Mysteries of Laura Cancelled by NBC

It looks like Debra Messing is off the case as NBC has cancelled the light crime drama procedural The Mysteries of Laura.

The series starring Debra Messing is was developed by Jeff Rake that was based on a Spanish format series. Laura was one of the bright spot for NBC when it launched in fall 2014 and the only show to return for a second season. Even though it's been older skewing, Laura has been a reliable at the 8 pm for the network on Wednesday's lineup.

Laura just wrapped in March with a 16 episode second season with a demo rating of 1.2 Live+same day adults 18-49. It's been a real boast Messing as the TV star lead.

NBC usually likes to keep shows like that in their back-pocket but coming off a strong drama pilot season where the network brass liked virtually all of their drama pilots, where they're making shelf spacing tighter and decisions tougher. And not to mention that Laura comes from Warner Bros. TV, an outside studio, where there is no extra incentive for NBC to try and keep it.

This news was a real blind-spotted. I really thought that NBC would renew it and at least keep it just in case a new series doesn't do well. Laura was an outstanding series with a great ensemble cast and the writing was so good. And not to mention that it was a real family cop drama. I can't find any other cop drama that you can watch with kids.

Well, best of luck to you Laura and co. We'll definitely miss ya!!

The Anti-Red Team: The Blacklist "Alexander Kirk (No. 14)

Meet the Anti-Red team of The Blacklist, a team that can do more than what the FBI or the United States will do in a crisis. And man did this have it's own Blacklist twist and turns.

After Red's highly convincing way to get to talk with Susan Hargrave, now she must help him find Liz's killer, Alexander Kirk. Hargrave was the contractor under Kirk who tried to take Liz from Red but failed.

So in order to get Kirk, Hargrave and her team needs to do what the FBI and US can't do, do things clean, illegal and a lot dirtier as well. Red talks to one person that probably doesn't want to do it...Tom Keen, but he wants the man responsible to pay so he agrees to tryout for the team.

Solomon walks with Tom through what was the coolest intro of where their headquarters are at and the team looks so familiar like Red's team. So the their plan is to take Kirk's money out before he can. So they put a scene of robbing the bank, but during that mission a kid gets shot and things went a little side track but made for one of the thirds most thrilling scenes.

When they got the the papers of Kirk's money they need a password, as soon as they get the password, they're gonna need a retinal scan of Kirk's accountant eye. Tom comes up with a plan to go in and take the guy out, but didn't think well that after drugging him his eye becomes an issue. So they needed to make a stop to get some eye drops but before leaving Tom shoots Solomon and leaves him for dead but escapes before the cops get there.

It's Solomon, he can escape from anything.

With the tradition of The Blacklist thriller, they get into the bank account and withdraw from Kirk's money into the FBI's account. Close but got the money in time, Hargrave than calls on Red about the drop is done.

With a senator, who's running for President, calls on Kirk about the money. Hargrave and Red make a surprising appearance and forces the man to bring Kirk out on indictment.

After we see that Tom, Cooper, Samar, Ressler and Aram are at Angus' christening. Tom makes a speech to them about how he's so happy that him and Liz has a family like them, since he doesn't know or have a family to see. We see Angus's christening but in the distance is Red watching from behind the doors. Breaks my heart.

But soon, Tom drives to Hargrave's home to finish the job, kill her. But when Red calls him in time, he tells Tom that if he kills her that the past that he is looking for will be gone forever. Because Hargrave is Tom's mother, but she doesn't know that her own son is alive.

Yeah there's the twist that we're looking for and along with that she hires Tom to join her team.

There you go, that is the backdrop pilot to The Blacklist spin-off, which broke news over the weekend that NBC has picked up as a series and will premiere sometime during the midseason. The name of the spinoff will be called "The Blacklist: Redemption."

This was a great episode. If I had to chose between this episode and Chicago PD's episode of Chicago Justice, it would probably be this one. But I love both of them and can't wait to see both spinoffs.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch the season finale of The Blacklist Thursday, May 19th at 9/8c on NBC.

And look for The Blacklist as it returns in the Fall back on Thursday nights but at 10/9c.

Heartbeat Cancelled After One Season

The diagnosis didn't look good at the beginning for NBC's medical drama Heartbeat and now it's future is certain that there won't be a second season.

NBC announced Friday that Heartbeat won't be returning for a second season. The show got picked up for the fall season after The Voice but was pushed back due to Melissa George's pregnancy. It still got a preview after The Voice but didn't do well on it's second night with a 1.4 adults 18-49 demo rating.

The numbers didn't approve for the medical show on it's Wednesday nights at 8pm slot where it replaced The Mysteries of Laura.

I assume the network will air the remaining episodes or burn them off sometime during the summer.

Along with Heartbeat, Undateable, Crowded and Telenovela have been cancelled.

So far two other shows are awaiting their on the news, Laura and The Carmichael Show, for which are highly likely getting another season.

NBC cancels Undateable

Well, the live experiment didn't work the way NBC was hoping for.

NBC has announced that it's cancelling Undateable after three seasons. The series created by Adam Sztykiel and executive produced by Bill Lawerence. The show set around a group of friends at a bar dealing with life and relationship.

Starring Chris D'Elia, Brent Morin, David Fynn, Rich Glassman, Ron Funches, Bianca Kajich and Bridgit Mendler. The series was based on Ellen Rakieten and Anne Coyle's book "Undateable: 311 Things Guys Do That Guarantee They Won't Be Dating or Having Sex.

The series was the number one summer hit in 2014 on Thursday nights. It was renewed and placed after The Voice on Tuesday night. They decided to do a live episode that sparked ratings up and when it was renewed for a third season the network wanted them to do all episodes live as they were placed on Friday nights.

This was one of the shows I was hoping it would be picked up. The cast has been nothing but hilarious and the addition of Mendler in the second season was great. The live episodes was like watching improv theater right in your own home. It got a lot of buzzed on twitter.

If you haven't seen the series I would recommend watching it. Go to NBC.com, iTunes or Google Play. The third season was it's best.

NBC Cancels Game of Silence

Well, it's a one and done series for NBC's Game of Silence.

NBC has announced on Friday that the freshman thriller will not be returning for a second season.

Adapted by executive producer David Hudgins from the Turkish series Suskunlar. Game of Silence starred David Lyons, Michael Raymond-James and Larenz Tate.

Lyon's played Jackson Brooks, a Huston attorney who, on the heels of adding to a beautiful successful fiancee of his life, is visited upon by two childhood friends, from their old, small hometown of Brennan. Chaos ensues as they face their childhood nightmare.

The series has been pretty good witha  good cast and the writing is good too. A lot of twist and even some turns that want to make you look away at scenes when watching these character's childhood when they go to a juvenile prison after a hit and run they caused.

Game of Silence airs Thursday nights at 10/9c on NBC.

CBS cancels CSI Cyber

Well, for the first time in 16 years, CBS will not have a CSI series to air come the 2016-2017 as CSI Cyber has been cancelled, after two seasons.

CSI Cyber was the fourth CSI series following with the mothership CSI (which ran for 15 years 2000-2015), plus the spin-offs CSI: Miami (2002-2012) and CSI: NY (2004-2013).

The series has been on the bubble with other shows. It's going to feel so weird not seeing anything on the CBS schedule that doesn't have the name CSI.

Supergirl Gets a Season 2, but New Home

Well, there's good news for Supergirl fans.

It was announced on Thursday that Supergirl has been renewed for a second season, but here's the real kicker....the series will have a new home come the 2016-2017 season.

The CW ill be taking over as it's new home for the superhero drama. When the series debuted on CBS in October, it premiered with 13 million total viewers and a 3.1 demo rating, which tied NBC's Blindspot as the 2015-2016 TV season's top rated new drama.

TVLine has confirmed that the Supergirl will move production to Vancouver, after setting up in Los Angeles for it's home. At the very early states, there are sources that say there is nothing to report that either way about Calistra Flockhart's participation in the relocation away from LA.

Starring Melissa Benoist (Glee) as the superhero, Supergirl. The series has averaged 7.7 million viewers and a 1.7 rating, numbers which with Live+7 DVR playback go up to 10 million and 2.5. In it's first season finale in April it scored a 6.1 million and a 1.3 in Live+Same day numbers.

But one of the most popular episode had featured a crossover from the star of The CW's The Flash, Grant Gustin, which helped boosted the series to a 7 week high in the demo.

I'm happy that Supergirl is getting a second season. I'm not to happy with how CBS treats their shows like if it doesn't do well to their standards than it's a failure. If you look at what NBC, FOX and ABC has done in the past few years that they keep shows that score lower than 2.0 and get another season.

But Supergirl is coming to The CW the superhero cable network. With Arrow, The Flash and  the Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl should fit in quite well. I'm looking forward to seeing what they'll use as their campaign for the new season.
