This week's episode of Chicago Med was once against very good as they pushed these characters to new limits. 

Tomb Radar Anime Series Coming to Netflix

 

Looks like Lara Croft is taking her adventures to Netflix. 

TVLine and The Hollywood Reporter have reported on Wednesday that Netflix adding more of its anime series with Tomb Radar. 

The streaming service giant will be picking up after the events of the highly successful video game reboot trilogy, the Tomb Radar that was released from 2013-2018. Tasha Huo, of the upcoming Netflix's The Witcher: Blood Origin prequel series, is set to write and executive producer the series.

Grey's Anatomy vet Camilla Luddington was the voice of Lara in all three of those rebooted trilogy. There's no voice casting has been announced yet.

Not to mention, Netflix's partnership with Legendary will create Skull Island, an anime series based on the 2017 movie Kong: Skull Island.

I'm so freakin excited for this news. I'm a big Tomb Radar fan (yet I've only played one game that happened to be a demo for the PS1). But I've watched my brother play the reboot series from the Xbox. 

I hope that Camilla Luddington would still be the voice for Lara in this series, it would make sense if it's a continuation from the video games. 

Also, I'm a fan of Kong Skull Island, and while I have mixed emotions about Kong vs Godzilla. I'm looking forward to seeing what they'll do with the series.

The Moment: Chicago PD "Tender Age"

 

Talk about stealing the moment at the right time. 

"Tender Age" was such an intense and dramatic episode that pretty much succeeded my expectations from the previews. I couldn't get enough from this episode, which I thought had seemed to be another great Burgess episode until that final scene. 

Burgess and the intelligence unit picks up a homicide case that leaves a little girl the only witness that might have seen what had happened. As the case unfolds, they linked the connection to the little girl's father, who all he wanted was to be with his daughter. Burgess bonds and protects with the child, probably given her a second thought about having children. 

But let's talk about the big elephant in the room from this episode, just when I thought that Burgess won this episode, there was a curveball that came when Upton and Halstead finally talked about her contract with the FBI. Upton asked Halstead where or not she should go and of course, he only wants what's best for her. Well, that ended with Upton telling her feelings for Halstead and the two kiss. Looks like she's not going to the New York FBI taskforce (sorry CBS!). 

I loved this episode so much. Burgess was a force of nature doing anything to protect that child and to take down the suspect. Plus it gave us some really good Burzek moments as well, mostly the boat discussion which I found hilarious. Just when I thought that this was another Burgess winning episode, which serves right to be. I didn't see the Upton and Halstead relationship take effect just like that at the end.  

I released a poll question on my Twitter page a couple of days after the episode aired to ask the question: who had the best first kiss during this season of #OneChicago Brettsey or Upstead. The results came in with 56.7 percent choosing Upstead with 43.3 percent picking Brettsey. 

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

Much Needed Space: Chicago Fire "Smash Therapy"

Nothing like smashing stuff to get the anger out, right? 

"Smash Therapy" was such a fantastic episode from start to finish that leads with some heartwarming moments and moments to question for the season to come. 

There should make a list of the best duo in the Chicago franchise because Herrmann and Mouch should be somewhere in the top 10, maybe top five after this episode. After having technical issues with truck 81's ladder system that almost sent Casey to near death, Mouch's performance becomes into question whether he's not fit or not. Herrmann digs for answers that give not only Mouch a satisfying answer but gets Casey to apologize to Mouch. 

Boden's new assistant, Kylie, begins her first day, and Boden tries to make things as simple for her as possible. It doesn't go well when she offers him a stand-in desk for him to use. It was such a fun storyline, but the moving moment comes when she confronts Boden about the desk and helps get rid of it. 
 

As Severide helps a fire victim retrieve his classic car that didn't get damaged in a fire. After taking the OFI case, he hears from some officers that he's pumping his girlfriend for the captain's test. He brings that into question and tries to avoid Kidd from helping her, thinking that it might be best for her to learn from someone instead of her boyfriend. I see where he's going, but...

And the elephant in the room, Brett and Casey, after that kiss, Casey talks to her that his feelings for her are real, but she can't expect it because of Gabby. So she tells him that they need some space from each other to blow over their feelings. Brett gets to take her frustration out on a drone that took a nose off from a victim and smashed it. While Brett and Casey will give other space, it will not be accessible after the scene at Molly's. 

I loved this episode so much. It had many great things from Mouch-Herrmann's story that's pretty much one of my favorite of the season so far with these two. It was almost tissue time when Herrmann gave Casey the evidence that the truck incident wasn't Mouch's fault. 

I think we're going to get some excellent Kylie and Boden story scenes this season. Maybe this is premature to think about, but this could be a new Ms. Connie and Boden relationship. 

I know Severide does what he thinks is best, but he should really rethink what he's doing.  I thought he and Kidd talked about keeping secrets from each other. I'm sure Kidd would understand what he thought was best for her to learn independently, but keeping it from her might hurt their relationship once again. 

And, of course, the Brett and Casey story, no matter what, is the season's storyline. Whether we want it to happen or not (and I really would love to have them together), I can't wait to see where this is going. While Casey is given Brett space, I think he should understand a bit more where she's coming from on Gabby. I still don't think he's getting it. 

Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10.

Reunited: Chicago Med "Do You Know the Way Home?"

 

Well, that had happened!

"Do You Know the Way Home?" was another fantastic episode with many excellent stories that some of them couldn't get out of my mind after watching and rewatching. 

From Ethan and April's tension after he ordered her to work from the COIVD wing to the ED because they needed the staff that leads to her and Dr. Charles taking care of a patient that could have been abducted years ago. The outcome of the story was so memorable with April and Dr. Charles getting Ethan to help but seeing the patient and her biological mother reunited that just gets you to grab the tissues. 

Another tissue story in this episode comes to Will and a patient that seemed to be quantified for his new heart treatment drug but the patient's daughter and his caretaker didn't want it and ordered that Will stop treating him. But just as her father was about to have a severe risk surgery, his heart starts to act up and Will steps up and saves him doing a slow and intense procedure. 

As Natalie is on FactTime duty with patients, who call about their health problems, one has shown some serious concerns and that she must become to the ED but wouldn't. After calling back a few more times with even more serious conditions the truth comes that all she wanted was to talk to someone as her son hasn't visited or called her in years. That was another tissue moment. 

Crockett receives a patient who happens to be his ex and tries to fulfill her wishes or no surgery but she would later need it. As they reminisce about the old days, Natalie sees that he was a bit sad; even after he sees his ex's fiance. Natalie talks to Crockett on the roof and tries to show not only friendship but maybe a romance with a kiss on his back/his shoulder. 

Overall, I enjoyed this episode very much. I don't know about you but I'm getting tired of Ethan going back and forth from being strict to breaking the rules here and there. He's been on the show for six years and still doesn't trust his colleague's judgments? 

While I thought Will pushed the drug trial on the elder patient and deserve the reaction from the patient's daughter. After the trial drug might have clouded his judgment to taking care of a patient, he gained much respect. 

I don't know what to think of the Natalie and Crockett relationship. I think the kiss might have been too much even if it was on his back. I think maybe a hug would have been a better outcome to show friendship. But I do see how Natalie wants to help him move on from his pain. Well, see where that goes. 

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10,

The Blacklist Renewed For Season 9

 

Rest at easy Blocklist fans, as Raymond Reddington isn't done yet.

On Tuesday, NBC has announced that they've renewed The Blacklist for a ninth season. 

The number ratings for the first three episodes have averaged 3.5 million and a 0.4 demo rating, which was down 19 and 28 percent from its seventh season average. But NBC reports that the first two episodes combined a 1.2 demo rating with the DVR payback and such factors. 

Last week's winter premiere saw Liz attempting to kill Reddington for killing her mother. But Liz's plan didn't go so well, but her relationship with the FBI task force became damaged. This week's episode will have Liz on the top of the Blacklist while Red's health has taken a serious turn.

"Liz and Red are going to wat," executive producer John Eisendrath told TVLive after Liz's mother's murder. "The death of Katarina makes Liz more resolute than ever about getting answers to questions she's been asking for seven years. She's willing to burn every bridge and cross every line in search of the truth. Her solution, plus all she's learned from Red over the years about thinking like a criminal, makes her one of Red's most formidable adversaries." 

Oh man, I'm celebrating tonight with red wine with this news. After seeing the single-day ratings for the last three episodes, I was worried, but I know that The Blacklist fans love this show and the DVR and downloads and streaming help the show stay alive. 

I have loved this season so much. The first two episodes could have been a two-hour movie to set up season eight and last week's episode had me moving around as it was so intense.

ABC Midseason Schedule: Greys-Station19 Returns; A Million Little Things Moves

 

ABC will be making some midseason moves. 

On Monday, ABC announced their midseason news from Krista Vernoff's new series Rebel taking over A Million Little Things out of its Thursday timeslot beginning April 8th. A Million Little Things will be moving to Wednesdays at 10pm beginning April 7. 

The sibling themed sitcom Hone Economics starring Topher Grace will premiere Wednesdays at 8:30pm on April 7th, while the eight-episode Rebel Wilson hosted dog competition series Pooch Perfect will take over Tuesdays at 8pm beginning March 30th.

As for Grey's-Station 19 fans, they're set to return from winter hiatus on Thursday, March 11th.

Why This Is Us To Air Repeat Tonight

If you were wondering why there won't be a new episode tonight of This Is Us is due to COVID-19 related production delays. 

The creator, Dan Fogleman, tweeted out Tuesday morning, " No new episode of This Is Us tonight. But the next few are big ones, and we are close, so we hope you'll hang in there with us. Sorry!"

There's been a massive surge of coronavirus cases in the Los Angeles county; This Is Us is one of many Los Angeles-based shows whose return from a holiday hiatus was delayed. For This Is Us, the delay is to believe to be about a week and a haf. Production has resumed this week. 

So expect tonight and next week (Tuesday, Jan. 26th) to be repeated with fresh episodes slated to begin airing on Tuesday, Feb. 2nd. 

While we were left with a surprising cliffhanger promo, I'm okay with a couple of repeats as this should get me prepared mentally to see where the show will go from Kevin's car crash. Whatever it takes to for the show to keep the cast and crew safe is fine with me.

The Crew, A New Netflix Comedy

 

On Friday, Netflix has released the first trailer for the new original comedy series, The Crew. 

Starring Kevin James (The King of Queens and Kevin Can Wait), as the crew chief to a NASCAR team that isn't quite the champion that you would expect. Soon, Kevin's character and his team learn that their owner is stepping down and gives his daughter ownership, who thinks to make some changes to get the team winning. So James has to protect his team from her attempts to change the team.

From the trailer, it's your typical Kevin James sitcom that I'm sure it'll bring in the laughs.  I'm a fan of James from The King of Queens, Paul Blart Mall Cop, and the first season of Kevin Can Wait. So I do look forward to checking out The Crew.

Since the fall finale, I've dying to see where this will go after Red killed Liz's mother. That final scene to that episode still gives me chills. Will Liz be successful? How will Red play this one out?

Wings star Coming to Chicago Med

 

Looks like Steven Weber will be scrubbing in at Chicago Med.

TVLine has learned on Wednesday that Steven Weber will be in a recurring role in the NBC hit medical drama's sixth season.

Weber, whose most recent roles were in Netflix's 13 Reasons Why and NBC's Indebted, will play Dr. Dean Archer, a wry, blunt, and talented physician who makes the move from a rural hospital to Gaffney Chicago Medical Center's Emergency Department, where he already knows one of the docs. 

As a former Naval officer, Dr. Archer oversaw Dr.Ethan Choi during active duty. But with Ethan as the newly instated chief of the ED, Dr. Archer finds himself struggling to be second in command. 

Weber is slated to make his debut in early March.

In a recent interview with TVLine, showrunners Andrew Schneider and Diane Frolov said that Ethan will have his own struggling as the ED's chief. "(There's) a lot of strife and adapting to" his new position. "It's not only the pressure that he puts on the staff, but the pressure he puts on himself to perform. There are consequences."

Weber has a long-acting credit, mostly known for his leading role in the 1990's NBC sitcom, Wings. And not to mention, Get Shorty, Ballers, NCIS: New Orleans, Mom, iZombie, Chasing Life, Brothers and Sisters, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and Once and Again. 

I'm so looking forward to seeing Steven Weber and what he will bring to the show. It looks like adding Weber's character will give Ethan a much challenging role as the chief in the ED.I can't wait!

My Thoughts:

Holy smokes! Just from reading the episode's synopsis and the promos, all three episodes sound really good. Fire is probably the one that I'm most looking forward to with Herrmann and Cruz being trapped. I just if they would do like one hour of them in an elevator while the team tries to rescue them. This looks like a new episode that the series hasn't done before, one rescue in the hour of an episode. 

PD has me interested in Burgess' story with what could possibly change her life forever from a previous case? From the title and understanding of the previous two episodes from just the synopsis, could she be fostering a child? And should we be worried about Hailey after not seeing her dad? 

Med looks good, I'm looking for something good for Will Halstead to have in his life after nothing but pain the last few episodes with Hannah and not being Chief of the ED. I just wonder if they're running out of stories for Noah to have. While I've enjoyed him and rooting for him, the last storyline wasn't my favorite of his. Also, I'm a bit shocked how Natalie and Crockett took things in their relationship so fast.
