Unsane: An Underdog Movie of 2018

Image result for Unsane

If there was one movie in 2018 that stood out from the rest with all the superhero movies, it has to be Unsane. Let me just say that Unsane was insane.

The film is about Sawyer Valentini (played by Claire Foy), who's had a troubled history of moving away from her stalker and decides to get help and talk with a counselor. But after her appointment, she unknowingly signed papers for her to be committed to 24 24-hour stay at Highland Creek Behavioral Center.  She tries to get out, even calling the cops and her mother, but they can't do anything.

She develops a friendship with Nate Hoffman (played by Jay Pharoah), a patient at Highland; that doesn't start too well but ends up maybe being more than just friends. But when Sawyer sees her stalker, David Strine (played by Joshua Leonard), posing as one of the orderlies, she has an outburst, repeating whether she's insane.

But she plays to David's game after he killed Nate and even Sawyer's mother. Sawyer breaks David down to the point where he follows her orders because he cares for her so much that he would do anything for her to rape a patient in front of her.  But as he performs, Sawyer attacks escapeescapets caught again by David and drives her to his place through the woods. But she escapes again, and he goes after her again, but as she gets caught again, she stabs David in the neck and kills him.

After Sawyer is back at work, he seems to be okay, but when she thinks, she spots David again a few feet away from where Sawyer is eating. She soon walks up there with a knife until she sees it isn't him. She runs out and drives off.

"Unsane" is a fantastic work that asks if the lead character is insane or not. It starts slowly and builds up to an intense and dramatic high. Claire Foy gives another fantastic performance as Sawyer, and her chemistry with Pharoah is excellent. It feels like a documentary, and one of the astonishing facts about this movie is that it was shot from an iPhone 7. It has the Cookoo's Nest feel to it. Steven Soderbergh, who directed the film, gives another masterpiece once again.  If you haven't seen "Unsane," find the time to see it.

Overall, I give it a 9/10.

You can find "Unsane" on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital.

Plus I can't wait to see what's gonna happen on The Good Place as the season comes to an end. FBI has been a huge improvement since the pilot and I hope CBS will give it a shot for a second season. As much as I enjoyed the return of Roseanne this year, I'm loving The Conners even better.

Here's to a new year!

Christmas With The Huangs!: Fresh Off the Boat "Cousin Eddie" fall finale

Image result for fresh off the boat "Cousin Eddie" 2018

It's one of the best Christmas episodes of Fresh Off the Boat that I could remember, even the one from last season. Here's a recap!

As Christmas is near Jessica and Louis begins their traditional family Christmas routine, but Eddie wants to go visit Nicole in New York City. But Jessica won't allow it and makes Eddie do what they normally do from decorating the Christmas tree to a family photo to even going to the Nutcracker, but it turns into a battle of mom vs son.

Eddie tries to ruin and get out of the tradition from volunteering at the shelter and brings a friend over too, but Jessica wouldn't give in playing along to Eddie's game. But when Jessica realized that her angel on the top of the tree is broken, she lost it and canceled Christmas.

Jessica talks to Eddie and tells him that the reason why she does these traditions is that it worked so well with him as a baby. And after that, it was like they grew closer this holiday season and not only fixed Jessica's angel but performed the classic holiday tune "Christmas In Hollis" by Run-DMC, which was classic!!

Meanwhile, with Marvin and Honey went to visit Nicole in New York City, Louis allowed the kids to bring a friend over to their house for Christmas. As it was easy for Emery, it was hard for Evan to figure out who he can bring over because he has so many people that he calls his friend. Even Louis couldn't help and learned that Evan got his decision making from him. But it was a Christmas miracle from It's a Wonderful Life as Emery got all of his friends to come over. That was till Evan decides to send them home because Emery was his best friend.

"Cousin Eddie" was not only hilarious but it hit the holiday family spirit on the head. The title of the episode never made sense, but it was by far the best Christmas episode that I could remember. I just love the mother-son battle between Jessica and Eddie and learning the reason why Jessica does these traditions just makes you grab some tissues.  It was a strong episode with great character development, writing, and performances from the cast. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Fresh Off the Boat when they return with new episodes on Friday, January 11 at 8/7c on ABC.

The Blacklist Season 6 First Five Minute Clip Premiere

Twas five days til Christmas and the one thing we get is a sneak peek from the season premiere of the two-night premiere of The Blacklist.

Here are the first five minutes of the premiere:

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 4, Part 2 Premiere Date + Clip

Image result for unbreakable kimmy schmidt season 4

In the final season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Titus is Living Single and loving it.

The Netflix comedy will begins its three-year run on January 25. But to help tide us over till that day comes the streaming service has released a clip from the midseason premiere and it's pure hilarious and pure magic (boy).

Like as Kimmy gave us Little Girl, Big City earlier this season, Titus' inner sitcom titled "Magic Boy" is naturally a sense of what the world looks like from his perspective. And I'm sure that we all want to go there.

The final six episodes of the beloved series, Kimmy is as resilient as ever but realizes that being an adult is about more than just putting the past behind her. It's finally time for her to choose between helping her friends. Titus, Jacqueline and Lilian, and helping someone she's never put first before: herself. The season also includes a double-sized "Sliding Doors" episode that explores how the main characters lives might have been different if Kimmy had never been kidnapped.

Here's the clip:

You can catch Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt with all three and a half seasons on Netflix now.

Prepare for What's Coming: Supergirl Elseworlds, Part 3

Image result for supergirl elseworlds

After two nights of full of excitement, drama and super amazing moments; Part 3 of Elseworld ends with Supergirl that not deals with some life changes but something more is coming. Here's a recap!

Continuing from where we left off in Arrow as Barry and Oliver learn that Deegan changed reality once again and has become the black-suited Superman. Oliver gets a chance to escape from him by calling his bluff to have him save the citizens. They come up with a plan to find Cisco but got sidetracked when they meet with The Mointer and learned that all of this is a test to see who's strong and willing.

As Barry and Oliver find Cisco and convinced him to help him us his power to get them into Earth 38, to get Clark and Lois' help. Kara is trapped by Deegan and uses not only Oliver and Barry's friends to help him but Alex as well. Kara talks to Alex and convinces her that she's not this kind of person and describes her sister and what she means to her. Alex helps Kara get free and meets up with Deegan but Barry, Oliver, and Clark make it back in time.

Clark and Deegan fight, while Kara, Barry, and Alex located the book and gives it to Clark to help refix reality. Barry gets his powers back, Oliver returns to normal, but Deegan gets the book back and the team devices a plan. Barry and Kara use their speed to slow down time, while Olver meets with The Monitor and asked to help change history as both Barry and Kara are the sign of hope for the world.

Just as Barry and Kara are about to burst into flame, time slows down and Oliver takes his shot at Deegan and stops him. And both Barry and Kara are still alive after going mack 7 speed. After things changed back, Deegan's face is deformed and sent to Arkham in Gotham. Kara and Clark have a nice moment and learns that he and Lois are moving back to start a family. But a call from Kate Kane to Oliver gets worried about a friend that Deegan is making in Arkham and that friend is Psycho-Pirate. And a short teaser to what comes next fall "Crisis on Infinite Earths."

"Elseworlds Part 3" was a fantastic episode ending but a nice cliffhanger to what comes next year. This episode really gave a strong character development, mainly between Oliver and Barry as those two grew closer as friends and Oliver grew more as a person that shouldn't wait but have hope and go with it. Maybe he and Felicity will finally get back together. But let me just say this that this crossover was like the perfect freaky Fridays meet bosom buddies moments for Barry and Oliver that I enjoyed too much. Another thing, I WANT TO SEE BATWOMAN AS A SERIES!!! Ruby Rose killed it and gave us just enough to see her character and Gotham that this would work. Please make it work CW! MAKE IT WORK!!!

I thought there were some good moments for Kara too. When she convinces Alex the help her and describe how her Alex stands up to what she believes that gets her to be her own person. Also, the moment with Clark at the end was a good enough moment to know that it was like passing the mantle down of saving the world. Yeah, I may not like how it was done after seeing Clark get his butt kicked many times in this crossover but it was effective enough that I enjoyed it. And not to mention with what's coming next year that maybe that other Kara could be used in that situation. I don't know. I'm just guessing.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10. I give the crossover event a 9/10.

You can catch Supergirl when it returns in January.

Moving Up: Superstore "Managers' Conference"/"Shadowing Glenn" Fall Finale

Image result for superstore managers conference

"Managers' Conference"

When Glenn gives up two tickets to a Cloud 9 managing conference, Amy and Jonah take it after learning it's an all-paid trip with the works. As they get there, it is his to get in, but Jeff gets them in by sneaking them in with other IDs. As they try to leave, Amy learns that the managers get free stuff and take advantage of it.

Jonah tells Amy that she should go for a manager position, and after meeting a couple of managers who don't think their workers should get high wages. After that, ma, maybe she should go for a managing position.

Garrett and Dina fight over who can wrap gifts for their customers best. As soon as they had the perfect wrapping on a blessing, they were done.

Glenn asked Mateo for his social security number,r as it showed in the records that it belonged to someone else. This worried Mateo that this could be the last we see him. But when Glenn asked again, Mateo gave him another set of numbers, and when Glenn checked it out, it was right.

"Managers' Conference" was a hilarious episode that felt like a fall finale. This episode should have ended up being the fall finale with the Christmas moment of Glenn helping Mateo. From Garrett and Dina to Mateo and Cheyenne, I couldn't get enough of watching these rich and well-developed characters play to each other. Good writing and performance make the frecareeres as good as they would be in an episode of Superstore. Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.

Image result for superstore shadowing glenn

"Shadowing Glenn" Fall Finale

In the fall finale, Amy decides to go for managing training and asks Glenn for approval. But he decides to train her in the comedy version of Karate Kid. He teaches her what he knows, but Amy doesn't think she needs to know all this since she thinks she knows what to do.

That was until Amy made a mistake with one of the orders and tried to get the shippers to ship them back. But Glenn comes and saves the day and gets the other orders returned.

Cheyenne and Mateo decide to go into the business together and come up with a funny name, Cheateo. It may or may not work. But I would think it would be fun.

Meanwhile, Dina is looking for a new career and gets Jonah to help after he was the one who called out while Amy watched Glenn's managing video. After turning down almost every job, there might be one that she would be good at.

"Shadowing Glenn" was a well-written, well-performed episode. The cast puts on a tremendous performance. Amy and Glenn's storyline gives that Karate Kid at work feel to it. Lauren Ash's performance was terrific, And even Cheyenne and Mateo's storyline could beat its best this season with them working together to run their own business. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Superstore when they return in March next year and catch up with episodes on NBC.com and the NBC app.

"Where Hava All the Cattleman Gone?" was a good episode. Angela Kinsey brought a little bit of her "Office" character to the show, which was hilarious. Kinsey and Constance Wu play well off each other in this episode. Also, I couldn't get the song "Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?" out of my head after watching this episode. Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.

Chasing Your Heart: Chicago Fire "Always a Catch" Fall Finale

Image result for Chicago Fire always a catch

The fall finale of Chicago Fire is not only a hyperdrive of drama, but it also gives us the biggest cliffhanger of the other Chicago shows. Here's a recap!

The episode started as usual: he laughed, and even Bodens showed his love for Tuesday the dog. That was until Cruz was on the phone with Chloe, who was about to get donuts for the crew, until she got into an accident on the highway. When 51 gets there, it's one of the most significant pileup accidents probably since Chicago Med season two's "Cold Front" episode.

Getting there, the only thing that Cruz could do was search for Chloe. Moving down from vehicle to vehicle, he finally sees her badly hurt. After the team gets her out and into the Med chopper, Cruz and the team get to Med as fast as they can, and the only thing they can do is wait. At Med, Cruz informs Chloe's parents about her condition and plays the waiting game. Fast-forwarding: Chloe wakes up and kisses Cruz, but Cruz learns from Chloe's mother that he's been the best thing for her for a long time.

Severide and Kidd's relationship could be in trouble even before they could put a year on it. Kidd learns from Tyler that Severide has been jealous of having him around her. She confronts Severide about it and responds that he's not, but she has known Severide for a long time, and he has a history of jealousy. But this time, he's not looking out for her, as it's Tyler trying to win Kidd back for him. The episode leaves Severide eating pizza while Kidd hangs out with Tyler at the bar.

After a heroic call and switching vehicles to get a child to Med, Foster meets with a familiar face. Foster gets an opportunity to go back and become a doctor, but after talking with Boden, she decides to stay as a paramedic because she believes that's what she should do. Cheers to that!

After seeing Cruz's relationship with Chloe, Brett decides to go for it with Kyle and asks him for dinner. When she asked him, his response was yes.

Casey and Namoi take their relationship to a new level. After interviewing the company's family accused of those trailer home fires. After getting threatened, Namoi makes a counterpoint threat and leaves with Casey excitedly. Later, Casey moves their relationship to the next level. After they fall asleep, Casey wakes up and sees a fire in the apartment that seems to come from the scene from the Super Bowl episode of This Is Us. But it leaves us with a cliffhanger to hang on to til January.

"Always a Catch" was an exciting, character development-driven episode. It felt like a movie-sized hour episode that held nothing back for viewers to see good and bad things. The pileup scene gave me chills from the crossover event early this season. I feel that this will be the end for Kidd and Severide. I think Kidd will realize that Tyler has been messing with them. But I also believe if she doesn't know it, Severide will do something. The happy moments go to Brett, Cruz, Chloe, and Foster. Not to mention Boden and Tuesday. As much as I would love to slap Casey for taking his relationship to a new level so quickly. I'm slightly okay with it. But leaving them in that situation of trapped fire, will one of them live? I can't wait for January.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago Fire when they return on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 9/8c on NBC.

In a Dark Place with a Dark Turn: Chicago PD "Descent" Fall Finale

Image result for chicago pd descent

The fall finale of Chicago PD was powerful but left us with a shocking ending that no one saw coming. Here's a recap!

Antonio's addiction to pain killers becomes a problem when he not only is at a drug house but is caught by his team. But he gives the team an excuse that he got a tip from one of his CI about the place and decided to investigate. It might have worked for a while til Voight gets a suspicion on his behavior. Antonio gets caught by Voight when he buys drugs and tells him to get clean. But as Antonio packs things up, he gets a call from the drug dealer's brother that he had kidnapped his daughter and demands his brother be released.

The team comes together not only for Antonio's problem but to find his daughter and hunts down the kidnapper. As they finally found Antonio's daughter, they go after her kidnapper, who disappeared. Voight goes hard on the suspect's brother who tells him that he goes to an old factory planet. There Antoion, Voight and Ruzek get there and goes after him. After chasing, he is taken down and Antonio takes a couple of shots on him but when he talks about how he loved his daughter, Antonio pushes him out the boarded window and landed to his death. It leaves a WTF moment for Ruzek, Voight, and Antonio in this cliffhanger.

"Descent' was a powerful and an intense episode that delivers a surprise moment that I never saw coming: not even from Antonio. This was a strongly written episode that really driven the character development of Antonio to a place we've never seen before and yet it was brilliant. I literally can't wait till Jan. 9th to see what's going to happen next. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago PD when they return on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 10/9c on NBC,

Love is a Funny Thing: Chicago Med "Death Do Us Part" Fall Finale

Image result for Chicago Med "Death Do Us Part"

This week's fall finale of Chicago Med not only left us with intense drama but also a shocking final moment that would leave us stunned. Here's a recap!

On his wedding day, as Will gets ready and gets fitted for his tux, he gets stopped by Ray's son asking to check up on him. There, he sees that Ray is not okay and tells him he must go to the hospital. But that was until another of Ray's sons found the device that Will had left, and healthy things intensified. As Will is held captive, Ray collapses, and Will goes from looking like James Bond to MacGyever in 20 minutes as he performs brain surgery to stop the leak in Ray's brain. The operation was successful, and later taken to the hospital. Will stayed with a gun to his head. More later.

Meanwhile, at Med, Ethan and April treat a pregnant woman about to give birth, but the problem comes when the baby wants to be born butt first. Ethan called for an emergency c-section, but the baby was delivered naturally, and it turned out that the baby would not live. The parents weren't pleased with the outcome and decided to leave the baby before it died. April decides to stay with the child while Ethan and Viki attend the wedding.

Charles deals with a strange case when a husband is brought in after he is attacked by his wife, who thinks that he isn't her husband. Charles talks with the wife, and from his understanding, she's got a tumor in the brain and takes scientific drugs to help it stop growing, but the side effects are what's causing her to attack her husband. Charles gives her another drug, which soon causes even more of a problem. But before taking her off of that, she asked for surgery to take out the tumor. They get stopped from doing it by her husband, who believes that she doesn't want it.

Conner and Ava perform surgery on a mystery man who is an informant for the FBI and Jay. Jay comes into the hospital and asks Conner for help because that guy may know where Will is being held. Conner decides to stop the surgery and move him up to the surgical floor and asks him questions, but soon, he goes into cardiac arrest and dies. But did he give the location of where Will could be?

While in panic mode, Natalie is worried about where Will could be and thinks that he may be having second thoughts. After calling and calling him, she finally gets word from Maggie, who got a call from Jay that he's outside the church. She rushes out there to see Will covered in blood from the shot that Jay took to save his life, but he had to leave fast to be placed in the witness protection from Ray and his gang. He hugs her and tells her he loves her as he leaves her.

"Death Do Us Part" was an intense, high-driven fall finale episode. There was everything that you would want, from a mystery illness to an extreme and emotional story of the baby born only to die with no parents except April being there. I would hope that moment would bring April and Ethan close together. But the man-driven moment was Natalie and Will and the shocking moment that there won't be a wedding and that Will is gone. Also, does anyone think that Goodwin and Charles should hook up? Anyway, the writing and performance from this episode were excellent and strong. I can't wait for the next episode in the new year. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago Med when they return on Wednesday, Jan. 9th, at 8/7c on NBC.

Feelings Vs. Ethics: The Good Place "Chapter 36: Janet(s)" Fall Finale

Image result for The Good Place Janet(s)

HOLY MOTHERFORKING SHIRT BALLS!!!!

Week after week, The Good Place has been delivering outstanding episodes, and when you thought the previous one couldn't be topped....think again. Here's a recap!

The episode follows after Janet takes Eleanor and the gang into her void. But there's a slight problem, as Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani, and Jason are all Janets. At least Janet gave them their clothes to tell who's who.

Michael and Janet go to the accountant's office to see if The Bad Place messed with the numbers system of getting into The Good Place. Looking up Doug's records, it seemed that everything for him was good until they saw that his age went against him. This upsets Michael, and he asks about the last time someone made it to The Good Place....over 500 years ago.

Meanwhile, things are going so well inside of Janet until Eleanor tries to talk to Chidi about their relationship, and he tries to deny it. But soon, arguing and popping things up (like Janet would do) causes trouble for Janet that could break her. Eleanor soon has an identity disorder and changes into a different person. But as Chidi tries to make Eleanor remember who she is, he soon decides to kiss her, and things turn out okay, and everyone turns back to their rightful bodies.

Soon, Janet starts to throw Eleanor and others out of her, and the alarm goes off because they are most wanted. Michael decides to fix the system by stealing Doug's file and getting everyone to what is finally The Good Place for now.

"Janet(s)" is another outstanding, hilarious episode. After watching the first five minutes of the episode, I believe that D'Arcy Cadren deserves an Emmy nomination and an Emmy for her performance and every other award out there!!! Mind-blowing? YES! Hilarious? HELL YEAH!! The writing was so strong and clever. Cadren deserves to be the Performance of the Week.

Overall, I give this episode a 10/10.

You can catch The Good Place when they return in the new year on Thursday, Jan. 10, at 9:30/8:30 on NBC. Only three episodes are left, and I can not wait to see what happens next.

FYI: If you didn't get the news this week, it has been a perfect week for The Good Place. Not only did they get picked up for a fourth season, but they also got nominated for two Golden Globes for Best Actress in TV Comedy Series for Kristen Bell and Best TV Comedy Series.

Two Different Sides: Supergirl "Bunker Hill"

Image result for supergirl bunker hill

Things take a darker turn in this week's episode. Here's a recap!

It seems that Nia's dreams are what keeping her awake as what she sees have scared her. One of them happens to be of Agent Liberty pointing a gun towards her. James and Kara notice the amounts of coffee she's carrying and Nia getting scared of a photo of Liberty. Kara talks to her and decides to bring Brainy in; after he tells her and Alex who Nia really is in the future.

Brainy helps Nia of what she sees in her dreams and sees Ben Lockwood's wife in trouble. She's closer to the truth; as Manchester pays a visit to Ben Lockwood. As Kara, Nia, and Brainy pay a visit to Collinwood; they get followed. Kara tries to talk with them, but they take them both to Lockwood steel planet. There Nia saves Brainy and Kara and all three members get taken down.

Kara sees the sign of the building "Lockwood"; calls Alex to tell her that she believes Ben Lockwood is Agent Liberty. Alex tricks one of Liberty's followers and confirms its Lockwood. Kara races to Lockwood's house was too late as Manchester and Lockwood have left and were heading to the steel planet. There Manchester puts a hold on Lockwood but traps Kara too. That was until Lockwood's wife holds him and Nia knocks him out with the 20-pound hook swung to him.
Lockwood and Manchester were taken to prison; but not before Ben starting another conversation that soon builds to the press calling him a human right activist. It even gets President Baker siding with the public ask Supergirl to reveal her identity, but she declined and is relieved of her duties.
"Bunker Hill" was a strong and intense episode to be the fall finale. It opens up the possibility of what's in store when the show comes back in January.  There were moments to enjoy like Brainy and Nia scenes were great and along with them and Kara there just seems to be a real on-screen chemistry there. With Kara not working with Alex and the DEO, maybe she'll team up with J'onn and his PI team. They do work together. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Supergirl next week in the three show crossover event "Elseworld" starting Sunday at 8/7c with The Flash, Arrow on Monday at 8/7c and Supergirl Tuesday at 8/7c on The CW.

Choices: Supergirl "Rather The Fallen Angel

Image result for supergirl rather the fallen angel

Manchester and Supergirl team up, what could possibly go wrong? Here's a recap!

"Rather the Fallen Angel" was a good episode, yet it had some lack in some ways. The lack in some ways was Lena and Adam storyline whether or no that Lean will go through with the testing on Adam as the human subject. And by the end, I couldn't get whether if Adam made progress or not in the testing, but from the look from Lena, it looks like it didn't go well. And her relationship with James seems to be not going well either.

Meanwhile, James makes the decision to join Agent of Liberty's group.  It leads to James being forced to do something he doesn't. But when Manchester and Kara team up to hunt Liberty down; it turned out that Manchester double crossed Kara and J'onn; turning her into Liberty.  Kara does escape and gets not only help from James but Manchester too.

J'onn meets with Manchester and finally, see what he truly is; that he would go to the ends of the earth to find the man that killed his wife. J'onn seemed to have failed Kara and apologizes to her.
Overall, I give this episode a 7.5/10.

You can catch Supergirl on Sundays at 8/7c on The CW.

Fighting Words: Supergirl "Call to Action"

Image result for supergirl call to action

It's Thanksgiving and it seems that Child of Liberty are gonna pull a purge. Will Kara and gang stop them? Here's a recap!

With it being Thanksgiving, the Children of Liberty pull of their own way of the purge by stalking houses of where aliens live and torcher them. After Kara and Manchester stopped a group, Col. Haley orders Alex and Kara to stop investigating it; they did it anyway.

Meanwhile, Lena booked James to a around table discussion TV show; but he doesn't want to do because of his planned hangout with one of the Children of Liberty. It doesn't sit well with Lena and well James didn't go and instead had Kara go on there and discuss with Lockwood. Kara makes a perfectly good argument til Lockwood makes one last statement that got the audience buzzing.

As everyone comes for Kara's apartment for Thanksgiving, they discuss the agenda of Children of Liberty until Brainy brings out one of their mask that happens to have a vision sensor so they know which house to go to. Then everyone leaves to stop the groups even getting help from a dragon.
After his television appearance, Lockwood seems to have a nice Thanksgiving til he gets a call from the television host asking if he would like to host his own TV show. He accepts.

After things calm down, Haley tells Alex and Kara that she'll have the DEO investigate the Children of liberty. But meantime, Lena's Phase II seemed to go wrong with testing a heart that has tumors. But when Lena was trying to destroy the third heart, it wouldn't and moved to the next step: human testing.

Everyone becomes worried about Nia's sleeping too much and asked her about it. She admits that she has narcolepsy but wouldn't accept help from Kara or her mother.  Manchester captures one of the Liberty members and tries to get information. But James gets a call from the guy he was hanging out with and told him he could get him in to see the boss. But he had to be kidnapped to do it.

"Call to Action" was a good episode. It had some good moments that stood out from Lena and James fighting about their different opinions and he not wanting to do the television thing. Brainy and Nia meeting again for Thanksgiving. The dragon that appeared to protect that kid was an amazing and nice reference to Harry Potter. I would be very worried about Nia but I think we'll know more about her in the coming episodes. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

You can catch Supergirl on Sundays at 8/7c on The CW.

Lost and Reunited: Supergirl "Parasite Lost"

Image result for supergirl "Parasite Lost"

With commanding officer at the DEO, how will this play out for Alex? Here's a recap.

With the episode starting off light and humorist with Kara and the gang having brunch; it was Brainy and Nia's reconnecting interaction that really stole the moment. But things take a turn and worrisome as well with Alex getting a new commander officer, Col. Haley. It seemed that she was going to be bossy with Alex and team but she's like what Alex has been doing.

When Brainy spotted Jensen, Kara and the team learn that Jensen isn't Jensen anymore; now a parasite that gives him absorbing powers and almost taking Kara's powers too. Lockwood placed that parasite in Jensen's ear so he would have a right-hand man.

But when Jensen's powers fade away that's when Lockwood got one of his followers to steal the power jewel from Amadei Derros. Once stolen, Jensen starts taking powers way from aliens that are heading to Derros' awakening and causes chaos for Alex and Kara. Alex talks to Jensen, while Haley wants her to take him out, but reasoning won in the end. Alex and Haley have some discussion about how that event went down, but things got to what we were thinking would happen when they first meet and that was Haley telling Alex how much J'onn wasn't a good man.

Meanwhile, Kara gets an interview with one of the most beloved aliens around Amadei Derros.  He has the power to help humans like a child in a wheelchair that can walk again. Well, after her interview with him, the public was really divided about it. It even got someone from the Child of Liberty to steal Derros' jewel.

But stealing that jewel would put him to death. That's where J'onnn and Kara investigate and learn of his daughter, Natalie.  But it wasn't her that stole it, it was Natalie's mother, who also pulled The Notebook between Natalie and Amadei. After Jensen took the jewel off of him, J'onn and Kara deliver it to Amadei along with his daughter and it turned a joyful moment.

Lockwood mad as hell after the lost; gets a call from James. They talked about working together during Guardian's award ceremony. But James plans to see what Lockwood is all about and maybe find that he's the leader of Child of Liberty.

"Parasite Lost' was a fine good episode. Even though the leading up to Jensen and Alex was okay. It was Kara and J'onn Private Investigation that really took and would love to see more of that in the future. Good character development, writing and the one moment that really stole the episode was Brainy and Nia reuniting since episode two. Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.

You can catch Supergirl on Sundays at 8/7c on The CW.

Go with Your Gut: Supergirl "Ahimsa"

Image result for supergirl ahimsa

Tensions rise on Alex's leadership and Supergirl's safety; while the search for Fiona continues with a little help from someone close. Here's a recap!

With Supergirl under commission due to the kryptonite particles in the air; Alex's leadership at the DEO isn't looking so good with Mercy breaking into the DEO. Even Kara, after waking up, doesn't follow Alex's orders to stay and not go. But Kara's suit doesn't hold a whole lot of power to protector as it loses it in battle.

Lena and Brainiac try to come up with something that will take out the kryptonite gas in the air for Supergirl. After Lena helped Brainiac with his emotions, the two come up to help Kara fight out there.

J'onn, who's in an anger of emotions, gets a visit from Fiona's husband, Manchester Black. The two talk and get a scoop from a cop on a location, but when that turned out to be nothing. J'onn uses Manchester's ring to get a strong link signal to Fiona so they would get a location. After getting a location Alex and the team get there at the Fair Grounds.

With Mercy and Otis at the Fair, Alex and Kara get there and fight. With Kara losing power and Otis putting a gun to her head, they get Mercy and Otis to talk and buy some time; Lena and Brainiac to get all of those kryptonite gas out of the air. Mercy and Otis are taken out before Kara and Alex could do anything.

Also, James deals with wanting to be Guardian again and with Nia trying to tell him it would be a bad idea. He goes out there and helps Alex and Kara at the Fair. But when Nia informs him that Guardian has been trending for all the wrong reasons with one headline: "Guardian of Liberty." Kara and Alex are in good spirits but Alex gets a commanding officer Colonel Lauren Haley that was assigned by the President. Liberty continues the work by placing the parasite in Jensen's ear.

"Ahimsa" is another fantastic episode that dives well in intense and emotional moments. Another moment for Alex and Kara that adds great drama between these two characters. David Ajala's portrayal of Manchester Black was amazing and freaking cool when teaming up with J'onn. It's not over yet with this character I think. Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.

You can catch Supergirl on Sundays at 8/7c on The CW.

For Liberty: Supergirl "Man of Steel"

Image result for supergirl season 4 episode 3 man of steel

This episode we see the man behind the steel face of Agent Liberty. Here's a recap!

"Man of Steel" might be one of the best supervillain backstory episodes so far.  It captures the center backstory of Agent Liberty; Ben Lockwood was a common family man who worked as a professor at a university. His father's opinion about aliens grew and grew on him. Ben's frustrations grow and at the point sees his dad died during the season two finale event. That's when Ben is introduced to Mercy and how he got his suit.

From then on, we see the events as Liberty killing and causing trouble in National City. But when Mercy and Otis come back with Jensen, instead of killing him he thinks it best to use him to get inside the DEO.

Meanwhile, J'onn saves Kara and they try to figure out how to save her from the kryptonite that Mercy used. With no options at the DEO, Alex calls Lena for hep and gives the one option to save her, for now, a prototype armor.

As I said before this was such an amazing episode and another strong, well-developed character story too. Sam Witwer did a fantastic job in this episode and really captured the meaning of what Agent Liberty is fighting for. Not only that but the moments or scenes with Alex trying to figure out how to save Kara was emotional and when bring in Lena was even more emotional too. Does anyone think it's time for Lena to learn that Kara is Supergirl? I think it might be time, but I don't like to pull that plug on it yet.
Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Supergirl on Sundays at 8/7c on The CW.

Fear: Supergirl "Fallout"

Image result for supergirl fallout

As the country is in anger about the President of the United States is an alien. Could Supergirl encourage the nation to show love and respect? Here's a recap!

The nation is angry that the President of the United States is an alien; and just as Supergirl meets with POTUS before leaving she encourages her to show hope. She does that at first when she saves a group of protesters who were arguing with one another; and asked to talk things out.

With the capture of Otis, Mercy is still out there and has another plan to make things worst for aliens. She steals an L-Crop employee's laptop so she can hack into Lena's company and deactivate her device that helps aliens disguise as humans. But when that failed but did some damage, Mercy shows up but not without a fight between Lena, which ended with Supergirl finally comes in to stop the fight.

With Otis and Mercy caught, it's over just yet as things around are starting to accelerate. Employees at the DEO have expressed their opinions about aliens living amongst us.  Jenson was one of them as he looks at Brainiac 5 and soon helps Otis and Mercy escape from the DEO and working for them now.
J'onn searches for his friend, who has been gone for a long time. After snooping around, he finds some clues that lead to a group gathering of an anti-alien propaganda with Agent Liberty as the speaker. He wants everyone to show fear and not hope.

I mention that Mercy tried to deactivate Lena's device earlier; which it did succeed when Brainiac 5 was getting pizzas and the manager was freaking out. But thanks to Nia who stood up for Brainiac 5 and saved him from a beatdown; but that courage got her to speak up to Jimmy that he needs to write an Op-Ed piece.  Even more to add that Nia tells Jimmy that she's a transgender woman and express how hard it was for her.

After listening to Nia's story, seeing an employee prank another employee and Supergirl's televised speech of hope and not fear; Jimmy wrote up his op-ed piece on what's going on in the country. But as things might seem to be okay, Mercy and Otis release kryptonite in the air and poisons Supergirl as she flies in the air.

"Fallout" was not only a  fantastic episode but it might have been stronger than the previous episode. I get what they are doing this season; and it's become so realistic of what's been going on in our world now, which overwhelms me at times. Not only was the writing strong with strong character developments but the character of Nia really shine in this episode and Nicole Maines gives a strong performance. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Supergirl on Sundays at 8/7c on The CW.

Stuffing: This Is Us "Six Thanksgiving"

This week's episode of This Is Us was a big one. But it's one to remember on a holiday like Thanksgiving. Here's a recap!

As Jack has Nick under his command, things weren't too smooth as he hopes. After listening to some of the soldiers talk about him; Jack walks out and sees a mother helping her son to their hut with a foot injury.  Jack ordered Nick to help him but he doesn't want to and later tells Jack about what had happened and why he's been such a butthead.

In 1997, as Jack and Rebecca get ready for their Thanksgiving dinner and awaiting for Miguel,  Randell tells them along with Kevin and Kate about his essay to college and why being inspired by one person is flawed. But when Miguel comes, he's distraught about how his ex-wife is making them think he's a bad father. Jack gives him one of his famous type of speeches and we see that use in the present time when he and Rebecca see his kids for the first time.

When Miguel and Rebecca visit his kids for Thanksgiving, it doesn't go so smoothly. Miguel's son disrespects Rebecca and gets Miguel to speak up unlike we have seen the past three seasons.
Randell and Beth helped to feed the needy on Thanksgiving for a campaign event, but when Randell and Jae-won don't see eye to eye on what's best for this campaign. Instead of listening to his campaign manager, Randell listens and uses Beth's ideas to boost her confidence. But they visit Jesse and we see a flashback of how William and Jesse met and their relationship took off.

While Randell and Beth are out, Kate and Toby handle the Thanksgiving dinner. Toby gets overwhelmed about from Randell's guidebook to fix stuff, but Kate tries to calm him down. It gets awkward when Toby deliveries something to Tess, who felt sick but really experienced her first period. Kate talks to her and after talking about Kate's first period, Tess comes out and Kate supports her decision.

As Kate comes down to the kitchen, she sees Toby carrying bags of takeout from Popeyes. Kate gives Toby a kiss and tells him that he just pulled off the same magic that Jack would do in the situation. And soon everyone comes in for Thanksgiving dinner, including Kevin and Zoe who are on video messager.

"Six Thanksgivings" was a jam-packed episode that had what I would call an actual true Thanksgiving episode. I was amazed by the strong writing and the character development in this episode. But I was mainly stunned by Miguel. As he showed his true colors.  His argument to his kids (mainly to his son) was not just to them but to those Miguel haters out there (which I was one of them in the first season but realized that he's a good guy). Jon Huertas steals the episode with his strong and breakout performance.  Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch the fall finale of This Is Us Tuesday at 9/8c on NBC.

Simple Twist in Life: Fresh Off The Boat "Sub Standard"

With the failure of her novel, Jessica finds the next project. Here's a recap.

As Jessica still mourns the failure of her novel; she's trying to find things to take her mind off of it. From getting Louis to get off the couch and lose weight to even getting both Even and Emery to fix their grandmother's table. But when Eddie talks about his substitute teacher and how he doesn't use a syllabus for the class, it gets Jessica to investigate it. She tries to get the regular teacher back but she's gonna be out due to an injury.

After visiting the class, she's confident that she's found what she wants to do, a school administrator. Wouldn't that be cool?

Meanwhile, in the episode, Louis teams up with Honey to lose weight; after a couple of fail attempts of joining a few classes, Honey learns some shocking news. She's pregnant again! Even and Emery tries to hide from Jessica, they get into a corner when they tell her that they were helping grandma. And they get stuck doing some chores.

"Sub Standard" was a good and funny episode. There were some moments that very much wow me from Honey learning that she's pregnant (because Chelsey Crisp is pregnant in real life) and Jessica trying to find ways to keep her mind from thinking about her novel and figures out she wants to be an administrator at the school. There was a good character development with Jessica. But if there was one thing that I would take out of this episode it's the line that Louis says when watching Montel: "Montel and Mentos, Fresh breath, fresh talk." Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

You can catch Fresh Off the Boat Fridays at 8/7c on ABC.

Life is More Meaning: The Good Place "Chapter 35: Don't Let the Good Life Pass You By"

Image result for The Good Place "Don't Let the Good Life Pass You By"

As Michael and Janet meet with the idealist for The Good Place. Eleanor and the gang deal with a bigger problem. Here's a recap of The Good Place.

As Michael and Janet meet with Doug Forcett, the idealist of what The Good Place is, and finds out how he figured out the system; getting high in the 70's. But Michael sees that Doug isn't living such a good life as he's living a miserable life while trying to please everyone. That also includes growing his own food and drinking his own filtered urine as water. Michael tries to get him to live life to the fullest but he wouldn't want to break the points system.

Meanwhile, after Eleanor gets advice from Tahani about telling Chidi that they fell in love back in The Good Place. But just before she tells him, she notices some of the people in the bar aren't good and it turns out they're demons. Shawn comes in tries to take them back, but Michael comes in and soon Janet becomes Kill Bill version of herself and fights the other demons. One by one, each demon gets sent back by Michael's device and even Shawn too. But soon more came and Janet offers them to get inside of her. Which left it there on a cliffhanger once again.

"Don't Let the Good Life Pass You By"  was a fantastic episode as it could have ever been. Michael McKean's portrayal of Doug Forcett was amazing and perfect casting choice. D'Arcy Carden steals the episode with her scene as the kickass scene moments that really look from Kill Bill. Also, Ted Danson does some amazing work too. The writing was strong with character development. Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10.

You can catch The Good Place when they return on Thursday, December 6th at 8:30/7:30c on NBC.

True and False: Superstore "New Imitative"

Image result for superstore new initiative

With the company want the employees to be more cherry with a smile. A family reunion also is in store too. Here's a recap of Superstore.

"New Initiative" had some many memorable moments that it was another hilarious episode. Dina and Garrett betting on each other on who can smile the longest for the store new initiative policy of smiling and talking with the customers. They go at it with each other about some of the worst things that happen to them to win the bet.

Jonah's parents shopping and hoping to see their son, who thinks he's still in medical school. As Amy tries to help them with their needs as shoppers, they meet Jonah and soon learn that he's working at this store for three years. Even the moment with Amy trying to get Glenn to shut up about Jonah working at the store was one of the funniest moments, even after when Glenn was talking with Amy about the situation.

Another hilarious and good episode with such memorable performances from the ensemble cast. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Superstore when they return Thursday, Dec.6th at 8/7c on NBC.

Talk it Out!: Chicago Fire "The Solution to Everything

Will Severide open up before he gets himself killed? Casey and Namoi get a clue on their arson investigation and the hunt is on for a photo from Boden's past. Here's a recap of Chicago Fire.

Boy, this was sure a Chicago Fire episode to remember in one way or another. Severide, who's still grieving the loss of his father, gets in danger during a call when a chimney collapses. Casey and Otis got him in time and Kidd isn't too happy about not helping because of Casey's orders.  Severide opens up to Foster about not moving away in that fire and that's when she opens up to him about losing a family member messes with your mind. After that Severide starts talking to her about his feelings, even making Kidd feels a bit jealous but happy.

Casey and Namoi get a clue on their arson investigation, not to mention a threatening voicemail to stop investigating. Their investigation leads to a place in Indiana. There they see something that looks familiar to them and as they break in, someone is watching them as well.

But the hunt for a photo from Boden's past really stood out in this episode. The hunt was for a calendar photo of Boden as Mr. September 1990. After looking around from the library to the Chicago Fire Museum, but no luck. Even Herrmann goes to the last person that might know, Donna. She tells him that she doesn't know where it would be, but she had one that's kept in her closet.

"The Solution to Everything" was another classic episode of Chicago Fire that balances out the drama, humor and the intense storytelling, mainly the Casey and Namoi investigation that could lead to something in the fall finale in two weeks. The episode had some good character development and writing too. There was another moment with Casey and Brett that I think they could be a couple. Maybe it's my mind playing with me. And Kelly and Foster talking was a good sign that he's going to be fine and maybe talk with Kidd. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch the fall finale of Chicago Fire Wednesday, December 5th at 9/8c on NBC.

Heart or Badge?: Chicago PD "Black & Blue"

Will Atwater put his heart before his badge when someone he falls in love with becomes a suspect in a murder investigation?  Here's a recap of this week's episode of Chicago PD.

"Black & Blue" was another marvelous episode that puts Atwater in a challenging situation that, if it went any other way, I would be okay with it. Trying to go a drug bust that turned into one of the kids selling the drugs ended up dead. When the intelligence gets a lead on their suspect, it also leads to a relationship that Atwater gets into.

Using her to get to their suspect, they found fingerprints of Atwater's friend that were connected to the murder. In troubled waters, Atwater decides to work a badge instead of his heart. But when the suspect that they are after is dead, the kid that he was chasing shoots him. Atwater's friend will take on the murder charges and possibly get out in three years. Atwater decides to help the kid who killed his boss and tossed the gun he used in the Chicago River.

It was another well-performed, intense character development episode, and it was one of the best Atwater episodes so far this season. I wouldn't be surprised if she's back three years from now and confronts Atwater. Overall, I give this episode an 8.7/ 10.

You can catch the fall finale of Chicago PD on Wednesday, December 5th, at 10/9c on NBC.

Mind Think Different: Chicago Med "Playing By My Rules"

Will this be the end of #Manstead? Will Dr. Rhodes face the new rules for the hybrid OR? Here's a recap of this week's Chicago Med.

With Will facing pressure to stop treating Ray, instead of taking it out on them, he takes his anger against Natalie and their patients. He is trying to get Will to let his patient go so they can override the consent for his daughter to donate her organs, but he doesn't want to do it. But when Goodwin and the board decided to let the father go. Thinking that this could be the end of Manstead, as Will is up on the roof, Natalie joins him and asks if he wants the ring back. Instead of saying yes, he tells her he wants to marry her, and the two hug with emotion.

Rhodes gets word from Goodwin that the hybrid OR will be used for other surgeries. That news doesn't sit well with him, and it builds increasingly more of a battle with Lanik. After taking the OR back, Rhodes performs a dangerous operation that pisses Lanik, but in the end, the patient comes out okay. But when Goodwin heard of what happened with Rhodes, she told him that she was the one who authorized it, not Garrett. But she threatened him that if he ever did that again, she would fire him. That did turn Ava on and got her and Rhodes kissed in the prep room.

Maggie and April butted heads because of their way of managing the ED. With Maggie being Rhodes' top OR nurse, things have been relatively smooth without her when April takes over. After confronting, the two made up.

Ethan and Charles take on a case of the week when a veteran comes in with Vicki. The patient comes with a horrible head wound that's caused by itching. She tells Ethan that she can't stop itching, and it worsens.   But when Neurosurgeon sees her, he thinks that she needs surgery. But Charles doesn't think so and teaches Ethan how the mind can play horrible tricks on you. After leading the trick of playing with the mind, Ethan agrees that their patient doesn't need surgery and gets her to do a test. After looking in the mirror and scratching the other side of her head, her itching was about gone. Will it help in the long term? We'll have to wait and see.

"Playing By My Rules" was another fantastic episode. There were many intense and emotional moments in this episode, from Natalie and Will butting heads on their patients to Rhodes going rouge against Lanik again and Goodwin in his ED OR. The case of the week with Ethan and Charles was a strong story that kept the episode interesting as it went on. Here I was, thinking it was a bug. And there were moments of WOW! from Rhodes and Ava kissing to Natalie and Will staying together. But Ethan decides to ask Vicki out, with April viewing it too. Ouch! Drama, right?

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch the fall finale of Chicago Med on Wednesday, December 5th, at 8/7c on NBC.
