn't the warmest reunion to see. But the two grew closer and even adding Weller to the mix things were all good. They even tried to work together going against Crawford.
As the team goes after Crawford and Jane kills him. Jane hunts down Roman, who dies as she gets there just in time to say goodbye. Soon,, Jane, who's been suffering from the side-effects from the memory drug, is hospitalized but when she wakes up, she's not the Jane we all knew as Remi is back.
Season 3 of Blindspot was literally one of the best seasons so far. The character development was so strong and even the writing so as amazing the previous season. There were so many moments, Reade and Zapata opening up their feelings for one another, Patterson and Dot Com working together, even Patterson's Groundhog Day episode "Everlasting." David Morse was the perfect choice to play Crawford, as he can play a guy with such a dark side. Overall, I give the season a 8.9/10.
I literally can't wait for the new season to start tonight. Remi is back and now I'm guessing we're gonna see the real her now.
You can catch the season premiere of Blindspot tonight at 8/7c on NBC

Life Decisions: This Is Us "Katie Girls"
Life decisions are made in this episode of This Is Us.
"Katie Girls" is an excellent episode where it dives into life changing decisions and facing the fears of those decisions. From diving back to Rebecca's past of meeting Alan, the man who came to her door in the last episode. But after thinking that she has a future with Alan, she spots Jack at the store and later visits him at his mother's friend's house and does the dishes together.
Kate, who's having IVF procedure, worries about what would happen if she doesn't come out of it. But when she's under, she meets not only her teenage self, but her preteen self and her dad. After debating, Kate fights back and comes out of her anesthesia. And she gets the best news that they found eight eggs. So the chances of having a baby are really good. But not hoping for Octomom, Toby!
Kevin's movie is a hit and made everyone including Randall cry. During an interview with Terry Gross, he gets asked about Jack and his experience in Vietnam. It starts Kevin to hunt for answers and found photos and a name that he calls Mr. Thompson.
After a week goes by from Randall argued with Kate about passing on a piece of dad to talking to the city councilman Brown about the recreational center. Randall tries to apologies to Kate and flies over there to be with her and Toby. After Kate's surgery, Randall gets word about Sky getting attacked by the recreational center. As he came back home, he thinks he's going to run against Brown. But Beth gives him more news that she got fired from her job.
This was another excellent episode that had many emotional moments whether it's Kate worrying about the surgery to her talking to her past lives and her dad. Rebecca and Jack had some solid moments; mainly when they are together at the store and talking about their dreams. Kevin and his flashbacks to when Jack yelled at him when he was throwing a toy grenade at a toy store and Jack apologies to him about it. The performances from the cast in this episode was amazing that each and everyone one of them played a equal amount of making this episode special. Even the writing as well was outstanding.
Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.
You can catch This Is Us Tuesdays at 9/8c on NBC.

New Amsterdam: A Healthcare worth the Change
If you haven't seen the new medical drama, New Amsterdam, why haven't you?
The Ryan Eggold-lead drama has airs Tuesdays 10/9c on NBC. It really has caught on with me. In a way it's like if you take This Is Us and ER, you get New Amsterdam.
The show follows the new medical director, Dr. Max Goodwin , taking on the healthcare system and flip it upside down. He wants the physicians, nurses and everyone to be there for the sick, no matter if they have insurance or not. But Goodwin has a secret that could be life or death.
There are characters like Dr. Laura Bloom (played by Janet Montgomery), as an ER attending, who's also determine to treat patients the best way possible. There are other classy characters from Dr. Helen Sharpe (played by Freema Aygeman), who's part PR and part doctor but is learning what it means to be a doctor. And one of my favorites, Dr. Iggy Frome (played by Tyler Labine) who's a psychiatrist attending at the hospital.
New Amsterdam brings that classic medical drama but breaths new life with such rich and well developed stories and characters. Unlike with ER , we see characters/patients from the beginning to the end, whether it's a happy ending or not. Ryan Eggold is amazing and brings something special in this show, something inspiring. If you haven't seen this show, it's a must see on your to do list Tuesday nights.
And good news for today, the show got picked up for a full season.
You can catch New Amsterdam Tuesdays at 10/9c on NBC.
Tensions and Worries: Black Lightning "The Book of Consequences: Chapter One: Rise of the Green Light Babies"
The season premiere of Black Lightning is finally here; and tensions in the family couldn't be any higher. Here's a recap!
After the events of the season finale, we pick things off just a few days. Tensions grow between the police, government and the community of Freeland are at a tipping point. With the government holding the kids in the pods and won't give them back to their parents. Even dealing with police brutality when it comes to stopping kids when using green light.
Jefferson is dealing with the aftermath of the school board deciding on whether to close down the school or not. If he was gambling with them, it didn't do any good as the board decided to shut down the school for good. So he resigns. It's not the only thing that he has to deal with as he gets confronted by Henderson on who Black Lightning really is.
Lynn gets kicked out of studying the pods; but Gambi gets her back in the ASA system to work on the pods.
Meanwhile, Jennifer's powers are exceeding with her as Anissa shows her a photo of her flouting in the air with bits of energy flying around. Both Lynn and Jefferson both have different opinions on how to help her that it kind of puts tension between them. That's until Jennifer's emotions gets the best of her and her powers is over seen. Jefferson tries to help by given her a hug and absorbed that energy.
Anissa helps with the community. She takes down drug dealers and their money and handed off to the church community, even taken some for herself.
But it doesn't stop there, Fowdy escapes an defeats Syonide in the parking garage and comes to Gambi for help. She tells Gambi that she can get the brief case that Tobais has. But it doesn't go totally to plan as Tobias shoots her with his harpoon and drags her to him. She escapes and just when you think she's gonna take him down, she misses and jumps out the window. Did she live? Is she dead?
This episode was an amazing season opener. We only got a little bit of what's inside that suitcase: "hell." Can't wait to see how this builds up this season. The writing was strong along with the performances from Williams, China Anne McClain and even Nafessa Williams, who has one of the best fight scenes in the episode that was so well choreography and amazingly shot. I don't think that Fowdy is dead. I just don't think you can't kill off an ASA agent like that ,she's too good.
Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.
You can catch Black Lightning Tuesdays at 9/8c on The CW.

Super Charge of a Good Time: Black Lightning Season One Recap
From redemption to family affair, Black Lightning Season One was brilliant and literally electrifying!
In the first season, it's been 10 years since Black Lightning shown up. Jefferson Pierce, a high school principal, sees and deals with madness of the political climate of police brutally and more. But when his daughters get in trouble, Pierce brings out Black Lightning and saves them and soon it gets the community buzzing.
With the buzz, it gets Tobias Whale upset; thought that he had killed him years ago. He has a connection with Pierce as Tobias was the one that killed his father, Alvin. Pierce tries to catch Tobias; and gets caught in another storm with the ASA; who's been doing experimental testing on kids with a drug green light that apparently would give them meta humans.
But Pierce isn't the only one with super powers; he'll learn that both his daughters Anissa and Jennifer. Anissa has super strength and calls herself Thunder while Jennifer has electric powers which shows orange.
Pierce learns the truth from Gambi, his mentor, father figure friend, that he was the he was part of the ASA. Plus he gave Pierce's father information to spell out the ASA's plans. It didn't go well with him and breaks their friendship for a while.
But after Anissa being the bridge between them and helping to stop the abduction of kids; it started to become a family affair with everyone fighting off the ASA and defeating Agent Proctor. But the war isn't quite over as Tobias has the briefcase that Procter left as it put a smile on his face.
The first season of Black Lightning really blew my mind right from the start. It had that classic 70's-80's series vibe with soul music that really made the show a standout. The cast puts out an amazing performance from Cress Williams as Jefferson Pierce aka Black Lightning to China Anne McClain, Christine Adams and not to mention Marvin "Krondon" Jones III as Tobias and Jill Scott as Lady Eve.
The show had a strong development of characters and even at times had me amazed with some of the twist and turns of the storylines and well directed. There were scenes in episodes that had me go wow.
Overall, I give this show a 9/10.
You can catch the season two premiere of Black Lightning tonight at 9/8c on The CW.
