While Joan is bedridden recovering from surgery, she persuades Sophia to spend time with her, which she quickly regrets. Also, Jen and Greg select a name for their baby only to learn that Matt and Colleen chose the same one; Colleen and Matt invite the family over to get to know Morgan, and Heather has a new business idea.

"Chimichanga!" Fresh Off The Boat "No Apology Necessary" Season Finale

The season finale of Fresh Off The Boat just felt like when the show premiered. Here's a recap!

As Eddie is enjoying his cultural exchange program; it was cut short when he crashed the bus into a drive-thru Wendy's. As Jessica and Louis watched the news coverage; Eddie was brought back and was banned from the program that also includes both Emery and Evan.

After hearing Eddie's side of the story, Jessica takes his side and ungrounds him. Louis thinks that they should apologize; but Jessica doesn't think so but instead makes a deal with the program to take in a child, a little girl. Even though it seemed all fun and all, it turns into a nightmare for the family when the kid uses Louis' hairdryer and takes Eddie's room while Eddie stays with Even and Emery.
Evan gets to babysit Marie but when Honey and Marvin caught him make threats to the baby just to reason with her. But he tries to apologize to Marie in the way that he forgives her. 

Soon, Jessica and Louis see that the girl is on Taiwan news station; talking how bad it is living with the cheeseburger boy's family. That makes Jessia and Louis talk to the program and Eddie makes his apology, but the program wanted Jessica and Louis to do the same too. Louis, instead of his usual apology, doesn't and threatens. The girl is sent back and everything seems to be back to normal.
As the family drives home, Jessica tells Eddie that she's undoing her ungrounding on him. Than Louis puts on some tunes and the family starts singing to Sugar Ray, while Eddie puts on his own music and watches as he enjoys his music the family is enjoying theirs.

"No Apology Necessary" was a very nice ending to the season and a really fitting ending. If the network had placed the previous episode and this episode as a one-hour episode; it would be a real fitting series finale because it really felt like one. The episode really played out so well; even though I had high hopes for Eddie to be responsible this season, the screw up was a hilarious twist.

Not to mention the Louis and Jessica scenes about apologizing I couldn't get enough. There were moments in the episode that takes a direct montage to the pilot like the family driving listening to music. While there was some strong character development, the cast puts on a very good performance. If ABC announces that the show has been canceled today, tomorrow or around the May upfronts; as much as I would be sad for the show to end, I feel satisfied for the ending of the episode as it really felt like a series finale. Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10.

Missing His Presence: Fresh Off The Boat "Under The Taipei Sun" 100th Episode

In the 100th episode of the series, with Eddie on a living exchange in Taiwan; will the family miss him or not? Here's a recap!

As Eddie is ready to set on his exchange living in Taiwan; he doesn't take any advice seriously from Louis and Jessica. But as soon as Eddie gets there, things look amazing and fun for him; until he blows his money on gifts for the family and loses his stuff on the way back to his aunt's house.

Meanwhile,  Jessica, Louis, and the family are living an Eddie-free life; riding bikes through the park and singing from The Sound of Music to eating a big dinner and saving a lot for leftovers. But as time goes, the family starts to miss Eddie, but not Jessica. Louis and the boys try to get Jessica to admit that she misses Eddie with heartfelt cards and finally did it.

As Eddie tries to find a way back to his aunt's house; a gang threatens him until a nice guy comes in and help. That is until Eddie stood up and the gang left in fear of how big he is. Eddie helped the nice guy with deliveries; used his phone instead of calling his aunt, Eddie calls his parents on a long distance, and everyone is thrilled to hear one another.

"Under The Taipei Sun" was another terrific episode for this milestone. This was such a well-written episode; even some spots from past moments in the show that really felt the episode special. But the dynamic was about Eddie and Jessica; being separated and realizing that they miss each other as a mother and son would be. There was such a strong character development between Eddie and Jessica and even Grandma, who has a Cheers tattoo of Norm. I would admit that the bike ride in the park was probably one of my favorite moments besides the phone call between Jessica, Louis and Eddie, and Jessica reading cards. Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10.

Eyes Through the Ceiling:: Superstore "Easter"

When Amy learns of the secret cameras in the store, she also learns the secrets employees say about her. Also, a runaway bunny rabbit is on the lose and Dina tries to catch it. Here's a recap!

After a meeting, Amy and Dina try to find a person in a bunny suit walking around in the store; that is until Amy learns of the store's security cameras that are around and that includes the breakroom. There she sees and listens to Mateo and he's talking about her. Soon she learns everyone talks about her behind her back, but when she tells Jonah; the cat comes out of the bag and Mateo and Cheyenne played her.

Glenn has a Passover play at his church but learns that he got the role as Judas. Jonah learns that Garrett like one of his shirts; and tries to get a compliment in person. Dina hunts for the bunny and gets Sandra to help. But the bunny happens to be Jerry. As Dina finds the bunny, she gets Sandra to get him; but she tells Dina that she doesn't see it and it soon freaks Dina out.

"Easter" may not be one of the best episodes of the year but it's sure a good one to watch and rewatch once in a while. The writing was good along with the performances from the cast, it's probably one of the weakest episodes of the season. Overall, I give this episode a 7.5/10.

Respecting and Deciding: Life In Pieces "Demo Nosebreath Surgery Match"

From supporting wives for their needs to supporting their sons in their dreams. Here's a recap!

When Tim learns that Tyler's band played to no one at their gig, he tries to be the better parent than his parents were to support him. Tim rents a recording studio from a patient and gets Tyler to record his song. But as Tyler tries to sing, he starts crying and figures out that he's not a great singer and even gets a second opinion from Tim and the guy who's recording. But this leads Tim to go after his dream to jump off the high dive, which he did.

Jen is going through a rough pregnancy, and Greg isn't helping. Just from the smell coming from Greg's breath, she asked him to wear a mask and stop sounding words with S's. But it's when Jen turns down the temperature in the house to 62 that causes Greg to blow it as he wears a parka and can't sit on the toilet with the house being ice cold. After seeing how Jen gets motion sickness, Greg finally caves in, and as he comes home the next night, he eats his food outside.

Joan had surgery on her leg after the incident in the previous episode. As she comes home, John tries to take care of her, which she's pretty shocked and lets him do. She's even shocked to see how John brings up food and other things, but Heather is doing all the work. John pushes Heather too much and finally confesses to Joan. As much as Joan should have been upset with John, she wasn't as she was happy.
Colleen and Matt meet with an expecting mother, Morgan, who's looking to give her baby up for adoption. As they talk and give her a book of photos of what kind of people they are, their chances are low when Morgan meets with another set of parents. Matt and Colleen get worried but soon melt away when Morgan tells them she wants to give her baby to them because one of the photos they showed her reminded her of her relationship with her father.

"Demo Neosebreth Surgery Match" is another fantastic episode. Even though I find the Tim and Tyler story average, it had its moments but didn't deliver an ending. The Jen-Greg and John-Joan stories were hilarious and held up better. But Matt and Colleen's story had me thinking that this adoption would go south, but it didn't. For the last season, Matt and Colleen's journey to have a family has been a rollercoaster ride; knowing they are almost there is a breathtaking moment. The character development in this episode was perfect for Jen and Greg, John and Joan, and even Matt and Colleen. The writing was good as well. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

A Not-So Family Vacation: Life In Pieces "Jungle Push Resort Anniversary" Season Premiere

In the season premiere of Life In Pieces, a family vacation in the wildernesses isn't all that is cracked up to be. Here's a recap!

In the season premiere, The Short Family celebrates John and Joan's 50th wedding anniversary by taking a family vacation to Mexico. As Joan and John were excited, the rest weren't. From Jen and Greg dealing with Lark and the stuffed armadillo that she mispronounces, they even lose it in the jungle, which leaves Greg to look for it in the dark of night, which is so wild and hilarious.

Meanwhile, Sophia isn't too thrilled that everyone gets to go on a fun adventure while she gets to hang out with her mother. As they prepare for the "Fashion in the Jungle," she opens up to her dad, and he tells her the truth about not wanting to be her baby anymore. That leads to Sophia trying the ziplines, but as she tries to stop from going down, her mother lets her go.

Instead of staying in a hot and sticky room where animals can crawl into your face, Matt and Colleen found a way to enjoy the family vacation: staying at a better hotel with room service and air conditioning. But when Greg, Heather, and Tim found out, everyone expected John and Joan to live it up, even if it's coming out of Colleen's credit card and Tim gets tipsy.

As for John and Joan, as they sleep in a bunk bed, they try to have fun. Even when they tour the jungle, John takes her on a detour to a wilder adventure that leads them lost. But when they find the road and a bus, they see that the whole family is returning and take Colleen's offer of staying at the hotel while the rest of the family stays at the jungle cabins.

"Jungle Push Resort Anniversary" was a hilarious and wonderful season opener. From the beginning to the end, the episode brought many fun moments and even some memories of my family vacation. Each story moment in the attack was equally better, but even if I had to pick, I would have to go with Greg and Jen's quest to get the armadillo back for Lark. Even Sophia and Heather's story moment was excellent and memorable. And what can you not say about John and Joan's moment that ended on a high note? The writing was good, and the character development was too.  The performance of the cast was outstanding. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10

Re-Bully: A.P. Bio "Personal Everest"

When the school gets a motivation speaker, it so happens to be a former high school bully of Jack's. Can Jack stop him from spreading lies or will he get revenge on him? Here's a recap!

When Jack saw that all the students and staff are at the gym and listening to a motivation speaker; it so happens to be a former high school mate of Jack's that was a bully. Jack tries to find a way to find the truth that his former classmate didn't climb the highest mountains and lost his toe. But it gets shut down and even worst gets to motivate the staff at the high school. 

But when Jack's class not only learned of this but sees it; they spring into action that they stool the bully's toe. Soon after, Jack and the class headed back to the gym for another motivational talk but instead bullied him out of the school.

Meanwhile, Stef gets Mary and Michelle motivated by taking what is theirs. With Mary, she always apologizes but this time she doesn't and gets away with it. While, Michelle, who gets pushed around one too many times, fights back that even pushes a student with a broken leg down.

And Ralph tries to give Helen a raise, but she hasn't taken one for years. He tries to reason with her but instead, she doesn't. But have no fear as Ralph pulls off a sneaky way by telling Helen that she won a prize of three large rolling suitcases that could be hers if she accepts her raise; in which she does.

"Personal Everest" was a very good episode from start to finish. It had some really good moments from Jack meeting with the old schoolmate in the bathroom, or Jack's students watching him get bullied in front of them. Hell, watching Michelle rule the school hallways really had me laughing out of my seat. But the one that really got me was the students districting Jack's bully by stealing his toe and given it to Jack to use it. Also, that hug at the end when Jack's bully ran off was a touching moment too.

This episode really made me think of how different his show is and how it's like the fun version of Magic School Bus in a way. Anyway, I thought the episode had very good character development and the performances from the ensemble cast were very good too. Overall, I give it an 8.5/10.
